This is probably a moronic question, but within the Gmail app on the Droid, how do you reply to an email and then edit the text in line with the quoted message? It seems that the section marked "quoted message" cannot be edited. Surely this is possible?

Recently I have been having issues with viewing my email messages in the Yahoo Mail App. When I open some messages all is see is line after line of code instead of the message text. It doesn't seem to matter what the source email is (gmail, hotmail, etc). Some emails are ok some are not. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy husband and I just got our Droids and have been happily posting and relying away to our friend's Facebook walls and messages. When we reply, the reply shows on our Droid immediately. We've found out though that our friends aren't receiving our replies. Upon further checking, even though a reply to a wall post shows on our Droid, when we log into Facebook on a computer, the reply isn't there, and no one else sees it either. The same thing is happening when we reply to private messages on Facebook.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUnless I'm mistaken, it seems the X only ringtones or vibrates one time when an SMS, MMS or GMail is received. There does not seem to be a method to allow periodic ringtones, vibrations or LED blinks -- to indicate a message was received. So the only way to see if you have a message seems to be to wake the phone up. If true -- this would be a real bummer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Droid was acting up a bit today. It was really laggy today so I did a battery pull, after which it was fine. Then tonight on the way home I got an email, read it, and the notification went away, but in my Gmail it still showed "Inbox (1)" but the email showed as read. I synced it twice, but it stayed the same way. When I got home tonight, I logged on to my email and it showed the email as unread. I just downloaded Twidroid Pro and Google Goggles, so I'm wondering which of these is the culprit.
View 11 Replies View RelatedJust today I have started having a strange issue with Gmail on my Droid. If I delete a message from my phone, it appears to delete OK, and disappears from the phone. If I go to the computer and log in, however, the message will still be there, no matter how long I wait. This is causing my Gmail counter widget I have installed on the phone to show an incorrect number, as it is counting the messages on the server, not the phone. No matter how many times I try to resync Gmail, once I delete a message from my phone, it will not show back up on the phone, but will remain on the server until I log into a computer & delete them from there.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am switching from a BB. I receive text messages from my office with client's phone numbers. We prefer to keep our mobile numbers private, so we need to block our caller id on a per call basis. It wouldn't work for us to block caller id on all calls. On my BB, I would copy and paste the number and then add *67 as a prefix.
On the Hero I can't find a way to edit the phone number from the text message. I can delete it, but can't add to it. Most of these numbers I would not want to add to my address book. I had my office text the number with *67 as a prefix, but the Hero doesn't recognize the *. It just copies the digits. What workaround options do I have?
I tried editing the media_profiles.xml to get better camcorder fps. Whenever I look at the details of the videos I record from my phone on my computer it shows that the video recorded at 15 fps.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 9 GB of music, most ripped from full abums I own. But the rest is in downloaded or copied songs. The problem is that these downloaded songs are sometimes misspelled, mislabled, the genre & other info isn't filled in at all, and or the album info is missing or incorrect.The result with a great audio player app like "3" (my favorite so far) is that I might have 35 Tom Petty songs, but because album info is missing on so many of them, the app has them dispersed among 22 different albums! Very annoying. (This happened after telling "3" to search for album art.) Then there's the "Unknown Atrist" catagory where I'll no doubt find another stray TP song, etc.What I'm looking for is another app that gives me a GUI that allows me to edit all of the tag data for music files in my library. Preferably it should have a search function so that I could type in "Tom Petty", for example, and all songs by him would come up so I could comb through and edit data for each one I choose,

I want to try to experiment with this apk and see what I can possibly change in order to get it to work on 2.2. Does anyone know what files that may need to be edited within the apk? I would like to change the colors of the Wif bars on the status bar at top of screen I extracted the .png files (blue bars), opened them in Paint, and manually changed the color to yellow. Zipped them back up in Metamorph format and pushed them to my Metamorph format and pushed them to my sdcard Applied theme using Metamorph, and it worked, except that the background is now white. I created a theme using the original 5 files. I created a theme using the original 5 png's with blue bars, applied the theme, and it worked and it doesn't have the white background. I think I understand what's happening, but not sure how to format the pictures correctly so just the bars show without the background. Any help appreciated, thanks

I edited .png files in framework-res.apk; the sdcard preparing icon and also the usb connected icon.
I used this method:
Use terminal, since ADB doesn't work.
su
cp system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard
(edit files on your computer opening the framework as an archive using 7zip. put the file on the sd card)
assuming that you aren't in SU anymore..
su
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk system/framework
chmod 644 system/framework/framework-res.apk
sync
reboot

They are not the .9 png files, and the icons changed without problem, but immediately after a reboot almost every program on my phone is force closing.
I have noticed in the text message app if I create a new message and click the icon button next to enter recipient to choose a contact from my contacts there are contacts from just about everyone who has emailed me on my gmail account! This is not ideal at all.. I Would like just the contacts in my phone to be available. How do I remove all of those gmail contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a user that syncs her corporate email and calendar to her Motorola Droid Razr, Android 4.0.X. The initial entry of an event in her calendar is set for the correct time and time zone. When she edits her event the time zone changes which causes the event to be displayed at a different time.
Another user also has the issue on a Droid Incredible, but is not as concerned about it. I have the HTC EVO LTE and have not been able to replicate the issue.
I read this site and thought it could work. We have reset her account, changed her time zone, resynced.
Just got my Nexus One (on At&t) last week and I LOVE it. I noticed that when you receive a new gtalk or new text message that it shows a quick preview of that messages in the notification bar at the top of the screen. However, when you receive an new gmail it just says "New Email". Is there a way to get the subject line of the email to be displayed in the Notification bar?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had this happen to them: not always, but very often, if I quickly reply to a text message, my reply jumps up a place in the thread and appears before the last message, i.e. like this:
(instead of)
Sender: Where are you?
Me: I'm at work.
(it appears as)
Me: I'm at work.
Sender: Where are you?
I've noticed it almost exclusively happens if I reply within the same minute on the clock. If I receive a text at 10:50 and reply at 10:51, it doesn't happen. But if I promptly replied while time was still 10:50 almost certainly my message will jump up the thread and not be the last.
So I rooted my Droid last night but then unrooted it. Now when I open up terminal emulator the first line goes:
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of the sudden a white line has appeared across the middle of my lock screen. If I open up the keyboard (so the screen becomes horizontal) the line also turns horizontal but doesn't go all the way across the screen (just extends the distance of the vertical width of the phone) The line does not appear when I log in, so it's not dead pixels. I tried changing the wallpaper, didn't do anything. Tried taking out the batter, but also didn't do anything. I tried the pixel fixer app, but again it's not dead pixels so obviously that didn't do anything either. Suggestions? I suppose the next step is to restore the phone to factor defaults (how do I do that?), unless someone has something else I can try

I've read that with other droids you can hit "shift" + "enter", but we dont have an enter key on the keyboard when text messaging.
