Android :: Particular Version Of Droid Source Code / Unable To Install Apps With Native
Sep 17, 2009
I've synced my android repository just after android sdk 1.6 announced, but found some problem to install my apps with native code (so built by NDK 1.5_r1) then.
I tried to build NDK with the latest source code, bu unfortunately, faile again :( .
So is there any way to get particular version of android source code? for example the android-1.5r3 tag. Would be great if some command like "svn switch /foo/bar/1.5r3" is available.

I am creating an Android application which uses the JMF (SIP, RTP, JAIN). So i downloaded the JMF source code for some adhoc change to my application. The basic questions 1. How will it behave the "native files - C/C++/header" in JMF source files(downloaded)? because android is based on java right now. 2. Is there any complete different way to porting/doing the SIP, RTP working in android? Is there any link from sun.com(this) site for JMF source code?Any suggestion and comment about this?

I am trying to build the Browser source code downloaded from the http://android.git.kernel.org/ site with android-sdk-windows-1.0_r1. I am getting a lot of compilation errors and it seems that many classes are missing in 1.0 which are being used by the Browser.
I am stuck into this and not able to figure a way out. Let me know if I am missing anything. Waiting desperately 4 a reply.

My old development process allowed me to make any change in the java code and use eclipse's Run button to install the updated package to the emulator.
Now I get [2009-12-15 11:51:55 - Scoopful]Application already deployed. No need to reinstall. even though the code has changed.
I realize the manifest version Code is used to determine if the app has changed and it works fine if I bump up that number. This did not used to be necessary and it slows down development when I have to enter AndroidManifest and make a change with every deploy to the emulator. Is there a way around this?

I have two question to put forward:
I was very interested, even intrigued by the Maps application on the android emulator. Where can I get the source code for it?
There is a Maps Editor on the Android Market, it cannot be downloaded to the emulator. But again, where can I find the source code to that?

I've had this issue since the 2.2 leaks (2.2.9-2.3.15 and now with RubiX) and have finally gotten tired of it. When downloading apps or updates from the market, 1/2 the time it'll finish downloading but then won't install. It just hangs there at 100% and nothing happens no matter how long I leave it there. I have to cancel download and then re-download, sometimes multiple times, before it'll install it automatically. This happens with every app, and while I do eventually get everything install, it will still very annoying. Does anyone else have this issue?

Does anyone know if the source code for the updates of the keyboard in Android 2.1 is available somewhere?
I know that you can get the source for the Android keyboard here: http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/inputmethods/Latin... But this doesn't seem to contain code for the updates in 2.1, like voice input. I would really like to see this code.

I downloaded the Android SDK and the Eclipse Plugin and installed them. When I however use the "Open Declaration" in Eclipse on basic Android functions and classes such as setOnClickListener or ListActivity it gives me an "Source not found"-Error.
The total Android source code seems to be 2.1 GB. Where do I get the source code of those functions that I call with the API to integrate it into Eclipse?

I've never used git before, but I'd like to download the android source code as I'm getting a crash in the 2.2 emulator and I'd like to see exactly where in the android source code it's crashing (so I can file a better bug report). Edit A decent answer would include instructions on using git to download a specific repository. I'm on windows, but have installed Msysgit.

I set up Virtuous 2.6 (was running CMod 6.0.2 but it was restarting, even with the default kernel) this morning and have had this problem with Seesmic and Google Voice in Market where it downloads and then the progress bar goes away and the only button is Cancel download. But I can go into Astro /mnt/sdcard/download and there's Download.apk that is the file downloaded from Market. I was able to install both Seesmic and GV that way but neither are registered in Market, and running Market Doctor in Titanium Backup does not do the trick either.Any ideas on what the issue might be? I'd prefer to stay on Virtuous but not if this keeps happening.
