I've got a Droid 1 and am rooted w/BB rom. I was under the impression that I could go to my file manager and delete any apps, including native apps. However, the core or native apps list isn't available to me. How do I access and edit this list?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have a 3 year old Droid Incredible. The older it gets, the worse it responds to basic tasks. Today, I turned on my phone, only to get several error messages from Google related apps saying they have failed to start.
So I tried clicking on some Google apps, like Google Maps. The icon was replaced by this:
In fact, all of the Google related apps were like this. I tried selecting Google maps, only to get an instant force stop message. Soon afterwards, all of the Google apps disappeared, including YouTube. Google Play and Google Search widget have both been replaced by Failure to Load Gadget messages. I tried looking for any signs of anything Google related, with no luck. I restarted my phone, I cleared caches, and I unmounted and remounted my SD card for some reason. No dice.
I have a stock HTC Incredible. I have done nothing like unrooting to it. What could be the cause of the apps disappearing?
My battery life sucks.I use TasKiller pretty regularly and I still get less than twelve hours out of it.Also would like a free ringtone download source?I had a blackberry curve and used crackberry forums for ringtones, haven't found a good one for Eris yet.(Haven't looked exceedingly hard either though.)Anybody know how to get rid of native HTC or Android apps?Like MP3 store, stocks and Peep?Tried QuickUninstall and it didn't do the trick.

I tried to build NDK with the latest source code, bu unfortunately, faile again :( .
So is there any way to get particular version of android source code? for example the android-1.5r3 tag. Would be great if some command like "svn switch /foo/bar/1.5r3" is available.

View 47 Replies View RelatedIs there a setting, as with voice calls, to have all SMS commands directed through Google Voice? I've canceled my Verizon texting plan and want to send all of my texts through Google Voice. Obviously I can do this by composing messages through the GV app, but I would like to click on a contact's page and have GV automatically open to send the text message. Much like Handcent opens when you select a contacts texting option, when you have Handcent installed. When I select the text message option from a contacts page (or press their contact picture and then select the text option), the Droid opens the standard text message application to send the text. Interestingly, if I go into the call log, select a recently called number and choose "send text message," it opens Google Voice to send the text message. How do I get the same functionality as above, so that selecting text message from a contact's page or shortcut uses Google Voice to send the message?

I have a terminal emulator installed, so I think that would be the place to start, but am unsure if I can delete anything that's not on the SD card. I'm more worried what may happen if I do this. My reasoning for doing this is that I hate the built in ringtones, and have placed mp3's on the sdcard under /Ringtones and they show up in my Ring tones (no need to use the media player to do so). I have to browse through the ton of crappy tones to select the ones I'd like (obviously this isn't really a space issue, more convenience )
View 13 Replies View RelatedEver since I got 2.1 my phone started adding words to the dictionary by itself. In some cases this is helpful but as it turns out its annoying. It mainly adds capitalized versions of words. for example when I'm in the middle of a sentence it says "You" instead of "you" etc. I delete it, but it keeps coming back. Any way to permanently stop this from happening?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 pictures in my gallery that were originally downloaded off my picasa acct. since then i have deleted them, or so i thought. the thumbnails of them are still showing in my gallery but when i select one, the pic enlarges for a split second then changes to what i guess is androids generic "pic not available" icon. why are they still showing as thumbnails and how can i delete them for good?

I had to get a replacement Droid (1st one had a very loose screen) and really wanted to have a fresh start with the new phone - no apps, etc. Since I had the backup thing checked on the 1st phone, the 2nd phone reloaded all the apps from the 1st phone. I've tried the various resets (with backup turned off), but nothing gets me back to a blank, clean phone.
Keep in mind that I'm not talking about the Contacts or Gmail being pulled in (that's fine) - I just don't want the apps & settings from the 1st phone. Uninstalling the apps doesn't quite get me to a clean install. Anyone know of a way to delete/turn off that backup that's sitting in the Google cloud?
