Dec 22, 2009I've been trying to use wifi to download apps from the market but it always says starting download and then never does anything else?

View 15 RepliesThe subject says it all. Market downloads and updates fine with wifi off, hangs forever with wifi on. I've seen other threads on this but no answer. I've had this issue non-rooted, and rooted.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there any non-market/market, fully functional free emulators I can download for older systems. I'm a broke college student.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I am connected via WiFi the Android Market will not download. It will just stay at "Starting Download". I have to cancel the download and try again after turning wifi off. And yes, I have tested this on a number of hotspots (my own, some friends WiFi, Starbucks, my office, etc.).
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I noticed that the Social Networking app was not updating. I couldn't find any setting to sync it manually, so I figured maybe a factory reset would do the trick. So....after I did the reset, I noticed that none of my apps were downloading. They all said "downloading" but nothing was happening. So I ended up just restoring from a nandroid backup I did before the reset. Im glad to say that the Social Networking is updating now, but apps are still not downloading . I went to settings/applications/market and cleared the data and rebooted. Still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rooted a couple hours ago. After I did I realized that nothing would download from the market, new apps or updates. So I did a factory reset. Now when I try to open the market it won't even bring up the terms and conditions so obviosely I have no access to the market. What do I do? And BTW, when I did a factory reset do I need to root again?
View 17 Replies View RelatedOk the market seems to be working except it won't let me download anything. It keeps saying download was unsuccessful. Does any body else have this issue. It worked at first when I first upgraded to froyo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having apps hang on download from the appbrain market app. This was during an appbrain update. So I uninstalled appbrain. The downloads pending went through, but the appbrain update is now hanging in the downloads from the Android Marketplace. It just says "downloading." I can't kill the process. I have rebooted the phone, manually killed the process. I get this message: "Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then "Force Close." I want appbrain back, I love the service, but I don't know what to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI searched around I don't think that this question had been asked: Should I download the apps in that market that are already on my droid 2? (Ex.: Google Voice Search, Google Street View, etc.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep getting a network error using both wifi and 3G; definitely know that both of my connections are good using them for everything else. Anybody else?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have froyo 2.2 stock on my dx do I need to download apps such as flash google streetview etc. I already have them on my phone.l from original setup.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy apps are all backed up to my sdcard. I don't need to *download* all of them after each wipe. It takes forever. How do I block this? It just starts automatically now (2.2 thing?).
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, at my work, its a complete dead zone.. there's only wifi. My co-workers with iphones and blackberries have no problem downloading apps, mine just sits there and says "starting download".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
Is it possible for an application to run automatically after completion of download/install from android market (Similar to First Run Run after installation in Symbian OS).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my MS for about more than a week now and I am facing a problem with downloading apps through WiFi. It will just get stuck at "Starting download...".
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data
My Market. It's similar to the stock app, but offers a different layout as well as a little bit more options. Try it out.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint Hero and had a question about downloads.

I have OTA with root and today i tried to update an app and it never downloads I've tried other apps and I get the same error and i was wondering if any one with the ota is having this problem or if it's just my phone. For me it just gets stuck on starting download.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just did a factory reset because I have tried out bunches of programs and just wanted to start fresh, I did it all the time on all my old phones(palm and winmo) with no problem. It turns out that when you do a reset, not only do you loose all your programs but the phone has to be registered to your account. I got it back up in running, wifi works and so does making phone calls, all my contacts and e-mails are synced and I thought everything was good. I went to the market and it even shows me all the apps I had installed previously, however when I tell it to install something, it just stays stuck on the "starting download.." message...........
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought my Xperia X10 mini from Saudi Arabia & it didn't have the android market.

Just got my X10 yesterday,am trying to download some free apps from Android market, screen message been saying starting download for hours!!

I've been rooted with Droid Mod forever and have never had any issues or never tried other roms it worked so I've stayed with it. Anyway I was screwing around trying to fix a problem and did a nandroid back up and and restore ( i'm clueless) Did not wipe info (that scares me) and I reflashed the rom a couple times because I kept selecting or deselecting the wrong things. Finally got everything perfect. The phone seemed to like the mini overhaul. But when I rebooted the market apk is gone. No where to be found. All my apps are there but no icon for market. Its just gone. Can I get that, download it desktop, mount, and drag to phone somewhere?
