I lost the phone icon off of my screen. I have looked through the applications and I don't see anything to put the shortcut back on my screen. How do I get a phone icon back on my screen?

After the update when i hit the phone icon, the "favorites" icon used to be at the bottom right after the green call tab. now there is an icon for call history.
i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?
anybody figure out how to get the favorite icon back on the phone screen?
When i go to create, it goes back to previous screen and does not create icon...any guidance?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've had my Moto Droid since it basically came out last Nov and I have never ever run into a problem with the phone until last night. I had a phone call and after I got off the phone, I noticed my droid reseted itself and it wasn't going back to the home screen. Meaning it would just display the word "Droid" then go right into the droid red eye screen, then right back to the word Droid and just kept repeating itself.
I took the battery out and put it back in, but it kept doing the same thing. I am really not sure what would cause my phone to do this, but the only new change I can think of was that I installed the "TMZ" application to my droid about 3 hours prior to this happening. But the application worked fine and I really hope it wasn't because of that. Is there anything I can do before going to Verizon? I would really hate giving up my phone with all my stuff in it, but I know theres probably not much I can do if I cant even get to the home screen.
My screen keeps coming on while the phone is locked then it will go off and come back on like 2-5 sec later just an endless cycle. This is a factory 2.2 droid x with 2.2. Have launcher pro and some stuff on it did a virus scan with AVG said it was clean what gives here?

Anyway, at the bottom of the screen where the phone, apps and browser icons are, theres little dots on either side. Pushing one side or the other scrolls the screen to that direction but if you push both sides at the same time, icons for all five home screens will pop up and you can pick the one you want to go to instead of scrolling through the pages.

1.) Is there any way to view all the songs that have played on the station I created?
2.) If I accidentally hit the "thumbs down" icon on a song can I somehow go back and change that?
I listened to ~20 songs before I noticed the "bookmark" feature and didn't write a bunch of the good ones down... and I also hit the dislike button accidentally on a really good song but can't remember the name

My brother says it helps protect the back of the screen from the slide out mechanism.I'm asking because some of it is starting to come off through regular use and I'm wondring if it's gonna be a problem if it is necessary and it all comes off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm on the phone and talk for over 15 mins or so my screen won't come back on.It goes off when I put it against my head like it is supposed to and comes back on when I pull it away like it should. But after 15 mins or so it goes off and wont come back on when I pull it away. So I can't end my call and when it's time to end the call of course I can't, nor can I get a call waiting. I had my phone's display set to time out after 10 mins then changed that to never time out but it still does this. However this setting shouldn't matter I wouldn't think, but it doesn't help either way. I'm having to do a battery pull to get my screen back,I have no other issues other than this. I hope I don't have to take it back! Will this be fixed on the December update? I plan on putting a call into Verizon tech support later but wanted to get your thoughts. Any ideas?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI dunno if this has been mentioned elsewhere,but as of a week or 2 ago,I've noticed the "invisible shield" (for lack of a better term?) on the backside of my screen is bubbling.I don't know if this is because I pop open the screen too often (coming from a Sidekick for 6 yrs,I use the physical keyboard constantly),or if its that, combined with the incredible amount of heat I've been experiencing lately from the CPU area.Either way.anyone else having this issue?

-all missed calls
-voicemails
-facebook msgs
-texts
-email

View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't know how I did it, but on my home screen, originally I saw this:with the phone on the left, 2nd home screen to get to all the apps, and the contacts button to the right with the 5-7 screens.somehow I got it on some "Linux" mode where when I press anywhere on the screen, it will shrink to three small windows, two of which are empty and 1 of the windows only displays the following icons: Droid Market, Browser, and Maps along with a dock at the bottom. I want to go back to the way it was beforehand. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I went to backup my app last night via Batch, and the Backup all user apps like I always do. But when I hit run, it just takes me back to whatever screen I was on before. When i go to the Display options I unclick the button for 30 seconds, click 2 minutes, then exit. A little while later the screen goes off and I go back to the Display settings and it is back at 30 seconds again. I downloaded Handcent SMS. Which I LOVE btw. It makes messaging so much better. However, I want to either change the Icon, or the Text below it. It's smaller and stick out like a sore thumb. And shit the icon down, it's a bit too "high" in comparison to my other icons.
How can I do this?
This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
Whenever I back out of a screen mainly txt msg, I get something highlighted in orange, and when I back out into the home screen it does the same thing. Usually it highlights either the phone shortcut or the wifi icon in my power bar.

So I was wondering if it's possible to change out the capacitive phone button on the main screen to something more useful for me, or would I need something a little beefier than root access, like a whole new rom?
Also, would it be possible to create a capacitive back button on the screen to replace the mechanical back button?
does anyone know if it's possible to make a phone dock on the bottom of the screen like on the incredible. i mean, i think it's kind of ridiculous that this isn't standard....
