My phone freezes 2/3 times a day. The remedy is to take the battery out and reboot. This usually happens when I'm using the camera, or trying to view saved photos, or gallery.Does anyone else has the same thing? What's the best way to over come this?

So I just flashed the FlyX ROM and when I reboot my phone it goes into Clockwork Recovery which is fine...I select reboot phone and then after about 45 seconds of everything booting and setting up it freezes...can't do anything but a battery pull. Should I select backup and restore in CWRecovery and do the restore? Will that save my ass or am I going to have to SBF it...I really DON'T want to SBF it but if I have to I guess I will have to set it all up...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was going to post this in the ApeX ROM thread, but I felt it was way too long and no one would read it. I would just like to add that I don't think this is a problem with the ROM, it's my phone. If you haven't tried ApeX yet, you should because it's awesome.
I'm getting a weird "soft reboot." That's the only way I can explain it. My phone freezes, and then reboots. The weird thing is that in the about phone it will have a continuous up-time. For example it would say up-time: 4h 36m when it froze and rebooted 5 minutes ago.
The other weird thing is that at 1.1Ghz, I can do a 20 minute stress test with zero problems. But a couple minutes later while unlocking my phone or texting it reboots.
It isn't just this ROM or just being overclocked either. I've always had this problem with 2.2. I turned off overclocking, and I've been going strong for about 10 minutes but I doubt it will last.
Did the stock voltages change between 2.1 and 2.2? Is it possible that my phone just sucks and can't handle the new voltages?
Lately when I open a contact the phone freezes up as soon as it gets to the screen where it lists all my options for that particular contact (call, text, etc...). It makes no difference whether I search for the contact in the Google bar (which I enabled), if I open them from my "Starred Contacts" folder, or if I open them directly from the contacts list... no difference.
It doesn't happen every time but i'd say it's about 70% of the time, which is very frustrating. The phone locks up for probably about ten to fifteen seconds and then asks if I want to F/C or wait, if I click wait then everything is back to normal and i'm good to go.
Now since yesterday I have installed Beautiful Widgets (which I have heard nothing but good things about), Home++ and Better Keyboard. All of those apps seem to be reliable and not only that but i've actually gone through and removed all apps I didn't really need just to see if possibly one of them was causing the problem.
I am running Bugles Beast v0.9 (although when I go into Phone Info it says "Build number Bugles Beast 1.2"). Anyway, I downloaded the Chevy 5 slot 1GHz kernel and named it update.zip and when I install it says it's installing fine but when I go to reboot my phone freezes up at the Motorola screen. I have even tried changing to frequencies supported by the kernel (250, 550) but it still won't work...keeps freezing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to log into my youtube account on my Droid, it freezes up. I will open the Youtube app, press menu and click My account. Then it has 2 choices: 1) My email address, 2) Add account. When I click on my email it freezes up and eventually the Droid gives me the option to "Force close" it, as it is not responding. I also tried "Add account" and typed in my email address (which had already shown up as the first choice) and password, and it said "authenticating" and then froze up too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running BB 0.4 and have been for some time.I use the multimedia dock that launches the clock.apk. The proplem I have is when I hit the dim button for when I go to sleep after a while the screen times out. It lasts for quite some time so it makes me think that once the phone hits 100% it defaults to my 1 minute screen time out because the phone stays on for at least an hour (I know this because ill plug it in and watch some tv then go to bed)Back when I was on nexbeast or before froyo I used to hit the dim then eventually it would default to a clock that would kind of bounce around the screen.I dont want to go back to nexbeast but surprisingly enough this is making me angry. I want to be able to use the clock for my room and the alarm clock but I also want to be able to dim the screen so I can sleep.

I know that "at times" doesn't mean it's a slow processor but vs. the incredible which is being touted as the phone that blows through any task with ease I was wondering which phone has better performance.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter some hours of being on/being used/whatever, my Droid X occasionally freezes when I press the voice-to-text button on the Swype keyboard, as well as the same button on the search widget (basically anything that uses the voice-to-text service). The rotating symbol is shown on the screen, but it's frozen, and so is the rest of my phone unless I hit home. I don't have a task manager running, and restarting the phone allows me to use voice-to-text again.

I pulled the battery and restarted and now the phone (Droid X) freezes upon startup when it tried to load the card. I suspect that the song I downloaded is messing it up. I did a factory reset and formatted the sd card same thing happens. I called Verizon and they said they are having lots of calls from people with the same issue and a new software update will be coming out to fix it. She said that if they sent me a new phone it would have the same issue. Has any one else been told this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI put the movie Hot Tub Time Machine (.avi) onto my Droid X. Plugged the DX into my computer, selected USB on the phone, and went into DCIM -> Camera -> and dropped Hot Tub Time Machine into there. Now when I play it on my phone it freezes after like 4 secs and the sound goes off.
However, when I go into "edit video" on my phone, I can watch the entire thing with the edit panel and everything. Weird huh? But it wont let me watch it correctly by hitting "play"?
A couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?
I did the update of Google Maps earlier today and it freezes every time I try to use it. Looks like many others are having the same issue from reading the comments posted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWorks nicely for my X. I just downloaded about 8 gigs of my music. It sync'd my videos also. Works well, but you have to select what you want to sync in the settings. Took me a while to figure it out. Also, if you try to sync a DRM protected MP3, the X gets cranky and kind of freezes up and displays a get license in the notification area.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to the whole rotting thing, I installed the bugless beast on my droid 2 days ago and everything went great and it worked fine, I'm just having an issue with it being really lagy at times and the biggest problem is that it freezes everytime I open or close the keyoard, I have to forse close and wait for it to load everything up again, a message is desplayed and it says:
The application launcher+(process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Then I hit forse close, it usually only happens when I open or close the keyboard but sometime it will happen at random. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it.
My phone has suddenly appeared with the wrong time and date. Also, on my call log, it has "Tomorrow" as opposed to today or yesterday. Texts messages are no longer in order. What in the world has happened to the phone? I don't understand it at all.
