When I edit a contact, it lists all info twice for each in the edit screen.
Both say they're on my gmail account, but editing the second doesn't reflect on the contact list if I change the name, does anyone else have this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an OG Droid. My contacts are screwed up (somehow I duplicated them from the sd card) and the phone is super slow.
I would like to copy my contacts (and some vids/pics) to my computer for editing purposes, reset the phone, and load the contacts back on.
1. I have several contacts saved but they are not listed under contacts. Their name comes up when they call and i can access contact information, name, birthday, number, email etc. from call or text logs. But they are not displayed when i go to contacts from the contacts icon itself.
2. When i go to make a call, i can scroll down to recent calls and then the list automatically turns to my contacts. I have a friend from FB that automatically synced their name / number and listed like 30 times but i can not delete it. Its not listed under my contacts to delete either, just when i scroll down from access the main call button. I even deleted them as a FB friend but they won't go away. How can i correct these?
Does anybody else have the problem of the contacts in your address book being listed twice? Every name in my address book is listed twice with the same information on both names.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHere is the reason for my confusion. There were a lot of back and forth between UD team and Koush with UD 9.8. Ultimately UD withdrew from ROM manager and Koush put up an "unofficial" version of it on ROM manager. Today the UD 10 is now listed on the ROM manager. Is it official? There was a thread about this on DF but the mods closed it with statement" in light of today's events the thread is closed and all comments deleted". So what is going on if anyone knows?

Since the latest update for AppBrain, the list of updates available shows an update for Facebook. However, when I go to instal the update I am taken to the main install page. As if I didn't have Facebook installed already. When I got to the app manager in settings, Facebook is not listed as an installed app. Anyone know what is going on? Can I just download the marketplace Facebook app and not worry about there being two instances of Facebook on my system?

I created a vcf file and was able to import the contacts gmail however now when it downloads to the phone it put all the contacts under the group namegoogle rather than phone. Is there anyway to switch the contacts to get them listed under group phone?
Also how do you save attachments from an email? I was trying to save the vcf attachment and then import it into the phone but couldnt save the attachment.
Today I synced all my contacts from my gmail account to my Android phone which worked without problems. After the import was done, I looked through my contacts on my phone and noticed that the contacts are listed alphabetically, under an index letter:
Just an example:
Jane Doe
James Brown
Julie Smith
All those are listed under the index letter "J", which is fine, but then the first contact under each index letter is listed under the previous index letter. In the example above, Jane Doe (which is the first contact that falls under the index letter "J" was NOT listed under "J", but it was under "I", which is the letter that comes before "J" in the alphabet.
And this seems to be the case in the whole phone book.
I tried several things, such as deleting the entire phone book, re-syncing the contacts from gmail and so on, but it keeps on happening again.

I tried editing the media_profiles.xml to get better camcorder fps. Whenever I look at the details of the videos I record from my phone on my computer it shows that the video recorded at 15 fps.

The problem is that these downloaded songs are sometimes misspelled, mislabled, the genre & other info isn't filled in at all, and or the album info is missing or incorrect.The result with a great audio player app like "3" (my favorite so far) is that I might have 35 Tom Petty songs, but because album info is missing on so many of them, the app has them dispersed among 22 different albums! Very annoying. (This happened after telling "3" to search for album art.) Then there's the "Unknown Atrist" catagory where I'll no doubt find another stray TP song, etc.What I'm looking for is another app that gives me a GUI that allows me to edit all of the tag data for music files in my library. Using sim free HTC Legend (not rooted or anything).
I would like to change the colors of the Wif bars on the status bar at top of screen I extracted the .png files (blue bars), opened them in Paint, and manually changed the color to yellow. Zipped them back up in Metamorph format and pushed them to my Metamorph format and pushed them to my sdcard Applied theme using Metamorph, and it worked, except that the background is now white. I created a theme using the original 5 files. I created a theme using the original 5 png's with blue bars, applied the theme, and it worked and it doesn't have the white background. I think I understand what's happening, but not sure how to format the pictures correctly so just the bars show without the background. Any help appreciated, thanks

They are not the .9 png files, and the icons changed without problem, but immediately after a reboot almost every program on my phone is force closing.
all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a user that syncs her corporate email and calendar to her Motorola Droid Razr, Android 4.0.X. The initial entry of an event in her calendar is set for the correct time and time zone. When she edits her event the time zone changes which causes the event to be displayed at a different time.
Another user also has the issue on a Droid Incredible, but is not as concerned about it. I have the HTC EVO LTE and have not been able to replicate the issue.
I read this site and thought it could work. We have reset her account, changed her time zone, resynced.
i use google contacts to sync my personal numbers to my phone but for some reason everytime i email someone from somewhere like craigslist that anonymous address is saved to my contacts? wtf? how do i stop this?

I opened the FB app from my Rezound (ICS) and looked at the settings. The "Sync Contacts" option is set to "Don't sync"
Then I looked in the Android Settings --->Accounts&sync--->facebook where there are three boxes, sync calendar, sync contacts, and sync live feed. I made sure all those boxes are unchecked.
I figured I'd just try deleting FB from my Rezound but it seems to be undeletable if that's a word. It's like standard bloatware that I actually use on occasion.
So why are my FB contacts still merged with my Google contacts? I am seeing my contacts with their FB photo and this drives me crazy. I don't want FB communicating with my address book. Gingerbread didn't do this.
I seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid.When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. Has anyone tried the Easy Root App that was listed last night on Droid-Life.com? I see in the Android Market that it lists compatibility for Droid 1 and Droid X and then also shows Droid Incredible. Has anyone had success using this new App to root their Incredible? If so, thoughts? Should you use the Easy Root App or unr EVOked3?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone.
