View 2 Replies View RelatedBy any means, programmatically can I get the install date & time of the already installed apps on the android device. The ApplicationInfo doesn't provide this info. While digging through the /data folder through the DDMS perspective, I saw the installed apk's do contains the Date & time of when it was installed, but the sad part is that this /data folder is not accessible on the device programmatically.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to exchange my Cappy at bestbuy today. I had 100% battery when I woke up, make an 3 min call, browsed for about 15 minutes and I'm down to 70%. I normally have to charge it 2 or more times a day. The battery usage thing shows display using 70%. That seems a bit high. Its on its lowest brightness setting too
Then the GPS thing. it would be nice if that worked. I'm going to love this phone one way or another!
My phone was built on 7/10/2010, the battery was 7/4/2010. Is there an easy way to tell if its a newer build or not? Does anyone know the IEMI breakdown?
So the past week I've been having this problem where my phone goes into date roaming, its happening on my friends droid x's too and its in places where I've never had problems with service before.Anyone have any idea what it is?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have come to the conclusion that vzw aborted the ota on the 1st 2.2, and not many people have gotten it. It seems at least on this forum that everyone has 2.2 via a forced update. Very few people have chimed in that they got a ota. However, given that vzw is releasing the droid2 on Thu the 12th, I would think that this is going to have the newest froyo, not the version released ota that everyone forced with. Correct thinking?
If that is also true, then shouldn't we be seing something coming out ota for us 2.1 droid 1 users very shortly? anyone have any dates?
I've heard that this should be coming to Verizon before Thanksgiving? Is there anything to support this? My contract is currently up and I'm wanting to get an Android phone (and this one looked cool) but I don't want to wait too long if it isn't going to be available reasonably soon. Also, are there ant charts comparing all the different phones coming out soon?
View 49 Replies View RelatedDoesn't seem to be a way to enter Date fields (birthday, anniv etc..) when creating or editing a Contact? Is this true? The "More" option only expands to Notes, Nickname & Website. I believe I've seen that Sense UI on the HTC devices allows Date entry/edit in Contacts, but I'm not seeing in stock Android 2.1 on my Droid. Surprised Dates can only be entered & maintained on the desktop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasic but frustrating issue with my Droid X - the time stamp for the pictures that I take are way off - the date is actually right, but the time is something like 7 hours too fast.My phone's date and time is set correctly, of course (it does so automatically) - for some reason though, the camera's date stamp is wrong and I can't figure out how to adjust it. Any idea how I can fix the date and time for the camera?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI love my new Droid, but if I can't use it for work, I can't use it period. Anyway, here is the problem. I have a website which interfaces with the main dispatch server at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. I wanted a phone that would let me go to that website and post dates and times for jobs to which I have been dispatched. Unfortunately, on the Android browser, the date and time fields are each 1 space short of being able to hold dates and times, i.e. the time fields are 3 spaces, but I need to put in, say, 1800 for 6 pm. Follow? It is hard to explain.
There is what I think is a Java applet that lets you select a date by clicking on a little calendar icon. I am sure you have seen these on travel websites. This icon does not show up on the Android browser. I checked the Android browser's Java compatibility, and it passed. I tried the 1nternet and Opera browsers, as well. 1nternet has the same issue, and Opera apparently does not work with Android 2.0, yet. I couldn't go to any typed-in URL with Opera.
Is there a way to get the lock screen time and date widget (or one that looks like that) on the home screen? I like the clarity and simplicity. The standard home screen widget is so ugly.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried out this app: Fpt System Manager v1.1 Application for Android | Tools
And in the RAM area it currently shows me as having 83MB of RAM available out of 192.5MB of RAM. Obviously because of running apps.
What I'd like to know is how much _total_ RAM is _actually_ in my phone. The model I have is supposed to have 288MB of RAM (Rogers HTC Magic).
Is there an app, or is there some other way, to determine the actual specs of your phone, ie. actual total RAM installed?
How does one determine the home carrier on a CDMA phone? By home carrier I mean the carrier that the phone's owner has a contract with, not the owner of the cell site that the phone is communicating with. These are different when the phone is roaming. On a GSM phone I can get the home carrier from the IMSI recorded on the SIM, but this does not work on a CDMA phone. CDMA has a similar identifier called home system ID. Is there a way to query the home system ID? If that is not possible, how do I determine the home carrier? On Windows Mobile I am forced to search the registry looking for strings like 'Verizon' and 'Sprint'. Is there a similar klooge on Android?
