Ok the market seems to be working except it won't let me download anything. It keeps saying download was unsuccessful. Does any body else have this issue. It worked at first when I first upgraded to froyo.

I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

We have other Incredibles without issue so I am thinking this one is defective as I just picked it up yesterday.
When I go to the market to update or install a new app, the download animation shows on the taskbar for a moment then goes away. When I go into the market to check on the downloads, the apps show a black status bar and will not download.
I've rebooted, hard-booted, canceled downloads and tried re-installing the apps. All with the same results. Every app I try to install and every app I try to update (google maps for example) will start then immediately say "Download Unsuccessful"
I have published my app on Android Market. I have successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on my Moto Droid 10 days ago. My beta tester #1 successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on his Samsung Galaxy 8 days ago. My beta tester #2 gets "download unsuccessful" when she tries to dowload app from Market on her Motorola Droid X at 2010-10-28 4pm Central Std time USA (10pm GMT). She tried several times over a 30 minute period. When I uninstalled and tried to download my app during this same time period, it took longer than I expected, then finished and said Google Maps had "successfully updated". No mention that my app did or did not install. My app is not installed on my phone now.
Developer's Console shows no problem, 20 downloads, 4 active, no errors, no comments. (This app is industry specific and not workable without subscription to a website, etc.)
Does Market work perfectly everytime? Does it have good times and bad times? If you think it may be my app that is the problem, what / where should I look for as the problem?
Lately when I have been trying to download applications from the Market; I keep getting "download unsuccessful." I have not been able to make it work no matter what I do.
View 17 Replies View RelatedMy phone was working fine and I had downloaded numerous apps with no problems. All of a sudden, when I tried to download apps, they would just be stuck, saying "downloading..." for days.
When searching for a fix for this problem, I was told to clear the Google Apps Cache & login again to clear the problem. I did this and it did not fix the problem. It actually wouldn't let me connect to the market apps at all anymore. So, I searched for a solution to this new problem. The best option was to do a factory reset...which i did.
After the reset, I could not get the market apps to download. Every time I click install on an app, I get the Download Unsuccessful error...please try again. I searched solutions and tried to set up a new google account per those solutions. This still did not fix the problem. I still cannot download anything.
Now I have a reset phone, with no apps! Very frustrating. It seems like I lost all of my data and made it worse.
I tried to download something today and got the explanation point that the download was unsuccessful. Power cycles my EVO and im getting the same thing.

Im running BB .4 and I have been trouble downloading the one app that I actually have paid for. Decided to buy it last night and it froze on download so I cancled it and restarted it. It went from authorizing to downloading to Download unsuccessful.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLong story: Went in, got my Vibrant, immediately downloaded a few apps to play/test the device in the store. I got handcent and barcode scanner. Went home, tried rooting phone, couldn't get into the recovery menu. Gave up on rooting for the moment and tried to download launcher pro, and immediately after it started the download it gave me a "download unsuccessful" error, regardless of whether I was connected via 3G or Wifi. I then tried downloading several other apps and got the same error. Afterwords, I tried clearing the market's cache, signing in/out of Google Talk, uninstalling the apps I had originally downloaded, rebooting the phone; nothing worked (and I was unable to reinstall the apps I had managed to install in the first place, due to the same error). I then attempted a factory reset and was unable to do that, given the error "No reset was performed because the System Clear service is unavailable." After going through tech support through everything I did, they asked me to do a hard reset of the phone, which I didn't realize used the same recovery menu as one must access to root the phone. Since I couldn't get into the recovery menu for whatever reason (I blamed my fingers at the time), I was told to go back to the store to swap my phone out for a new one. Did that, repeated the app downloading process but didn't connect it to anything other than a car charger, and the app store gave me the same error, and I'm again unable to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. I know it's not my fingers, though, because I was able to get into the recovery menu of a display phone at the store.I'm going back to the store tomorrow to swap my SIM out, since tech doesn't know what else to do with it, but I was wondering if you guys had any input.Short story: First symptom was all market downloads failed with error: Download unsuccessful. Second symptom was inability to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. Possible causes/solutions?EDIT: Problem seems to have been fixed by going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > (menu) > Filter > All > Download Manager > Clear Data. Will update if anything fails afterwards.

Paper Toss - worked fine
Can someone try to update/download super slot or batterytime lite and see if you can do it successfully?
I doubt it's a market issue, but I wanted to rule that out.
I also installed ad free android earlier. I have since uninstalled it, but is it possible it left the host file on the system and that's blocking the download? Do all apps get downloaded from google or do they actually get downloaded from the developer's site through the market? I'd be surprised if it's the 2nd one, so that's probably not the issue either.

So over the past few days the apps ive tried to download dont even start to download, I then turn my phone off and back on again and they start to download, then start to install, but just as i think its done i get a notification saying ''Installation unsuccessful''.
I have 14MB of phone memory left so ive constantly got the low on space icon in the notification bar but i have ample space for the certain apps i wish to download. Have i without realising fiddled with a certain setting or something?
I've been receiving MMS messages from friends and family back home and for some reason whenever i click on 'download' it says that the 'download is unsuccessful'... it happens with people that i know that have verizon and droids too.. i tried the native sms app, chompsms, and handcent but they all do the same thing.. is this a known problem? it sucks not being able to recieve picture messages from my friends, and i can't send outgoing ones either (they download unsuccessful)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 2.2 froyo yesterday and now when I try to download any app it starts and goes straight to saying download unsuccessful! Is this an issue with 2.2? What can I do to resolve this? It sucks a little extra because I just uninstalled my launcherpro plus because it was being glitchy with 2.2 and as I went to reinstall it like the dev told me to I found out I could no longer download apps. I can't even navigate the orginal home screen because of how use to launcherproI was.

No matter what it is or where its from. We've tried doing"fix permissions"in don manager, soft reboot, no results. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

View 14 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I noticed that the Social Networking app was not updating. I couldn't find any setting to sync it manually, so I figured maybe a factory reset would do the trick. So....after I did the reset, I noticed that none of my apps were downloading. They all said "downloading" but nothing was happening. So I ended up just restoring from a nandroid backup I did before the reset. Im glad to say that the Social Networking is updating now, but apps are still not downloading . I went to settings/applications/market and cleared the data and rebooted. Still nothing.

The downloads pending went through, but the appbrain update is now hanging in the downloads from the Android Marketplace. It just says "downloading." I can't kill the process. I have rebooted the phone, manually killed the process. I get this message: "Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
