Doesn't seem to be a way to enter Date fields (birthday, anniv etc..) when creating or editing a Contact? Is this true? The "More" option only expands to Notes, Nickname & Website. I believe I've seen that Sense UI on the HTC devices allows Date entry/edit in Contacts, but I'm not seeing in stock Android 2.1 on my Droid. Surprised Dates can only be entered & maintained on the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMost of my contacts were moved over when I made the switch to Droid. One thing I've found is that when I try to add a new contact it does so as a google contact where as my existing contacts that were synced over show up as Phone-only contact. There obviously is a difference when adding/editing contacts but I can't figure out how to choose between the two types.

It gives me some BS about not being able to edit facebook contacts... do I have to make a whole separate google contact just to add a phone number?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to run a simple script once a day to automate fstrim on my /data and /cache partitions with the output going to a file with a date and time entry. The script is easy but I don't know how to automate it. I'm running 4.2.2 on an HTC One X+. I'm rooted and have busybox 1.22.1 installed.
The fstrim script is as follows:
date >> /sdcard/fstrim.log
fstrim -v /data >> /sdcard/fstrim.log
fstrim -v /cache >> /sdcard/fstrim.log
it is located in /data/local/fstrim.sh
When I go to edit a calendar it'll give me a list of all the other times I used a calwidget calendar. Since it's so hard to find which one I used, how do I delete the list of available options to choose from? Also, I added an entry but it takes forever to show on the widget.

So somehow I added my parents to my ICE contacts, and every time I call them, my phone goes into emergency mode. I remember adding them via something like ##setup, but when I go there, I don't see them under ICE contacts. I'm tired of having to exit emergency mode.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't create a new entry in Calendar. When I long-click on a time and select New Event, it says "You must synchonize a calendar before creating a new event."
OK, so I try syncing to my Google account. But when I go into Settings in my Google account (Settings, Accounts, Google) I only see Sync Contacts and Sync Gmail. (Gmail syncing works fine.) I don't see Sync Calendars.
Furthermore when I go into the Calendar app on the Droid 2 and select More, Calendars, no calendars show up.
So I think there's something missing. I don't see a way to add the calendar to my Google account on the Droid 2.
Is there any way to do better text entry? I have the Motorola Droid, and correcting mistakes is absolutely terrible. Trying to get the cursor at the exact point where you want to make an edit is virtually impossible without multiple tries. Isn't there an app that allows for something like the magnifying glass on the iPhone?

When entering in text and using the predictive text entry, when you select the word it always enters a space...if you're saving something it will append that space to the end of the filename making you have to hit the "X" Delete key to erase it. Is there any easy way to not have it input the space automatically (didn't see it in settings?).
Also how do you tell it to automatically put a period at the end of the word etc? I've done it by accident before but no idea how I did it!

It seems at least on this forum that everyone has 2.2 via a forced update. Very few people have chimed in that they got a ota.However, given that vzw is releasing the droid2 on Thu the 12th, I would think that this is going to have the newest froyo, not the version released ota that everyone forced with. Correct thinking?

I am about to go an pick up my new HTC Desire and wanted to know what the easiest way would be for me to transfer my Contacts/Emails to the new Desire from my iPhone 3gs.
Also, I play World War on iPhone, do you know if World War is available in the App store for the Desire?
I've heard that this should be coming to Verizon before Thanksgiving? Is there anything to support this? My contract is currently up and I'm wanting to get an Android phone (and this one looked cool) but I don't want to wait too long if it isn't going to be available reasonably soon.
