For about 2 days I haven't been getting email and text message notifications. I have reset them several times using the settings option on the menu button. Unlike he BB I have been using I haven't found a "SAVE" option after making changes. Only an OK option. Am I missing something?

I just got a Droid today and am enjoying it so far, but one issue I've been having is I want to be able to know when I have an unread message without having to unlock the phone.My last phone had a setting that allowed me to set a tone or alert that would go off every 2, 5 or 10 minutes while I had an unread or un-listened-to message on my phone, so even if I missed the first alert I would still notice when I had something new.

I tried out chompsms recently, but I just didn't like the way it working compared to the regular messaging system. My friend somehow turned off the notifications for the built in messaging system, so now that I've uninstalled chomp, I don't know when I get messages. I can't figure out how to turn it back on. I've looked all through the settings.

1) Whenever I power my phone off for the night then plug it in to charge, it keeps turning on. Is this normal? Is there any way to stop this from happening? Will this have an impact on my battery life?
2) Is there any way to change the sounds for text message, emails, and other notifications? I am coming from a Blackberry where EVERYTHING has its own sound.
3) I've been looking through the "Most Popular App" threads and, of course, am open to your suggestions. Is there anywhere online where I can easily look at all of the available apps/programs?
It's kind of annoying....is there a setting or something I can do to remedy this? I am just using the default messages app.

I don't know why this has started happening as no new apps have been installed apart from those that were erased during the upgrade.

I have the Facebook app installed on my Droid and have the settings set to send me notifications for all possible things, but the app itself seems to refuse to update on its own or send me any notifications what-so-ever. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid (froyo, not rooted) on Verizon, and I use it to access 5 email accounts (yes, all are necessary). Two accounts are through Gmail, and the rest are non-google accounts using IMAP.Here's the issue: I use multiple devices to check my email, but when an email has been read on another device, the Droid notification stays on the phone. Basically my Droid shows email notifications every time I turn the screen on, even if all the mail has already been read somewhere else. Is there any way to set up the Droid so that the notifications are removed once emails have been marked as Read on the server? I don't think there is any stock functionailty for this, but was wondering if anyone can lead me in the right direction (maybe an app?) It may seem silly for some of you, but this prevents me from having to clear my notifications every time I'm about to get up from my desk, otherwise I never know if the notification on my phone is for new email or old email, and I'm on my phone all the time trying to figure that out so I don't miss something important.

I have a "Ringtones" folder on my SD with my own, but the ROMs carry theirs internally and once you change ROMs, so do the ringtones. I haven't looked yet, but would they possibly be in the ROM zip file and could I just pull them out of the zip to my computer? I guess I will look now, but let me know if this is the right way or if something else works better. Ultimately I would like to pull off all system ringtones so I can condense to my own and ones I have selected. It's overwhelming sometimes given that I don't and won't ever use 70% of the stock tones.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSorry if this is a dumb question, but does anyone know if you can set Google Voice Lite on my droid to not send so many notifications. I love the program, but when someone leaves a message, I get a text, email, and the google voice icon all in the notification bar.
I am using my old verizon cell number and just using the google voice for the messaging function.
I just would want the google voice icon to light up and then i can go right to the program.
I am thinking there is probably a solution to this but I am unable to find it. When you are on the phone and receive a text I do not get any sort of alert. Previous phones would give me a beep or something to let me know I had gotten a text. However if your phone is set to vibrate as well as ring when you get a text the vibrations still go off but without any noise. It wouldnt be a big deal except the vibrate noise apparently is very audible and annoying to whoever you are on the phone with. I am one of the few who really like the stock messaging application so I am not using hancent or anything like that. Any ideas would be appreciated

View 3 Replies View RelatedGo into your phone contacts and pick a contact you have texted. On the open field below the contact, slide to the right and you will see a list of every text message you have sent and received from that person even if you deleted the messages!
Delete contact and re-enter the contact.

Just today I have started having a strange issue with Gmail on my Droid. If I delete a message from my phone, it appears to delete OK, and disappears from the phone. If I go to the computer and log in, however, the message will still be there, no matter how long I wait. This is causing my Gmail counter widget I have installed on the phone to show an incorrect number, as it is counting the messages on the server, not the phone. No matter how many times I try to resync Gmail, once I delete a message from my phone, it will not show back up on the phone, but will remain on the server until I log into a computer & delete them from there.

When everyone other than my girlfriend texts me, my phone vibrates and plays the notification sound. Now, when my girlfriend texts me, I get no vibration, AND no sound. The only thing I could think of is that I gave my girlfriend a custom ringtone I made with ringdroid, but that wouldn't make any sense since its for a call, not a text. Please help me, shes getting mad at me when I respond 2 hours later.

I leave the phone sitting on my desk and I miss messages all the time because the phone doesn't kick on and I have the volume turned all the way down or off. But if the phone would light up, I would notice that.

The phone will vibrate for calls... Rooted, running the latest Lithium Mod ROM with Chevy's ulv 1.2 kernel. Have 11G of 14 on SD card, but only 25MB free on internal phone storage.
Just got a text message that wouldnt come thru, and it said 'no text message space left'.
Just uninstalled somethings that were 10MB, now giving me 35MB free but

View 2 Replies View RelatedLove my Incredible but one glaring issue I'm having I'm hoping to resolve here. At work I am in tons of meetings and conference calls and having a ring tone blast out isn't accepted too well So when I get to work I turn my ringtone volume down to VIBRATE and when I get a call, since I have my phone bare in my pocket, it vibrates and I never miss a call.
But as soon as I change to VIBRATE MODE, all the stuff for NOTIFICATION SOUND under SETTINGS is grayed out. If I go under MESSAGES and SETTINGS, the check box is checked for PLAY NOTIFICATION SOUND and VIBRATE.
I just tested this several times and with the phone in saver mode (screen timed out and is blank), I get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when I get a text message. No vibrate, buzz, blip or anything. If I call my phone it vibrates for the incoming call fine. BUt for a text message... NOTHING!
Since I *HAVE* to use VIBRATE MODE at work, how can I get the phone to notify me when I get a text message? Kind of important to me as an out of state relative was trying to text me information about my mother's surgery and I was not getting any notification on my phone.
