View 14 RepliesIve had my Droid since December. Every update that I have received has been ota. I have been waiting around constantly checking my about phone in settings, yet still no update.
View 27 Replies View RelatedI was wondering is there any way now just to get the black notification bar from the market besides rooting your Droid and doing it that way?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI thought there was a way to set the Droid to "automatically" download and install updates to apps that were on the phone.I currently have to go into the Market app, click on Menu -> Downloads and see if any are marked 'Update Available' and update each one.Is there a way to automate this or at least get a pop-up notification that an update is available?
View 4 Replies View Relatedok so i rooted my droid a whlie ago to 2.2 but now i'm getting 2.2 froyo update. So i decided well might as well get the official one right? so i tried to install it but then it goes to the rooted reboot screen and i just press reboot now. couple days later i get the update in the notification bar again.
Help please! should i unroot(already overclock though and don't really want all my data to be deleted)? and get the ota update? what should i do?
Turned on my phone this morning and besides getting emails I had an update notification. I used the advanced task killer before I actually clicked on anything and the update disappeared on me. I know, shouldnt have done that, just force of habbit when I first turn on the phone everyday. Anyhow, I re-booted my phone thinking it might come back and it didnt. I then checked for system updates on the phone and it said there werent any. Just checking to see if anyone else has ever had something like this happen to them.
View 3 Replies View Relatedim rooted and on fabs rom latest version..and im getting the 2.1 update message that its downloaded and ready to install how do i get rid of this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know I'm in the minority here but I DON"T want Froyo!! As a former Eris owner who had to suffer through having my phone ruined by the 2.1 update, which is why i now have a droid, I'm not willing to let verizon/moto ruin another phone I'm very happy with now... Is there a way to kill the message that comes up notifying me of the update or do I just have to be annoyed by it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got a 76.9MB system update notification, what would you like me to do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can open gmail and then it goes back to the home screen, when I delete an app I suddenly get a notification that an app has an update (EVERY TIME I delete an app). My weather widget was reading 32 degrees all day yesterday and I noticed that the settings were changed to celcius. What really sucks is I am in the middle of buying a house and I email back and forth with the lender on my phone. Oh and the battery never got any better I can barely get 4hrs out of it. I really like the phone and I hate to return the darn thing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOn a rooted droid, can OTA update notifications easily be turned back on? If so, maybe we should all do it and increase the odds of catching the update.zip.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Rooted FRG22 droid with custom kernel. I used SPRecovery to update to the FRG22 rooted version.
I just got a system update notification for 2.2. WTF do I do? I remember hearing that the update will drain my battery (i mean, the update notification).
Why am I getting this notification? How do I make it go away?
How to disable the automatic 2.1 popup that is constantly displayed every time I unlock my phone? I imagine it would be something like renaming a certain file, but I guess I'd have to know the name of the correct file first.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had no clue what it was until I checked the nav bar, and saw it was a facebook update. Wow, I thought, maybe they fixed the facebook app in the background without forcing me to update. Haven't seen the blue light since, and it has been 2 days and 7-9 notifications later.
Any idea when they will fix the facebook app? Or better yet, any idea how I got it to light up once randomly? It was somebody posting a comment on my wall post fyi (and the notifications still don't refresh in the app itself). Also, why can't I view linked youtube videos from other peoples comments? Obviously the droid can use youtube, so it seems odd that they wouldn't let you watch posted videos.
I'm running Bugless Beast V0.4 but today I got a notification for an OTA. What should I do? Maybe it is the original OTA trying to install again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter the 2.1 update my notification light has stopped working. It no longer lights up for anything! Anyone else have this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs this correct? it's going in and out of 3G and hasn't been full bars yet? I got the phone today - I know they were backordered, did they fix them and do you think VZW gave me an old model ? is there a way to tell?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got this notification on my milestone. Is anyone else this getting because I heard it was only coming to the froyo version. My milestone is rooted and running android 2.1
View 4 Replies View RelatedOnly had the phone 5 days.Due to battery life i tend to switch it off overnight.Powered it on this morning(i was half awake!) and it hasn't booted to the home screen?Instead there's a white screen with three androids on skateboards at the bottom and i have to choose one of four options?Fast boot, recovery, clear storage or simlock? Why has it done this?Or how have 'i' done this lol.I've left the phone in this state so would a fairly quick answer if possible as i need to use the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy stock alarm clock hasn't been working the past couple of days. Haven't had any problems with it before this. Or on any other device I owned. So I never tried any other alarm apps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my Eris I think I used to get App update notifications. Lately I don't get them, the only way to check for app updates is to go to the market.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to detect whether the Notification Windows is being shown? I have a service that updates an ongoing notification, complete with a progress bar and text? Is there a way to know if the notifiication screen is actually being shown, so I can adjust how often I wouldn't be so concerned if not for the fact that the HTC Incredible will reboot after it receives several hundred or so updates. Based on a controlled experiment with a beta tester, the service could continue for 24 hours if it did not update progress, but dies after several hundred updates. So I am desperate to reduce the notifications, if that's what works, and one of the ways I could do that is by not updating as much or at all if that screen isn't being shown.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else getting bogus application update notifications on 1.5? The past couple of days I've gotten several. They clear when my installed app list comes up, and there are no apps showing update available.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got an update notification. What can it be ? I already have all the other updates. Unless its for one of the very few apps i have.....
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust got a new Android phone, my second after a brief stint with the G1 a year or so ago..
Today I noticed that I received notifications that I have apps with updates available. When I click on the notification it takes me to my downloads in the Marketplace, but it doesn't show me which app has an update. They all just say Installed.
Is there no way to tell what application needs updating?
Anyone getting this problem? The settings are set correctly and once in awhile I go to my market downloads and there are several programs that need an update.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a quick question.
My friend bricked his DX with the Deodexing or whatever. After an sbf flash..
Can we update to 2.2 via update.zip in recovery, install rom manager, and then install MY backup on his phone? I'm currently uploading them to file hosting, and wondering if this would work.
If so, will he be fully rooted, deodexed, and themed(I'm rocking the xtreme 2.2 theme)?
I have a voicemail notification that won't go away, even after i check my voicemail. The weird thing is that I use Google Voice, so I never get voicemail notifications except for this one. It won't clear even when I clear other notifications away. I am rooted, and running the Revolution theme.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how or if you can safely change the color of the notification bar? I saw a thing on another forum to download and do some stuff to get it black but it seemed kind of sketchy at the moment.
