Just wondering if there is a way to keep the Droid 2 browser from loading WAP sites? I don't care to be directed to mobile sites. I know with the Droid Incredible, there is an option to disable mobile sites and get the actual web site.

just bought my Droid on Sunday after the underwhelming Nexus One release. I'm using the Dolphin Browser and struggling to figure out how to get back to the mobile versions of sites. I know it was sending me to the mobile engadget site there at first, but lately I can only get to the full site. I'd really rather see the mobile one for loading time purposes. I remember on my Hero there was an option buried in the menu for this, but I can't find it on the Droid. Does it matter that I'm in Dolphin instead of the stock browser? And doesn't AndroidForums have a mobile version as well? Can't seem to get to that either.

Got easy tether working on laptop with driodx, except for those sites with previous logins. Times out on the login screen. Any suggestions?

How do I keep the browser from sending me to watered down "mobile" sites instead of the full blown site. For example m.si.com instead of the full sports Ill site. a couple sites just starting converting me to mobile without me wanting it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so Android comes with this great web browser built in, but I've got a problem with it that is driving me nuts... there is no way to change the browser agent string so that it may be detected by websites as a full-featured browser and deliver desktop web page content rather than mobile browser content (You are redirected to ESPN's mobile site for example when browsing to www.espn.com). In Browser Settings I have Mobile view unchecked, but this does not affect being redirected to mobile content websites. I know some people probably prefer the mobile formatted content, but I wish it was at least an option so I could get to the true desktop version of a site if I wanted to.

about.com etc. Sometimes foreign language sites show up, in non-western characters.
The phone is new. I've tried clearing the history and the search history, disabling search suggestions, even setting airplane mode in case the phone was fetching this live.
Is there a way to have the web browser remember username and password for bookmarked sites?

My question is, is there a stock browser that can download from rapidgator or uploaded sites? I know i can use opera browser or mozilla to download. but i dont want to use another browser.
ps. i also tried to change the user agent from mobile to desktop but no luck.

View 2 Replies View Relatedlooked for an answer on quite a few threads and forums on this one.on my moto droid, there are a couple mobile sites that will not stream video, but work on my old omnia, and my brothers htc hero. ie break mobile, the onion, and a few random other ones. sometimes it will play one video, then every other video from that server gives a "video not eligable for streaming on this device" or similar error message. it seems odd to me that some mobile vids will work on a hero but not the droid? or is it just my phone? anyone else fed up with this?

View 39 Replies View RelatedI have only had the Droid for 24 hours and I have had it reset on me about 8 times already. I really am not too sure why. Mostly its been while doing different tasks in different applications. But as of the last 3 times, it has been while I was using the Broswer. Essentially, it just completely locks up (no haptic feedback either) and either resets itself, or else I have to hold teh Shift+Alt+Del to reset it.Has anyone else had this problem?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI don't know what has happened with my phone recently. I had flashed ss4.8, ss4.9, lfy 1.9, and now cyanogenmod 6.1 RC3. My phones internet browser has force closed constantly on every ROM I mentioned above. Its never done this before. I can't even hardly load or scroll through a web page and it force closes almost everytime I use the internet for more than 5 mins. The phone itself has been horribly slow too no matter what kernel I use. I noticed something about JIT in the cyanogenmod settings, could this possibly have something to do with it? I have no clue I'm just shooting in the dark but my phone has been almost unusable.

So the user can switch to the browser whenever he finished reading the current activity and the page is already loaded. Is there a way to fire an Intent (Browser) but stay in the original Activity? I'am aware of the FrameLayout approach with setting the visibilty but this is not possible with the default browser.
