Is there a way to get the lock screen time and date widget (or one that looks like that) on the home screen? I like the clarity and simplicity. The standard home screen widget is so ugly.

I am using fresh 2.1.2 and have the vanilla lock screen but I want to know if it is possible to put the time and date back onto the lock screen? Wondering why flipz took it out in the first place?

The widget now when pressed does nothing but only shows current date and day of week. Can this be done? I have tried other programs but they only seem to allow me change the name of the icon. Can anyone recommend a good widget that displays the time and date, but not the weather? I've been using Beautiful Widgets, but the weather, in my opinion, isn't very accurate. I have Weatherbug Elite, and I'd like to have something like Beautiful Widgets to display the time.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI love my new Droid, but if I can't use it for work, I can't use it period. Anyway, here is the problem. I have a website which interfaces with the main dispatch server at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. I wanted a phone that would let me go to that website and post dates and times for jobs to which I have been dispatched. Unfortunately, on the Android browser, the date and time fields are each 1 space short of being able to hold dates and times, i.e. the time fields are 3 spaces, but I need to put in, say, 1800 for 6 pm. Follow? It is hard to explain.
There is what I think is a Java applet that lets you select a date by clicking on a little calendar icon. I am sure you have seen these on travel websites. This icon does not show up on the Android browser. I checked the Android browser's Java compatibility, and it passed. I tried the 1nternet and Opera browsers, as well. 1nternet has the same issue, and Opera apparently does not work with Android 2.0, yet. I couldn't go to any typed-in URL with Opera.
Is there a way to bypass the standard lock screen or set GOTO as my default because sometimes i have to go through both? and is there a way to get handcent as the default app it opens instead of the default messenger?

With a home screen widget I'm trying to layout. Basically, I'm trying to layout my widget so it matched a standard home screen application shortcut perfectly. Basically, at this point, I'm about ~2px off. Has anyone got this to match up just right? Should I be able to find this layout in the source somewhere? Here's my layout thus far:

MotoDroid 2.2. Since 2.2, the auto-rotate screen goes haywire from time to time. I normally use the vertical format, easier to type, but when it switches, not much screen left, and I have to go back and back to start over again.

I really don't like the little button on the Droid as a "lock" Now that I have added a skin to the phone, that button is even worse. Does anyone know of an App that would put a "Lock" icon/widget on my home screen? As an added bonus, if it had some kind of "shake to wake" (but not unlock) that would make it a "money app" for me.

After activating the phone, it displayed the correct date and time for my time zone, so I didn't mess around with settings to reset the time, as I would with any other device.
However, I've noticed that the time changes to exactly an hour ahead, before changing itself back several minutes later.
I went to settings > date and time, but 24 hour time and selecting a date format are the only options listed.
I prefer to leave mobile data off when I am at home and can use the wi-fi. Is it necessary to have mobile data turned on, so the phone can receive the time from a cell tower, or is there a way I can set an internal clock?
Anyone know why the time never updates on beautiful widget? I've reloaded, etc. The time never changes. (Not rooted)

Now i have to identify the current time zone of device and then convert this time to my local time. (FYI, Currently, UTC time is 10:25 AM, in india current time is 3:55 PM)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.

Is it possible to set the screen to turn off, let's say, after 2 minutes, but have the phone only lock after, let's say, 10 minutes.
During the day I am in and out of my contacts constantly and I am unlocking my phone too much! I just want it to lock after a preset time, not every time the device is turned off.
Sorry I couldn't find the answer in the forums. But the company I work for just got a slew of Moments. While trying to set it up for someone I noticed that hitting the power button doesn't lock the phone and you have to wait for the screen to timeout, and then it still is iffy when it locks. How do I manually lock the screen with out the time out? Hopefully someone can help me.

View 6 Replies View RelatedUnder Settings -> Date and Time, whenever I set a Date to a future or past number, it gets overridden by the Network/WiFi. I've made sure that I've unchecked the Automatic option. Anyone have any ideas why this is?
When I turn off my Network(3G) and WiFi, I'm able to set the Date to whatever I want without it getting reset like 2 seconds later.
I am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?
