Motorola Droid :: IRC Clients That Work With Venison’s Network?

Nov 7, 2009

Are there any IRC clients that work with the Droid/Verizon's network? I can connect to my usual server via its CGI-IRC web application, but none of the Android applications will connect; it just times out.

Motorola Droid :: Work On Another Network?

Oct 4, 2010

Is it possible to get the droid to work on another network and if so would changing roms or even loading a nandroid backup kill the flash that got it to work on the other network or is that info stored like the base band is and never changes unless you do want it to?

I know this is a shot in the dark but there is almost always someone on here that knows so I thought I would try.

Motorola Droid X :: New Venison Commercial?

Jun 28, 2010

As we know, Verizon dropped the wireless part of their name and they have adopted this "Rule the Air" thing. I saw a commercial earlier and I wanted to know the phone they were showing in the commercial was it a Droid X? Has anyone seen the commercial? I think it was a Droid x because the electronics around the street were becoming animated and moving around and plus the phone in the person's hand looked way to big to be any of verizons other current phones. Idk lol maybe i am just anxious for the X

Motorola Droid :: Venison Wireless FRG22d

Aug 24, 2010

Verizon Wireless is supposed to be releasing FRG22d today (Aug. 24th 2010) I want to know if there is any way to save all of my settings that I use in Handcent SMS because I have done a factory reset about 3 or 4 times now and handcent is always my biggest problem when reinstalling my apps, just because of all of the custom settings. Is there a way to save these settings to my SD card or something to be automatically applied after the factory reset and cache wipe?

Android :: Inbuilt VPN Not Work For Cisco Clients

May 31, 2010

I am using vpnc on my computer to connect on my university VPN. Once again, the configuration is not straightforward, but, mainly, I use IPSec, I have an ID for the VPN, a gateway URL, a secret word, IKE Authmode of PSK, IKE DH Group, Xauth username, Xauth password, I need to enable Single DES, and I have two 'target networks'.

The fact is that Android (2.1)'s built-in VPN does not ask me all these info. It keeps asking for a pre-shared key (this is evidently the contrary of the certificate method), but I do not have such a pre-shared key. Connecting (to the VPN) through my computer works perfectly. What can I do to make Android compatible with the VPN?

Motorola Droid :: 3rd Venison Phone - Decent Specifications

Nov 5, 2009

Except perhaps screen side camera for video chat. Specs Third Verizon Android Phone has Video Calling? | Android Phone Fans. When I said looks like junk--i mean the actual look of it--not the specs which are decent and the keyboard looks better than droid. 20.3 mm thick. Droid is 13.7. CPU is the Marvell PXA 310, 624MHz. Seems there are two faster versions of this cpu. So this may be old tech. Update: Released in 2007 according to link.

Motorola Droid X :: Venison VCast Media Manager - 32bit Only

Aug 18, 2010

I downloaded the Motorola USB connection driver and now when I connect my phone it automatically opens V-Cast media manager via the computer browser. Only problem the site works with 32-bit OS only and mine is 64. So, how do I get the computer to recognize my device so I can access the media? It doesn't do the "view files on this device" and doesn't show the phone under 'computer'. EDIT: Set phone to 'PC-Mode' and driver will eventually load, causing a computer restart and then the device shows on the computer.

Another problem: I can access the phone files now but it says there are no pictures or videos on the device and there certainly are? Trying Windows media sync mode now. This shit is screwy! Well, that worked. OMG what a pain in the ass with the USB settings!

Motorola Droid :: Any Good Torrent Clients For Android?

Jan 9, 2010

I'm not looking for a program that communicates with my computer or seedbox, I have Torrent-Fu already for that. I'm wondering if there are any decent torrent clients for Android so I can just download a torrent right over my 3G connection. Searching torrent in the Market only gets one client that costs $5 and apparently is missing key features. Are there maybe some good .apk packaged torrent clients out there not in the Market? I'd assume that Vuze (as mediocre as it is), being written in Java, could be ported fairly easily as well.

Motorola Droid X :: Any Android Mail Clients With Real Exchange Support?

Jul 20, 2010

Here's my issue: Came from a windows mobile phone. However, one area winmo is obviously good at is exchange support. Here's what I mean:
I regularly receive and forward large attachments (PDFS - usually 10 megs or so), and the winmo phone made it easy to do so when out of the office. I'd just hit forward and away it would go. The phone would tell the exchange server to forward the mail, and it was done. The phone never actually downloaded any attachments to forward, unless of course I wanted to download it for viewing.

I've found this phone instead of just telling the exchange server to forward the message actually has to download the attachment, then resend the attachment. This is stupidity in it's fullest when working with a 10 meg attachment. Instead of taking a split second to forward something it'll take minutes to download, then minutes to upload, and obviously shorten battery life considerably. So my question is - am I missing settings, or is the installed mail application not able to do so - and are there any android mail applications that will forward attachments off an exchange server without actually downloading the attachment first?

TwonkyMedia Goes Mobile with Android Launch at CES | Business Wire

I downloaded and installed from the Android Market. When you first start the app, it scans your phone for media. I turned on my Droid's Wifi. The TwonkyServer Mobile was immediately visible to any DLNA or UPnP client. It took 2 minutes. No setup was involved. The UI looks pretty cool too.

HTC Incredible :: Venison Extended Battery

Jul 29, 2010

My dilemma is not with Android, but the Dinc. I absolutely love Android and will definitely be staying on Verizon and with a Droid phone. I have, however, had the Incredible since launch day. I love pretty much everything about this phone, except the battery life. I really cannot stand the constant need to be near a charger for fear of my phone dying. Should I buy the Verizon extended battery for another $60 and deal w the clunky bulk or get the Droid X or Samsung Fascinate. I think i can get a good price for this phone on eBay w it being an original in mint condition and there still a shortage. What should I do? Is it too early to go for the Samsung? I will miss HTC Sense.

HTC Droid Eris :: Mobile Network ON - Can't See That Have Any Network Traffic Or Any Apps Running In Background That Are Syncing Data At All

May 29, 2010

My eris has always has pretty alright battery life, what I would expect out of a smartphone, if unplugged at 9AM it usually was running on its last leg around midnight. I've had it for over 5 months now, I've always had it activated on alltel, I installed the 2.1v3 leak before the official OTA was out and just lately it seems like there something very wrong with my battery life...

If I unplug my phone at 9AM within the past week and occasionaly check and respond to a text message, my battery had been down to almost 30% by NOON... what?..

I have noticed that if I disable Mobile Network (3g/1x data), the thing lasts all day and some... If I turn mobile network ON, I can't see that I have any network traffic or any apps running in the background that are syncing data at all... I've had google account sync mess up on me before and have to reset my google account because it gets stuck in a syncing loop, but its not doing that, already checked. Very weird.

Anyone thing it could be something wrong in my ##PROGRAM#/##778# provisioning menu, maybe something got changed?.. Maybe it could be do to Alltel's AT&T merger that's happening right now, maybe some 3G tower's radios are turned off or something...

Stopped at the Verizon store wondering if there was something going on with the network, and was told no. They played with the phone a bit, then dialed into the network to reprogram the phone into the system using *228 80.Is this common? Is this a possible phone issue or an account issue?
