I know that most of these applications have Java libraries or functionalities exposed as REST based WebServices. But since there is a lot of variety and disparity in the ways that these libaries are written or service that can be consumed, is there any single, integrated service or middleware component that I can use to provide a unified interface in my mobile application?

Jun 2, 2010If you think that your battery is getting too hot record it's temperature so that anyone interested in researching the issue has some consistent numbers.
To do this, go to your phone and:
-Dial: *#*#4636#*#* (You don't have to press Call)
-Press: Battery information
-Post: Battery temperature
Mine, after it's been sleeping is: 23.8*C
I don't know if the temperature can be displayed in *F.
I haven't found an App that records CPU temp for the Incredible, if it's possible.
F to C Deduct 32, then multiply by 5, then divide by 9
C to F Multiply by 9, then divide by 5, then add 32
Motorola Droid :: Cpu Temp Went To 120
Feb 13, 2010I was struggling to get overclocking to work with the bugless beast, so instead of doing the update.zip, I did a clean wipe and loaded it on a clean slate.
I started to re download all of my apps and didn't set the set cpu first. By the time I got the temp monitor installed I realized that my cpu was at 120 degrees F.
I'll bet it was there for 5 minutes or longer.

I only see this with people in my contacts that have the same first name as a facebook friend people like Bridget are fine.

May 24, 2010I know there was a discussion of using a temp monitor app back when Taz had kernels that could access it, but now that BB 1.0 uses BeKit is there an app that can monitor cpu temp again?
I think setCPU monitors battery temp which I guess is ok, but it's not perfect. Is there another program that monitors battery temp (if CPU temp not available) without using setCPU?

I have looked around in the "all things root" and most post seem to be about putting on a different ROM.

Motorola Droid :: Monitor Processor Temp
May 28, 2010I'm running BB1.1 at 1.2Ghz. Yes, my Droid gets hot, but it also got hot before I rooted. I work out of the office all day and rely on my Droid to stream Rhapsody, Air1 and DroidLive as well as some long phone calls. The heat generated has never caused a *problem*, but I sure don't want to create one either.
So, I'm wondering, how hot is too hot; and, what is the best way to keep an eye on it?

I installed temp monitor and asked it to display cpu temp on the screen and it told me that I was not using a Tasmanian custom droid kernel? Aug 25, 2010I've had an ongoing struggle with my X's battery life, from day 1 with 2 different standard batteries to try until now with the extended battery.
I've tried it all and thensome and nothing has majorly improved my battery life. I won't go into number of hours I get or usage details or anything, but I have a question I cannot seem to find any solution to.
I noticed after I updated to leaked 2.2 Froyo that very often the 3g up and download arrows are both lit up and basically never turn off. After a few days of trying to figure out what it was (and using Juice Defender in the meantime to shut data off except for 15 min intervals), I think I've figured out what is causing the 3g data to often constantly be transmitting.
I went into the Battery History screen, left it set to "Since last unplugged" and went to "Network usage". In here, the bar for "UID 10012" is very high, almost all blue. Every time I exit the menu and go back into to re-check those data numbers, they are always increased after only seconds while the 3g data symbol is active.
Inside of the details for that are several built-in system app names. I tried stopping a few of these through the Applications menu of the phone where you can stop services/apps.
I finally have force stopped one (has worked several times now) that has stopped the 3g data instantly every time.
This one is "Social Messaging Service".
Every time I click the "Force stop" button within that app's info page in the Application settings of the phone, the 3g data arrows stop lighting up instantly.
Is this app related only to the Social Networking built-in app (which I don't use/need)? Is it tied to other things? Is there a downside to me stopping this?
I can't seem to keep it stopped and it seems to cause this 3g data issue every day at some time (multiple times usually - seems to happen again a few hours after I've stopped it). I think it is attributing to my sometimes bad battery life.
How can I stop this ongoing Social Messaging "bug" battery drain?
Motorola Droid :: High Temp - Lower Battery Life
Apr 7, 2010Well recently, its been getting REALLY hot here in New York. And with it, my battery temperature has been idling in the 30-35 range, higher in my pocket, and therefore its been at 40 constantly. I've done nothing today with it besides maybe 15 minutes of music via headphones total, and I'm getting like 17 hour battery life. I used to get this while spamming apps, playing around, browsing, etc. Does temperature increase battery use or is it time to switch ROMs (Petes 0.8 has been a battery drain on me).

I know with the HTC Droid Incredible, as well as many other Android smartphones (other than Motorola it seems) there is an option to disable mobile sites and get the actual web site like it would be displayed on a desktop computer.
