Jul 22, 2010When starting to enter a URL into the browser I keep getting sites popping up which I've never been to. Is there some way to stop this, or to clear the list?
Eg enter 'a' and I get
amazon.com
ask.com
apple.com
adobe.com
about.com etc. Sometimes foreign language sites show up, in non-western characters.
The phone is new. I've tried clearing the history and the search history, disabling search suggestions, even setting airplane mode in case the phone was fetching this live.
Android :: Browser Redirected To Mobile Sites
Oct 14, 2009OK so Android comes with this great web browser built in, but I've got a problem with it that is driving me nuts... there is no way to change the browser agent string so that it may be detected by websites as a full-featured browser and deliver desktop web page content rather than mobile browser content (You are redirected to ESPN's mobile site for example when browsing to www.espn.com). In Browser Settings I have Mobile view unchecked, but this does not affect being redirected to mobile content websites. I know some people probably prefer the mobile formatted content, but I wish it was at least an option so I could get to the true desktop version of a site if I wanted to.

Jan 27, 2010just bought my Droid on Sunday after the underwhelming Nexus One release. I'm using the Dolphin Browser and struggling to figure out how to get back to the mobile versions of sites. I know it was sending me to the mobile engadget site there at first, but lately I can only get to the full site. I'd really rather see the mobile one for loading time purposes. I remember on my Hero there was an option buried in the menu for this, but I can't find it on the Droid. Does it matter that I'm in Dolphin instead of the stock browser? And doesn't AndroidForums have a mobile version as well? Can't seem to get to that either.

Oct 23, 2010I got a new Tmobile Vibrant. Used Samsung Kies to tether. Worked great until Tmobile sent an update to disable tehering so I got a new phone.Now the race is on. They are trying to push an OTA update that is trying to install which the vibrant to disable tehering again and the phone gives me 24 hours each time I delay the install. How do we stop the installation for good or can it be done on a non rooted phone at all?

Jul 22, 2010I keep my phone near my head on my bed, since I use it as an alarm clock. Unfortunately the Vibrant is vibrating at the end of the charge cycle, which is distracting when I'm trying to fall asleep!
I can't find a setting to turn this off. I have haptic feedback turned off. I keep the phone in vibrate mode (ringer volume = vibrate).

Just wondeirng if there is a way to keep the Droid X browser from loading mobile (WAP) sites? I don't care to be directed to mobile sites. The Aria can handle full web and I hate dealing with crippled sites. On my old WM phone there was a browser setting where I could have it be identified as a desktop and not a mobile browser. There is a setting for mobile view, but it doesn't seem to change anything.

Jul 25, 2010I just got the vibrant 2 days ago and so far I love it. This is my first android phone and am not sure how to fix this problem. I woke up this morning and now my web browser wont work. It opens and starts loading my homepage which is only google and right when its about to fully load the web browser quits. And I know it quits because I have to reload when I open it again. I have tried turning the phone off and on and also making sure task killer isnt doing it.

Samsung Vibrant :: Phone Freezing And Then Consequently Restarting To Boot Screen / Stop This?
Nov 8, 2010So my Vibrant has been freezing on me and then consequently restarting to the state right after the Galaxy S boot screen, where it shows no signal and searching for media on the SD, etc.
Today it did some really really weird stuff!
I was using Google nav and then all of a sudden the screen froze, but it didn't reset or anything. The screen it froze was not good looking either, it looks like it's faded with scan lines.
I attached a picture, sorry for the low quality, but only had a friend's Pre to document it before I had to do a battery pull. But you can see the scan lines on the screen faintly.
