Jan 2, 2010My Droid seems to be running a little slow/hesitant. If readers can list apps that have slowed there Droids down maybe I can catch the culprit.

HTC Desire :: Phone Slowed Down / Abt Could Be Reason?
Jun 6, 2010My desire has slowed down in the last couple of days. My phone storage and memory are like:
Storage card - 4 GB - 611 mb free
In-built - 81 mb free
Would anyone know abt cud be the reason?
Motorola Droid :: List Of Apps Able To Be Transferred To SD Card - For 2.2
Jun 5, 2010I think it would be cool if we could keep a list going of which apps can be moved to the sd card (with 2.2). I'll start it, and submit apps and I'll keep this updated. Feel free to move to "All things root", but I figured it'd be a better fit here since 2.2 will eventually be released to everyone.
As of right now, I could hardly find any (only one to be exact) but I'll start the list anyways

Motorola Droid :: How To Generate List Of All Installed Apps?
Dec 4, 2009Is there any way to generate a list of all the apps installed on your phone that I can save/print? I'd like to create the list in the even that I need to reset the phone at some point (and also 'cause I'm a bit OCD about backing all kinds of stuff up). I've reset my phone four times (due to returns for HW issues) and have never had the google backup process actually restore my apps for me (and yes, backup is turned on in Settings). So anyone know of an automated process or marketplace app to do this?

Oct 3, 2010On my DroidX, Google Sky doesn't show up in my list of applications, but if I search for it, it does. I can launch it from the search results. I can also add an application widget to the home page and select Google Sky in its settings as the app to launch. Why doesn't it show up in the list of applications (The icon-based list you get when pressing the triangle-in-a-circle icon from the home page)?

Jul 19, 2010So I realized last night that if you make a group in Contacts, that group is created on the Phone Contact List, not in your Google Contacts, and those contacts are then copied to the Phone Contact list. Thus, you can add all the contacts you want to the Phone Contact list, which has the side effect of being able to use the Verizon backup app to make a backup of your contacts.Kind of pointless, but might be useful to people who want to change their default Google account for whatever reason and get some crucial contacts back after a hard reset using Verizon's MyBackup.

Nov 27, 2010I got 2 Droid X's last Saturday. If you hold mine and my wife's side by side (in the house), she gets 3G and 3 to 4 bars, while mine is 1X or lower with no bars 90% of the time.
The folks at my local store did a *228, option 2 on my phone and asked me to the same when I got home. Distance between the store and my house is about 9 miles. I did this. Still no help.
So i looked at my wife's phone and the PRL version on her phone is 65169, the version on mine is 52105. Obviously her list sees better towers or something. Is there any way to get my phone to set at that same version of the PRL list? A way to get a specific PRL on the phone?
I get good reception most everywhere else, but the fact that the exact 2 phones have such vastly different reception in the same place is frustrating.

Jul 20, 2010Came over to the X from a Storm 2, the verizon rep brought over my blackberry contacts to the X.The problem is, when i go to phone, these numbers show up, but if i go in thru contacts it only shows contacts i have setup since i purchased the phone.I did a search and could not find this exact problem, any other former BB users have this problem?

Nov 24, 2009Currently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.

Nov 11, 2009So I have something like 470 people in my Google Contacts under "All Contacts" and only about 60 under "My Contacts." I like it that way, because then my Droid contact list isn't full to the brim with people whose numbers I really don't need at the touch of my fingertips. That being said, however, it would be very cool if somehow the "All Contacts" section of my Google Contacts could be used to identify incoming phone calls.
For instance:
I want my Brother's phone number in My Contacts so I can call him.
I don't want my ex girlfriend's Stacey's number in My Contacts because I don't need to call her.
I still have my ex-girlfiend's contact info under "All Contacts" because there's no reason to delete it outright.
I would, however, like for my Droid's caller ID to tell me that the person calling me is "Stacey" instead of "unknown caller."
Am I asking too much? I know I could just add everyone to "My Contacts" and that would work, I just don't necessarily want 500 people in my Droid phone book. It's unnecessary. Or even apps that do this?
Motorola Droid X :: Contact List Customization - Show Only Added Phone Numbers
Sep 12, 2010I am still in the process of learning and customizing this phone so there may be a famous app that takes care of this but I did a search and found nothing. I am not a big fan of how the contact list shows friends from facebook/gmail/Phone. I only want it to show contacts that I have personally added on my phone. Is there a way I can arrange this. I have it to where it remembers phone contacts only when I hit contacts but as soon as restart, it goes right back to all contacts. It also comes up when I try to text someone or in the contact section of the dialer. I just dont like this. I don't mind that they are there, persay, but I don't want it to be default all the time. Is there a way to change this?

Oct 1, 2010Basically when i install a new rom, the market has now lost the free apps because thats what it does. the market must have some sort of file it maintains locally with the list of apps, and whether or not they are set to auto-update. where is this list so i can just paste it into my new rom, and market will automatically get all the apps and maintain the auto update settings.(also i know and use titanium backup so dont reply with 'use titanium', i just want to do what im looking for so the market always gets the latest version on a rom redo and also keeps holding the auto-update status.)

Feb 19, 2010Is it true that using a Task killer, actually opens your apps. I have noticed I will power on my phone and all of my apps will be their in the list. Also I have heard that that means they are ready to use but not neccesarily on. However, I kill all the tasks and still some will open a minute or two later, when I didnt open them. Its starting to bug me. I have Bettercut, with a few programs with different icons, and have beautiful widgets on one of the screen, with the silent, vibrate, and airplone widget. Swiping screens is really slow and laggy, I am not rooted or anything. I have the c14 update, is their any helpful way to fix this.
Also I will only have 30 Mbs open after 5 minutes of restarting the phone.
And don't say whats the big deal, if its working. Having more memory available makes apps runs smoother and faster.
