Motorola Droid :: Applications For Stock Email Program With Exchange
Dec 14, 2009Does anyone know of a 3rd party app that can be used to search the stock email program on the Droid? Through research have found that it is not possible within the app itself, but was not sure if anyone know of an app that allows you to search by recipient, size, date, etc? Coming from a blackberry, that is one of my most missed features.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Running Applications List And Battery Life
Nov 15, 2010Just got a Droid 2 and I'm tinkering around. I saw the "Running Apps" list and its pretty useful if I say so myself. However is it necessary to go in there and stop apps that I'm not using all the time to save battery life? Do apps still run after their closed, because Facebook was running after use. And when stopping apps my phone tells me that "this can have undesired consequences on the app" which scared me a bit. I haven't even done my first charge yet, but my battery went down about 40% in about 2 and a half hours.

Aug 2, 2010I've unrooted from Bugless Beast v.4 to a stock 2.1 via How To: Unroot the Motorola Droid | TheUnlockr. So basically I used RSDLite and did the steps listed on that site. I used their .sbf file as well. Everything seems to work except one thing. I cant update or install Facebook, Maps, and Goggles. If you look at the comments in that link, you'll see that a couple of people have the same issue. It says "installation error". "Package file not signed correctly".
I unrooted because I need to send my phone in for a replacement and I'm not trying to void my warranty. When I go into about phone it says:
Firmware version: 2.1-update 1 (which is correct)
Baseband: C_01.3E.03P
Kernal: 2.6.26-omap1-gb5cd919

Motorola Droid :: Music Applications Stock? (From Early Adoption Of Player 2.1)
Apr 21, 2010So I had 2 versions of Gallery and Music Player when I was running 2.0.1 and downloaded the apk's for the 2.1 Gallery and Music apps. When I upgraded to 2.1 OS I figured the 2.0 apps would be wiped out. It appears that they have until you look deeper. I have only one icon for the stock music app but noticed that when I press the button on my headset it would start and pause music other than what was qeued in the music app.
When I go to 'manage apps' I have 2 music apps listed (both say ver 7). One is 580kb and the other 4kb, giving the impression that the 4kb version is nothing really, but there are definately two versions running at times hence the whole 2 different songs playing at once deal when I press the headset button. I'm reluctant to try deleting anything as I am not sure how I can verify that any of the files floating around right now for the music application are the current version and don't wanna complicate life if I delete something that causes a problem.

Jan 19, 2012I am using the stock HTC e-mail program on my Droid Incredible to access my Gmail account. Up until recently, I would get a single notification for each new e-mail message that came in. Now when I get a notification that an e-mail has come in I get a follow-up notification every five minutes or so until I open my e-mail program. This started happening even though I didn't change any settings. I have been unable to find a setting either in HTC's e-mail or in Gmail to undo this. I think, but am not sure, that this started up when I upgraded to 2.3.4.

Dec 15, 2009Seems like a dumb question to me that should be easily figured out (assuming it can be done) on my own but I'm stumped and getting mad...usually means it's time to put it down and walk away :P
So yeah, I'd love to delete everything there but my local weather as I added two cities by accident pressing the wrong area and I could care less what the weather is in New York. Any idea if this is doable? I've tried holding my finger on it, looking under "menu", deleting New York from the World Clock app (widget? New to this kind of phone...) didn't help either, searching this forum, searching Google, and cussing. None of those helped.
Aside from that it's not showing my correct location for the weather either although I know it was when I first set it up. I did install the OS update but I think it was fine even after that. Odd...

I have recently noticed that although I use the advanced task killer to stop apps from running they still continuously turn themselves on and drain my battery. I can't keep watching my phone every second to "kill" them as they pop up. I was wondering if there is another way keep this from happening as there arn't any settings option in these individual apps to stop it or even better. An app to unistall "factory" apps such as MP3 store n so on.

Nov 10, 2009I had a Win Mobile phone prior to the Droid. I had Ilium EWallet and Listpro. So I'm looking for replacements. Listpro could make multiple lists and within that list I could check mark things without it actually deleting the line. Such as I had a book list going for my mom. I would have books she wanted me to pick up for her flagged and one color. Then once I got the book I would check mark it. Once it was no longer flagged and it was checked marked then it would sort but the books I still wanted first then what I had last. Then I also made the ones she actually had read a different color so I could keep everything straight as what to get her. (I hope I'm making sense here).
So I need a list program that is very detailed like this. I tried SplashID for lists but could not get it to download onto the Droid itself. This would have been perfect as it also has a desktop program you can type everything in and then just sync to the phone. The would be perfect. Then I had Ewallet which is a password, bank info, credit card, etc information that you could put in it to remember all your passwords and such. I have not found anything like a password keeper for the Droid. Does anyone know if either of these programs exsists, hopefully free but willing to pay if I have to? Or has anyone heard if someone is making a program like these for the Android platform?
