View 4 RepliesJust wondering if I really need to run an anti virus on my Droid? If I root using the new one touch root available on the market could I then run set CPU or do I have to run a different ROM to use it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedGoogle verify apps now has an always on scanning mechanism for catching harmful apps, but little is talked about if this is all you need now, negating the need for a 3rd party virus protector or not. So what the ideal config is with this now?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I downloaded antivirus free by droidSecurity inc.I ran a scan and it said I had something suspicious but would not allow me to view any details. Eh lame, I removed the app and jumped into bed.Today I was out driving around and got a warning my internal Phone memory was low. I took a look and it said 150 MB free.so I rebooted the phone and maybe I was being dumb because I thought you could cancel the SIM password and use the device as a PDA with no access to make phone calls.Anyhow I restored my clockwork recovery nandroid backup from a couple of days ago and now things seem better. Phone has 0.9 GB free. Are there any good applications to help manage the available memory on the phone?

View 12 Replies View Relatedim privileged to be one of the few people in my circle of friends that own a droid and i blow them away in many feature comparisons as they all have iphones or blackberries but i noticed through the apple app store there were many cool apps where you can just shake the phone for certain features like wake-ups notifications and even being used in popular games just wondering what Android has that has that kinda cool "shake" feature i think it would be sweet.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI just got the droid eris and i wanted to know which apps are the "must haves". apps that can save me time or make my phone run faster. Apps that you think are important.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I'm using the eris it seems to be messing up 80% percent of the it freezes up completely on me, it scrolls by itself, and when m texting it loves to just stop working...I use this eris as my work phone i have to text my boss a lot and with my phone screwing up sometimes it takes me 10 min. just to send a text..also i performed a factory reset and my phones still doing the same exact thing..what should i do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a good program to backup your all your apps, files, shortcuts, bookmarks and personal settings. I know Astro has a "backup" function but I don't know what it actually backs up. I know you can back up your contacts Google.
I guess what I'm asking is if there's a way to "clone" your Droid, not just the SD card.
Does anyone use them and are they still needed? I have heard that Android has built in virus protection. In another I read that Android is not capable of getting viruses. Can anyone elaborate on this?

View 11 Replies View RelatedTwo weeks ago I got the Clarivue ultra-clear screen protector and wrote a review which can be read here. I wanted to try the anti-glare version so I e-mailed Clarivue and they happily exchanged my ultra-clear for an anti-glare version. They sent me the anti-glare version first so that my screen could remain protected in agreement that I would send back the ultra-clear protector. So now this review will cover Clarivue's anti-glare screen protector. Packaging was the same as the ultra-clear protector, so I will not post pictures of the package, only pictures of the protector on the phone. Two different backgrounds so that you can compare the color and contrast with the protector on. I apologize for the blurriness of the second picture.
The application process: Application of this product was still very simple. This time around, however, I applied the protector while the hot water from my shower was steaming my bathroom. It helped with the dust a bit though I still managed to get two little pieces in there. I easily got rid of them with some tape.
Fit:...............
I had one on my old Storm, and I liked it, but I thought I'd post here first to see if any Droid owners have installed it yet. I hate the glare I get on my phone (and fingerprints too), especially while docked in my car. I know this will help but I was a bit hesitant. Anyone have it installed?

View 32 Replies View Related-It came quickly
-Installation was very simple (sans flimsiness, see cons), it's a tad smaller so it's easy to get on.
-Came with awesome equipment for installation, like latex finger covers
-Totally fingerprint resistant, as to be expected with anti glare
-It's definitely ANTI-glare
-Really thin, so no sensitivity is lost
-Feels EXTREMELY smooth, I prefer the feel to the standard glass
CONS:
-Makes the screen have a terrible rainbow effect on all lighter screens, a lot worse than I expected, I have an anti glare on my iPod Touch that I LOVE, it doesn't do this rainbow effect nearly as bad. I don't know if it's the screen of the products, or just the difference in protectors, but it's noticeable. Note: I also keep little to no brightness on either of them -There seems to be no adhesive anywhere around the edges of the film, because even with the protector dead center there is a border of bubble (well it just doesn't lay flat). Though if you use a case this would be nonexistant as it would probably cover it -The thinness is a tradeoff, because while it does help with the sensitivity, it's a PIA to put on cause it's so flimsy. So yeah, overall I'm content with it, but it could be much better. I just have to have anti-glare, cause to me I can't STAND fingerprints. Actually the anti-glare I could care less about, these might as well be called anti-fingerprint to me.
