HTC EVO 4G :: Use Any Pic As Wallpaper Without Resizing To 960x800

Jul 18, 2010

So anyways I was laying on the couch trying to figure out how to use a pic I have as a wallpaper for my evo. Then it suddenly came to me...use power point. So I went to my laptop opened up power point and copy and paste the pic to it. I change the background of the presentation cause the pic was black and I just centered it then stretched it from top to bottom then saved it on my phone. And lo and behold it fit just perfectly and it kept the same resolution without losing any pixels! So if you wanna try it that way you can. As for the presentation on the background I just made it the same color of the background of the pic. If the color is too crazy I just made it black.

Additionally you can do the same thing with a wallpaper on your PC and just follow the same steps except stretch it until it covers the entire background presentation. Also make sure you save it as a JPEG format too. I hope that this helps with those that are frustrated with the crop feature on the Evo.

Android :: App For Resizing Photos For Wallpaper?

Jul 28, 2010

I have a Droid X and when I take a photo in portrait mode, it looks nice and sharp on my screen...I can see the entire photo and it is perfect. Then when I try to set it as my wallpaper, it forces me to crop in on the photo which kills the quality. I just want to use the whole photo so it looks JUST like the screen right after I snap the photo. Are there any apps out there that will let me do that? Seems stupid to have to offload the photo onto a PC, resize it to 960x854, and then upload it back to the phone to that it will fit perfectly.

Motorola Droid :: Use 960x800 Image As It Is

Nov 10, 2009

I have read a lot on wallpapers but one thing still throws me. I size a desktop image, or download a premade one which is the specified size for Droid desktops. 960x800. However when I attempt to use them on my Droid it always wants to crop the image with some crop field significantly smaller than the image. This results in a blurred out image which looks to be zoomed in too far. So is there any workaround to make the phone just take and use the 960x800 image as they are?

Android :: Need To Have Images Resizing On Download

May 7, 2010

This is a really weird issue. I'm trying to download images from DeviantArt to use for wallpapers and the like on my HTC Desire but they seem to be quality controlled on the download. For example, if I download an image on PC which is 700k and then download the same image on my phone it comes in at 80k and there's noticable artifacts. I've tried two browsers (the default one and SkyFire) and it's doing the same thing in both.

Android :: Free App For Resizing Photos?

Jun 10, 2010

I like the Incredible's 8MP camera, but hate the huge resulting filesize that makes it inconvenient if not impossible to upload the photos anywhere. Is there a free app that allows me to resize photos to resolutions I want? I tried Picsay, but the free version only allows it to be resized to a a tiny resolution, making it useless. I know Photoshop.com, but I've heard that it runs constantly in the background no matter what. I just want a simple app where I can punch in the x and y dimensions (and maybe a checkbox to choose to keep the ratio) and have the image resized.

HTC Hero :: Resizing MMS Pictures To Something Less Teeny

Oct 26, 2009

I've been using Handcent sms for my messaging, but when I do a MMS by adding a picture, it will resize the photo (often with a double pop up asking if I want to) to a "small" size. The limit of my mms is set as 300kb, but often the pic resize will make it 6kb, which isn't as bit on the Hero screen as some incoming images. Is there something I can do to change this? I've tried sending myself MMS messages both from the Hero Messaging bit and from the Handcent SMS app, but both seem to come across as smaller than pics sent by others. Is this a Hero issue, a Handcent issue (even though it happens via the Hero messaging software), or my own network issue?

HTC Droid Eris :: Automatically Resizing Photos For MMS

Nov 10, 2009

First time trying to send a photo via text message (MMS). On any number of my previous phones, the phone would automatically resize the image so that it wasnt too large to send. That does not appear to be happening on the Eris. I sent one photo, and it was nearly 1100kb. Then another photo I attempted to send would not attach, because it said it was too large (it was like 1250kb in size). So, is there a way to have it automatically resize a photo that is being sent via MMS? Or will I need to do that manually beforehand with an app from the Market, like Picasa or something of the sort?

Android :: How I Can Disable Any Webkit Resizing In Droid?

Feb 7, 2010

I have a question regarding the meta viewport declaration in HTML pages. Please tell me if this is not the correct group to post to. I have been doing quite a few iphone specific websites and I always use: <meta name = "viewport" content = "width = device-width; minimum- scale=1.0; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=no;" /> Now I tried a site that is using that declaration in the android emulator with a 854 x 480 resolution. Even with the declaration above its scaling graphics and text. I would assume that I have 854 x 480 at my disposal. Can somebody explain how I can disable any resizing? Never had any of those issues in the 1.x Android OS devices and iPhone OS.
