May 13, 2010I have a Druid and a I'm wondering when I get a Google Calendar invite via G mail and accept it it pops up asking me what program to use. The list includes a browser and Calendar so I'm sure it's one of these but which is it for sure to set it to default? It also seems to ask a few times so it might need a certain combination of programs to work w/o a hitch. Maybe calendar first to update my calendar with the appointment/meeting then a browser to send a notification to the sender that I've accepted or? Anyone know for sure so I can set them to default properly so I don't have to randomly guess several times each time I get an invite?

Android :: Stop An SMS From Being Sent From Default SMS Client?
Nov 18, 2009I have read a few posts about somehow intercepting the outgoing SMS.
after some googling i was able to intercept the outgoing SMS by getting the outbox.
Now the problem is that when the SMS comes to outbox i try to delete it at the same time, the API shows that the row was deleted from outbox but it is sent to the desired phone number as well :S.
I was thinking of changing the SMS center number programatically and i didn't get a clue. more over if there is a way the outbound sms can be stopped before being sent.

May 17, 2010I'm having the same issue as listed below from a post on Android Central. Thought I'd check here to see if anyone has had this as well. I've edited the post to reflect my issues. Link to original thread: HTC Mail Memory Leak/Bug ("Phone Storage Getting Low") - Android Central Forums. "I have reason to believe that HTC Mail has a significant memory leak or bug which is causing all of the "Phone storage is getting low" messages. I've had the phone for 3 weeks as of this Thursday. My setup is 2 POP3 email accounts configured during the initial setup in HTC Mail. At around 110-115 megs it triggers the "phone storage low" message. The problem is that as far as I can tell, there's no way to reduce the file size of this HTC mail app once this process has started.
I've deleted every shred of email, all In-boxes, all sent, all trash all everything from every mail folder for every account - no reduction in app size. I trashed every shred of email from the system and the HTC mail app still hovered around 110megs (and the phone storage low indicators continuing). After researching the issue online and piecing 2+2 together I realized that the only solution is to wipe the phone. The issue there is that there are no guarantees that the issue wouldn't resurface again (actually it's quite likely).
Bottom line: HTC mail seems to have a very significant memory leak or bug that causes it to blow through its allocated memory at an alarming pace and there is very little that can be done to stop it once it's started. I would strongly recommend to those of you with the above issues to not use HTC mail after wiping the phone".
Sprint HTC Hero :: How To Turn Off OEM Default Messaging Program?
Oct 22, 2009I installed Handcent because of the battery drain issue, and like it a lot, but now I cannot turn off the OEM Messages program. I tried going into the Settings>Applications>Manage Applications to turn it off, and it doesn't work. I also did the "Use Handcent as default SMS" when that box first pops up. I get two different ringtone notifications too. Although I switched the ringer to the same one both through the phone's settings and through Handcent's settings.

However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?

Sep 30, 2010On my Droid 1 and Fascinate, I am able to program in my Voice Dial password and long press 1 on the dialer keypad to call voicemail and have my password entered automatically.I can still enter my password in the X's Menu, Settings, Call Settings, Voicemail Settings, Voicemail Number. However, the dialer that comes up when I press the shortcut icon I have setup in my LP dock brings up the Blur dialer? Whatever it is, the voicemail password does not get entered automatically and I have to still manually enter my password.Does anyone know how to get the VM password to enter automatically, or to disable the Blur dialer and get the stock Android dialer back?

Aug 20, 2012I have contact pictures for my contacts that I have chosen and assigned to my contacts manually and are stored as the Google contact picture, I have an issue with the facebook app when it syncs a facebook profile picture update the application forces the contacts default picture to be the facebook picture.
I don't want it to do this, it can change the facebook linked contact picture but why does it have to change the contacts default picture?? Is there some way this can be blocked or stopped from within Android contacts??
This has been prevalent since before I can remember with the facebook app and sync. Surely submitting a bug to facebook is not the solution as we SHOULD be able to control and/or lock portions of our contacts details..

Jun 30, 2010So I loaded the new release of froyo petes v.04 and earlier when trying to use the built in wired tether option it defaults to a web-page about upgrading to a tethering plan. It says that they are offering it for $5 off until july 15th. Wireless tether still works fine but just wanted to know if anybody else got this message when using the built in program on the new froyo release. I was able to use this option in the earlier versions of froyo without the message. Update, so I completely missed this already reported on phandroid so I guess I was just getting the message others have already reported.

Dec 8, 2009I tried Home++ yesterday and didn't like it too much although I may just have to try it again. I didn't care for that "power strip" in Home++ either (can you turn it off?). I wished it would import all the icons from my regular home screen into Home++ so I don't have to re-create everything. Does anyone else out there have a better home screen replacement program? I saw people talking about GDE but I couldn't find the actual application in the Market Place. I also looked at the Panda Home but from the screen shots, it looked weird. I like the plain-jane version that came with my phone. I don't want fancy skins or colors or bells and whistles.
