I've been doing so much ROM swapping lately that I've evidently used up my quota of Swype installs.
Is there a way around this? I tried a couple of the leaked versions around and they both said they were expired...

Just tried to install swype and when I login to the swype installer I get "You have installed Swype Beta the maximum number of times." I am going to email them and see if I can get my account reset or not but if not that sucks. Edit I posted this in the root forum because no stock would be installing this over and over.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI read today that there was a new version of Swype available from their download page, so I logged in and downloaded it and installed it. Everything it working fine. However, since I installed it I have noticed in the notification bar that I have now downloaded two new Swype installed files. Thing is, I never went back and redownloaded it. Once I had opened up Twicca and once I had opened up the Market apps and it just started donwloading.
Anyone have any idea what's going on and how it's downloading without me instructing it to?
1. Is 0.99.3b required for all roms, or is 2b sufficient?
2. Is WinRar needed for downloading and unzipping files, and if so, what is it?
3. Where is everyone downloading roms from?
4. What is the best/ most stable/ widely used rom?
I'm currently rooted, and ready to install some roms. I downloaded one, but it had a corrupt file and couldn't be used (youtube link from Droid Review).
Anyone else wake to find that new apps were pushed to their X? I now have lattitude and Places installed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLately it seems that installing or updating an app is about a 50/50 chance of failure. This is both before and after I rooted. Then I installed LithiumMod and see the same thing. It doesn't appear to be any particular apps, and I've noticed it most recently with pandora update, wow armory, angry birds lite, and others. It makes the phone very useless in the instance where I need a new app and can't get it to work.
Going to Settings > Applications > Market > Clear Data seems to work... again, 50/50. Doesn't fix it every time.
Any ideas? I've googled around and most solutions are the "clear data" method, or just "try it again".
Ok, there is literally no way that I'm the only one who has asked this question but I can't find the answer by searching. Here's my problem, after I flash my rom and restart my phone the market begins auto-downloading all the apps I previously had installed. I do not want this bc I use titanium backup for all of that.
I know I can avoid it temporarily if I skip entering my email address, but there has to be a setting for me to un check that will make it not try to auto download anything once I do add my account.
I'm sure you guys have all run into this by now, so can someone please tell me what setting will resolve this issue?

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I searched the forum but no results to what I want to know. After setting up my new D2, the phone has listed some, actually all, of my contacts multiple times. Each contact is listed 4 times, and it's really annoying having to scroll through 400 people when there really should only be around 100. I haven't been able to find any of the contact management options that my old D1 had, ie filters and stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Why can't it just auto enable when one touch? I don't enable all these features (except refresh for push email) bc I'm so paranoid about this darn battery.... Plus, I'm always killing apps. Just want to know what you guys keep running and how your batteries are fairing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, I have 2 accounts on my X - one is a Gmail that I rarely use, and the other is a hotmail account which is frequently used.
I'm coming from Black Berry and I kinda understand that the mail is delivered differently but ever since I set up my hotmail I've received 3 sets of the same messages, read or un-read. Now every time this has happened there has been 1 new unread message, so I assume its when my X syncs with the server. Is there something I can change, or should have done during setup? I'm using the stock email app.

I just got the droid today. It has crashed like 7 times. I will be playing around on it and it acts like it is getting overloaded and shuts off and restarts. anyone else with this problem? what could be causing this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy first droid reset multiple times a day. I then exchanged it and since then I've had no problems at all. Get a reset maybe once a week or less and thats usually because I'm doing too many things with the phone.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf I ever want to restart my phone I have to pull my battery multiple times to get it to boot. It will load the Motorola M and sit there. Usually takes about 2 or 3 battery pulls to move onto the droid logo. I am on 2.3.9 Leak and am running the Revolution Theme.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running BB 0.4 and have been for some time.I use the multimedia dock that launches the clock.apk. The proplem I have is when I hit the dim button for when I go to sleep after a while the screen times out. It lasts for quite some time so it makes me think that once the phone hits 100% it defaults to my 1 minute screen time out because the phone stays on for at least an hour (I know this because ill plug it in and watch some tv then go to bed)Back when I was on nexbeast or before froyo I used to hit the dim then eventually it would default to a clock that would kind of bounce around the screen.I dont want to go back to nexbeast but surprisingly enough this is making me angry. I want to be able to use the clock for my room and the alarm clock but I also want to be able to dim the screen so I can sleep.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Froyo and when I put the phone in the desktop dock it goes into desktop mode but the screen times out after about 30 seconds. When I had 2.1 it stayed fully lit the whole time it was on the dock.Did this happen to anyone else?This is really annoying because I use it next to my office computer to easily check my schedule, time, tasks etc.

It's interesting enough to hear the "Droid..." notification (changeable, I know) every time a FB friend posts, I get a TXT or an e-mail. Problem is, I don't want to receive these at 3 in the morninig, nor do I want to turn off my sounds in case of a call or TXT that *is* important.
Any way to tell the Droid exactly when I want it to check facebook and e-mail? Old LG 10000 allowed you to set the times it checked for e-mail.
Is there a Froyo ROM out there that doesnt have a 10 minute boot time?
OK it is not exactly 10 minutes but my boot times seem to have grown from 2.01 to 2.1 to rooted 2.1 and rooted Froyo. Plain Vanilla Froyo 1ghz

View 13 Replies View RelatedSometimes with the home or back button not responding at times? Kind of like a freeze where u have to press the buttons a couple of times then they will respond. Also, have you noticed that sometimes that pressing the power button will not wake the phone up? And when my phone call ends, it takes a while for the screen to come back from black so I can end the call. Should I get an exchange for my phone or are these issues supposed to be resolved with the update coming?

I've read a couple of reviews on the Moto X and they all say that at times the phone felt sluggish and that the shutter speed on the camera can be slow at times. I know that "at times" doesn't mean it's a slow processor but vs. the incredible which is being touted as the phone that blows through any task with ease I was wondering which phone has better performance.

I double checked Motorola's website and it advertises the Droid 2 with swype pre-installed. Did I just get stiffed? Or do I need to find an apk somewhere to get swype?

These aren't even apps I use, like a Sudoku game I haven't tried once yet. I'm not too worried about it, since performance seems to be fine, but I'm wondering if this will affect battery life.
