Nov 19, 2009browsers working fine on wifi, so dont think its my Droid. been getting constant timeouts when trying over 3g though. getting full bars also.

Motorola Droid X :: MMS Can Only Be Sent Over Network?
Jul 17, 2010Why is it that MMS can only be sent through the network and not WIFI on the droid X? On the Evo I was able to send MMS messages through WIFI even if I had no network connection?

May 29, 2010My eris has always has pretty alright battery life, what I would expect out of a smartphone, if unplugged at 9AM it usually was running on its last leg around midnight. I've had it for over 5 months now, I've always had it activated on alltel, I installed the 2.1v3 leak before the official OTA was out and just lately it seems like there something very wrong with my battery life...
If I unplug my phone at 9AM within the past week and occasionaly check and respond to a text message, my battery had been down to almost 30% by NOON... what?..
I have noticed that if I disable Mobile Network (3g/1x data), the thing lasts all day and some... If I turn mobile network ON, I can't see that I have any network traffic or any apps running in the background that are syncing data at all... I've had google account sync mess up on me before and have to reset my google account because it gets stuck in a syncing loop, but its not doing that, already checked. Very weird.
Anyone thing it could be something wrong in my ##PROGRAM#/##778# provisioning menu, maybe something got changed?.. Maybe it could be do to Alltel's AT&T merger that's happening right now, maybe some 3G tower's radios are turned off or something...
Motorola Droid X :: Disconnect From Network?
Jul 31, 2010This morning I noticed the phone wasn't getting 3g, and I had 1-2 bars at most. I couldn't make or receive any calls even though I did have a couple bars. Stopped at the Verizon store wondering if there was something going on with the network, and was told no. They played with the phone a bit, then dialed into the network to reprogram the phone into the system using *228 80.Is this common? Is this a possible phone issue or an account issue?

Jul 2, 2010After updating basebands and flashing several ROMs I had noticed degradation in both reception and battery life. Since I was OC'd I chalked up my poorer battery life as a side effect to my love for speed. The new basebands were probably necessary for Froyo compatibility, but since my knowledge is limited in that area, I can't be sure. Either way, my reception suffered. During one of the times my signal dropped, I decided to look into my network settings and noticed under Mobile Network Settings/System select, that my phone was set to Automatic instead of Home only. After selecting Home only, my reception improved as well as my battery life. The better battery life I attribute to the phone not looking for a signal as often and am so much happier now that I've found this. Just thought I post my experience and see if anyone else has had similar results.

Apr 4, 2010I am trying to get the Neural Network LWP to work on my droid. I am using BB v.9 and I don't really like the nexus lwp as much as the neural one. I have the LiveWallpaper.apk (From bb v.5 I believe) that includes the neural network. I pushed to it /system/app and it seemed to work except when I tried to set the wallpaper it forced closed and showed a black image. Any idea on how I could get this LWP I really like it.

Motorola Droid :: Work On Another Network?
Oct 4, 2010Is it possible to get the droid to work on another network and if so would changing roms or even loading a nandroid backup kill the flash that got it to work on the other network or is that info stored like the base band is and never changes unless you do want it to?
I know this is a shot in the dark but there is almost always someone on here that knows so I thought I would try.
Motorola Droid :: Network Drops Out / Fix It?
Feb 10, 2010I notice this more when Handcent/Chomp are installed but even without it seems that sometimes my phone just stops replicating. TXTS not gotten, emails not coming in emails not being sent (this is when I really notice it) Power cycle the phone and presto everything is back to working.
Example, I just restarted my phone and the email that was hanging was sent the very second it started back up then 51 emails came into my inbox
Anyone else have these issues? If not I think I'm gonna have to call VZW about another phone coming my way.
Motorola Droid X :: Connect To Network Share?
Nov 1, 2010I did search the forums for this, but couldn't find anything helpful.Maybe I'm not using the right terminology.I have a rooted DX and I want to be able to connect to a share on my home network with Root Explorer. I can do this using the stock "Files" application by going to Shared Folders Add Server. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it with Root Explorer.The device I want to connect to (ReadyNAS Duo) supports CIFS and NFS, and I don't care which one of those I use if that helps.

Dec 3, 2009Been running with my Droid now for 3 weeks and I'm finally going to start playing with running wifi at work (my cube and only my cube I have 3g issues ) and I connected to it a couple days ago. Our network admin in his infinite wisdom created a pass key that is like 46 characters long. So I entered it, and was connected. Fast forward to today, I enabled wifi again and tried connecting to the network and it asked me for the pass key again. Does it now save that? Is it supposed to? I would assume that would be a pretty big PITA that every time I want to connect to wireless network that I've connected to before it re-asks me my password.

Oct 11, 2010I have a Motorola Droid that I FULLY FLASHED(all the features) to Metro PCS about 4 weeks ago and it hasn't had any problems until now. I know Metro Flashed phones are only supposed to have all the features but just talk and text but come on,I got it specially programmed you know for full features.what's the point in having an awesome state of the art phone if you can't do crap with it? For some odd reason since yesterday morning,the phone's internet connection has been off.There is no icon of 1x or 3g,etc.In settings it says Mobile Network Connecting and later it says it has disconnected. WHat should I do?Believe it or not,I called metro and they kept on giving me the run-around.I'm guessing I wasn't going to get anything out of them because this flashing thing is kind of 'under the counter'.Should I call the programmer about this problem?Factory Default/Reset? I actually love my phone this time around.I use the internet a lot and this is like killing me.I feel 'blind'.lol.Plus I got this new Assassin's Creed game I need to install. I don't know what's wrong. :-/ :-S I know I have my Wifi turned off btw.

Sep 19, 2010While I've never dropped a call and I alway have 3G I always have either zero or one bar of signal showing. And my battery hits yellow midday with fairly light usage. Compared to my old house about 2 miles away (just moved last week) I would have full bars and my batter would last 16hrs before hitting yellow. So I think I need a network booster. First, do they actually work? Second, if so what is a good recommendation. Third, do they boost boost data evdo signal too or just voice?

Oct 6, 2010I just recently got the D2 after having the D1 for a year. I loved the D1 and loving the D2 as well, except for a couple of minor issues, but one that is really bugging me is the speed of the network on the D2. I've tested with the D1 and was getting over 1Mbps frequently. I have tried in numerous locations, different parts of the city, different times of days, and keep getting very slow test results. On the status bar it reads 3G, and the tests come back at 129kbps, 102, 165. Horrible IMO. I have *228 many times, is there anything else I'm missing? Or is this a known problem? I've searched and came up with nada.

Since the first day we have gotten them we have been getting this message, "a network error has occurred retry or cancel and return to the previous screen." This happens 2 or 3 times a day at least over 3G and wifi. Anything using the Internet won't work including the market and the browser. From what I have researched a lot of people have been getting this error but I haven't found a fix yet, anybody know what I could do?

Motorola Droid :: How To Replace Network Name In A Theme
Sep 23, 2010I am currently trying to build a custom theme for myself (I may share if it turns out the way I hope it does) and noticed that a lot of the themes are changing the Network name from Verizon to *insert whatever change is made here*.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make that change. I have looked through build.prop and have browsed the other files in the root area and cannot figure out where that change is made.
