Motorola Droid X :: DX Not Syncing All Email Accts / Won't Send Corporate Email?

Nov 2, 2010

I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Motorola Droid X :: Corporate Mail Notifications

Sep 12, 2010

I have two accounts configured on my Droid X 2.1 - gmail and a corporate activex account. I get notifications for a new email coming into gmail but nothing in corporate. Under settings - accounts - corporate, I do see calendar, contacts and email are checked to sync. Also under settings -> data mgr, I have data push enabled and the fetch schedule is the minimum 15 minutes. However, if I have push enabled, I expect the email should notify immediately. Right?

Motorola Droid 2 :: Corporate Email Search On D2

Oct 1, 2010

Open the email inbox, tap the search icon and the keyboard appears - but no search box. When I'd seen that before I thought it was just an odd defect.

When you start typing the letters you type appear above the keyboard and the emails are filtered on subject/sender by what you type.

Very cool...would like to have things like sorting by subject/sender, and searching contents, but heck, getting any search at all in exchange email on the Droid is great...does not exist in stock 2.2.

Hopefully I'm not the only one who didn't know. I'm on the 2.3.15 leak...no idea if it is in 2.2.20 as well...

Motorola Droid X :: Corporate Email Exchange Got It Working

Sep 24, 2010

I tried Froyo to setup Exchange email and could not get it working. I could not get Touchdown to work either until I discovered my Microsoft ISA server, in front of my Exchange 2003 server, was not setup right. Once I got that setup ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener (v1.1) the sync started working greatThe benefits of Touchdown are immense and I am no longer interested in Froyo handling of Exchange email. I am an IT guy and will recommend this program to all my android folks.

Motorola Droid :: Corporate Contacts And Exchange Email

Everytime I use Corporate Directory to find someone on my company's exchange server to email, my only options for email's are my gmail account and my yahoo account but no exchange account. That doesn't make any sense to me and defeats the purpose of having corporate contacts. How do I make sure my exchange email account shows up as one of the options?

Motorola Droid :: Corporate (Exchange) Email Sorting?

Dec 29, 2009

Gradually getting used to using my Droid for Corporate Email & Calendar purposes no way I would ever take this thing back, but looking for solutions to the following:
I do not see a way to sort my inbox by "From" to group those emails together. I got spoiled on my BB Storm being able to touch and hold the sender and it would sort all emails. Is there a way to do this on the Droid?

Also, when I go into my "Sent" folder, all emails are shown by the person that the emails are from, which is ME, impossible to see who I sent the email to and have to look at the subject and open the email to have any idea about the content. There's got to be a way to change this to view by who the email was sent to, which is usually what you're looking for anyway.

Motorola Droid X :: Google Applications Corporate Email Setup

Having serious issues setting up Google Apps corporate email on my DX. POP and SMTP settings, email add, password all checked and rechecked for accuracy. Still no dice. Am being told by Google Apps support that I need to hard reset the device, setup corporate Google Apps email first, and then reinstall and re-setup everything else. This seems like a hail mary approach to me, and one that I'm still not sure is going to work.

Motorola Droid :: Yahoo Email - Getting Notifications Everytime When Get New Email

Jan 26, 2010

I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

Motorola Droid :: No Email Notifications?

Jul 12, 2010

I just got a new Droid a few days ago because I was sick of my Blackberry. I set up my Yahoo email account, but I haven't been getting any notifications. I rebooted it and got a notification a few minutes later, but out of the 10 or so emails I've gotten in that account over the past two days, that's the only notification I've gotten even though I got several emails other than that one after I rebooted. I have it set to check every 30 minutes but half the time when I go to the account, I have to refresh before I see any new emails, even ones that came hours before. I also have it set to show notifications in the status bar and vibrate when notified. What can I do other than rebooting again to get email notifications? Should I look for a Yahoo app rather than using the stock email app? Should I just try to forward it all to my gmail account so it will actually work? I'm completely new to Android, and coming from a Blackberry, this email issue is really bugging me.

I set the email up as a contact and I see where you can add a ringtone but I really don't want a ringtone, just a small "sms" tone, if you will.

Motorola Droid :: Email Notifications Stays On Phone

Oct 29, 2010

I have a Droid (froyo, not rooted) on Verizon, and I use it to access 5 email accounts (yes, all are necessary). Two accounts are through Gmail, and the rest are non-google accounts using IMAP.Here's the issue: I use multiple devices to check my email, but when an email has been read on another device, the Droid notification stays on the phone. Basically my Droid shows email notifications every time I turn the screen on, even if all the mail has already been read somewhere else. Is there any way to set up the Droid so that the notifications are removed once emails have been marked as Read on the server? I don't think there is any stock functionailty for this, but was wondering if anyone can lead me in the right direction (maybe an app?) It may seem silly for some of you, but this prevents me from having to clear my notifications every time I'm about to get up from my desk, otherwise I never know if the notification on my phone is for new email or old email, and I'm on my phone all the time trying to figure that out so I don't miss something important.

This is probably something simple that I am overlooking, but I played around with the phone and searched the forum. I have a hotmail and another POP email for work. They both come up under the standard email icon and are working fine. The question is, how do I get each one to have it's own notification sound. I don't want any sound for hotmail because I get a lot of mail on it. I do want my work account to sound though. If I try to change the setting on one, it automatically changes the other one.

2. Can the fetch schedule be reduced to anything less than 15 minutes? That seems to be a very long time to wait for an email to arrive.

Motorola Droid :: Email App Vs GMail App And Push - Pull Notifications

Nov 6, 2009

Busy forum today, so I thought I would post this and try to get a response. Picked up the Droid/Motorola today and have been trying to figure out the Email App vs the GMail App and where I should tie my accounts in.

I have 4 GMail accounts, 2 Local ISP accounts, and 1 Exchange account. Setting up the Exchange account was pretty straight-forward and the phone put that account into the EMAIL application. The exchange account is also listed under the sync settings (since I assume exchange is pushed and therefore it gets labeled as a Sync On/Off ability). The local ISP accounts are POP and therefore also get placed into the EMAIL app due to them being pulled at my "every 5 minutes" setting.

The 4 GMail accounts are my real question. It basically comes down to this... Originally I setup the 4 accounts in the EMAIL app vs the GMAIL app; primarily because thats what I thought I needed to do. The problem I was was having though, is I wasn't receiving my email notifications and/or not receiving my email in a timely manner (push). I then figured out how to set them up in the GMAIL app and moved 2 of the accounts over there and ran some tests.

Emails sent to the 2 accounts in the GMAIL app were pushed to the device nearly instantly. Often times I would receive notification on the device before I got them on my desktop. The emails sent to the gmail accounts on the EMAIL app didn't notify me until the fetch timer (5 minutes) kicked in.

Now even though the auto-configure feature of the EMAIL app when setting up the gmail account defaulted to IMAP rather than POP, I wouldn't think that IMAP would be quicker. I guess it doesn't matter, it all depends on the fetch frequency in your settings.

The problem is, I like, almost love, the combined Inbox feature of the EMAIL application. I also like the account color-coding it does to make reading emails in the combined inbox easier. From what I can tell, the GMAIL app doesn't have such a feature and I need to Menu>>All Accounts>>Select Account>>Open Email to read an incoming message. I assume the GMail app takes advantage of Google Sync and therefore pushes your email to the device, but apparently this isn't available in the EMAIL app itself?

Motorola Droid X :: Sound Notifications For Text And Email Stopped

Aug 16, 2010

I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.

I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
