Motorola Droid X :: New Venison Commercial?

Jun 28, 2010

As we know, Verizon dropped the wireless part of their name and they have adopted this "Rule the Air" thing. I saw a commercial earlier and I wanted to know the phone they were showing in the commercial was it a Droid X? Has anyone seen the commercial? I think it was a Droid x because the electronics around the street were becoming animated and moving around and plus the phone in the person's hand looked way to big to be any of verizons other current phones. Idk lol maybe i am just anxious for the X

Motorola Droid :: Venison Wireless FRG22d

Aug 24, 2010

Verizon Wireless is supposed to be releasing FRG22d today (Aug. 24th 2010) I want to know if there is any way to save all of my settings that I use in Handcent SMS because I have done a factory reset about 3 or 4 times now and handcent is always my biggest problem when reinstalling my apps, just because of all of the custom settings. Is there a way to save these settings to my SD card or something to be automatically applied after the factory reset and cache wipe?

Motorola Droid :: 3rd Venison Phone - Decent Specifications

Except perhaps screen side camera for video chat. Specs Third Verizon Android Phone has Video Calling? | Android Phone Fans. When I said looks like junk--i mean the actual look of it--not the specs which are decent and the keyboard looks better than droid. 20.3 mm thick. Droid is 13.7. CPU is the Marvell PXA 310, 624MHz. Seems there are two faster versions of this cpu. So this may be old tech. Update: Released in 2007 according to link.

Motorola Droid X :: Venison VCast Media Manager - 32bit Only

Aug 18, 2010

I downloaded the Motorola USB connection driver and now when I connect my phone it automatically opens V-Cast media manager via the computer browser. Only problem the site works with 32-bit OS only and mine is 64. So, how do I get the computer to recognize my device so I can access the media? It doesn't do the "view files on this device" and doesn't show the phone under 'computer'. EDIT: Set phone to 'PC-Mode' and driver will eventually load, causing a computer restart and then the device shows on the computer.

Another problem: I can access the phone files now but it says there are no pictures or videos on the device and there certainly are? Trying Windows media sync mode now. This shit is screwy! Well, that worked. OMG what a pain in the ass with the USB settings!

Android :: How To Activate Network In Phone App?

Oct 30, 2010

I am developing an application that use the GPS and the geolocalion. So, during the application launch, I have to be sure that the user has activated the network and GPS. If he didn't tested 2 solutions : Ask the user to activate them himself (so the application quit, and the user has to reload it) Redirect the user in the corresponding view in order to activate them ( via something like "android.provider.Settings.ACTION_LOCATION_SOURCE_SETTINGS " )
The second solution is better to my mind but can be very boring for the user if he has to activate the Network + the GPS + Nework localisation That's why I ask if it is not possible to activate all that automatically if it is not possible ? I think it is possible because it exists widget that let the user activate network, gps etc... but how can we do that in the application?

Motorola Droid X :: Set Bluetooth To Activate With The Car Dock App?

Jul 26, 2010

I read the thread at http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting-incredible/85052-bluetooth-battery-consumption.html and noticed everyone saying that BT significantly drains your battery when on but not in use. It seems like a huge pain to have to press an icon everytime I get in the car and everytime I leave to turn it back on, especially since I don't get too many calls while I'm driving. Is there a way to have BT cut on when the car dock app is activated (I have the Motorola car dock app)? And if not, does anyone know if the drain in battery on the DX is significant?

Motorola Droid :: Accidental - Activate Search Feature

Dec 14, 2009

This may have already been discovered but this weekend while holding my Droid I stumbled upon a cool (maybe useless) feature. If you have the "Google Search" shortcut on your home screen like I do, all you have to do is lightly shake the Droid to activate the search feature. You have to be on the same home screen as the Google Search shortcut. The weird thing is I cannot reproduce my findings 100% of the time. For instance, this morning it worked 7 out of 10 times.

Motorola Droid :: Line Via Phandroid/Verizon Wireless - Won't Activate

Nov 8, 2009

I bought my Droid on line via Phandroid/Verizon Wireless just after midnight on Friday and filled out all the info, picked a Verizon plan, gave them my current cell number (which is an AT&T Mobile number) and checked the boxes that said "yes, please port my old number on to my new Verizon phone".

So I get the phone today (superfast -- I hadn't even paid for overnight delivery). But when I follow the instructions to activate, the activation fails. I touch the Droid on the touchscreen, it brings up the phone, I follow the voice prompts and dial my cell number, but it doesn't work.

Spoke with a VW customer service rep (late night Saturday night). He gave me a different customer service # to call on Sunday for help with "porting."

I sure hope I get this straightened out quickly. Maybe I should've just bought the Droid at a Verizon store and let the VW store guys activate it for me.

The VW customer service rep was saying I should see a "temporary Verizon cell #" somewhere on my receipt or packing slip. But there isn't any. Just the mobile # that I'm trying to port over from AT&T.

Did I do something wrong when I ordered the phone? Or is it normal for there to be a delay in getting the old # ported?

Motorola Droid :: What Plan Do I Need To Activate Droid On Verizon?

Dec 23, 2009

I'm looking to pick up a Droid (with no contract... my wallet says ouch) but its okay because I can partially offset the costs by selling my current phone) . My family made the rushed decision to switch to Verizon in October and I ended up getting the Samsung Rogue. I currently have the family plan + a basic texting plan (200 or 300 messages a month, I forgot which one lol) + 25MB Basic Data. Would I be able to activate the Droid via the Verizon website or by phone without having to add anything extra. I know they will probably ask me to get the unlimited data, but I was wondering if there is anyway around this? I really like my rogue, but it doesn't compare to Droid. The rogue has no wifi , and its GPS is completely limited due to VZW Navigator, Not to mention the Android OS + Apps + 5MP Camera

Motorola Droid X :: Back To Work Properly

Aug 10, 2010

A quick list of why this is not working to my knowledge, then a list of things i have done. All of which could be solved if we could reflash roms. Sadface,I got my phone and rooted, system dumped. So i have every apk.I cannot use default messanging.apk it fc, calendar was fcing on opening events or adding new, it now works i, reinstalled all calendar apks, and started using jorte so it did not matter anymore. I cannot add new accounts, receive mms (fixed post 3). Handcent can do everything but recieve MMS with out the stock messaging application. I cannot open stock messaging (fixed post 3), or the stock home application. I have to use launcher pro.I installed the core bloatware city id and blockbuster. And hard reset that's when alot of this default apps stopped working. The phone was worse before the hard reset. I think if i uninstall all my apps. Leave su and busybox, install all the system apks, format sdcard, reload su busy box, and any additional all root files that are needed, i can hard reset to a perfect stock phone with root and start over only renaming system apks one at a time with a reboot in between to guarantee things work properly.

Motorola Droid X :: Dialer Not Working Properly

Jul 22, 2010

I had to call in to the automated system and enter my jury ID number and pin. The ID number is 9 digits and the pin is 4 digits. When punching these numbers in using the stock dialer, the system I was calling kept messing up. It didn't prompt me like it should, and when it read my entries back to me, they were wrong. The system would report that I'd entered 88 when I'd entered 80 or something. I tried this 3 or so times before I started to think my phone was the problem. I called back with another phone and it worked fine (it was some old Motorola phone but I've actually interacted with this system using my iPhone 3G in the past just fine). I called the system back with my X and, this time, punched in the numbers slowly (half a second or so between key presses). This time, everything went swimmingly. I haven't replicated this on other automated systems, but it's clear at least one of them has a problem with the X's stock dialer when it's used quickly. Anyone have a similar problem?

The correct answer is .80. This may seem like a minor point (.000001 error) but the answer is still wrong! Basic arithmetic operations should be a no brainer.A Verizon service rep confirmed this error on the Droid and Eris phones he had in their call center.
