Got easy tether working on laptop with driodx, except for those sites with previous logins. Times out on the login screen. Any suggestions?
I could log back in to this forum, but I cannot log into any email, financial or social sites.

back with 2.1 there was the issue with GPS, and once it was activated not allowing the phone to "sleep." You could see the results of this in the "Battery History" screen that Spare Parts would give you.First of all this does not seem to be fixed with 2.2 unless im missing something in my settings, and actually it seems to have gotten worse.Even when i change my WiFi Sleep Policy to turn off when "screen is off" it seems as though the phone cannot go to sleep, and my Wifi is not turning off as it should.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just recently started using pdanet when my high speed internet connection at home was having issues. Oddly i found it to be very fast and work pretty flawlessly from my droid. My question is during the summer i have a 2nd home which has no option for high speed connections, but does get 3g Verizon. I mostly would use my laptop for reading emails and teaching online classes through my college. Has anyone on Verizon ever had issues using bandwidth through a tethered device as i described? I know there is this on going battle of whether our unlimited plans are truly unlimited or not. I would not use massive loads of data but i do not want to incur problems with my service either. Love to hear your opinions.

I've tested on Windows & Linux and there's no reason (that I can see) that it wont work from a mac.
However, this is highly experimental and somewhat tricky to set up. It's also my first ever Android app and was built from scratch in the last few hours.

Just wondeirng if there is a way to keep the Droid X browser from loading mobile (WAP) sites? I don't care to be directed to mobile sites. I know with the HTC Droid Incredible, as well as many other Android smartphones (other than Motorola it seems) there is an option to disable mobile sites and get the actual web site like it would be displayed on a desktop computer.

I'm using the Dolphin Browser and struggling to figure out how to get back to the mobile versions of sites. I know it was sending me to the mobile engadget site there at first, but lately I can only get to the full site. I'd really rather see the mobile one for loading time purposes. I remember on my Hero there was an option buried in the menu for this, but I can't find it on the Droid. Does it matter that I'm in Dolphin instead of the stock browser? And doesn't AndroidForums have a mobile version as well? Can't seem to get to that either.

View 2 Replies View Relatedlooked for an answer on quite a few threads and forums on this one.on my moto droid, there are a couple mobile sites that will not stream video, but work on my old omnia, and my brothers htc hero. ie break mobile, the onion, and a few random other ones. sometimes it will play one video, then every other video from that server gives a "video not eligable for streaming on this device" or similar error message. it seems odd to me that some mobile vids will work on a hero but not the droid? or is it just my phone? anyone else fed up with this?

I have a business account, jonathan@jonathanchef.com through google apps. This account is a google account! Google apps runs my jonathanchef website, I use google to access my email, contacts, calendar- these look exactly like the email, contacts, and calendar that are in my non-business @gmail.com account. The calendar that I can see on my Evo is the jlhopwo@gmail.com. I can get my @jonathanchef.com emails, but I can't seem to be able to pull up the @jonathanchef.com calendar.

"Use Wireless Networks/Mobile Networks" Location determined by wifi and or mobile networks
"Location Settings" Allow network to detect your position
"Enable GPS Satellite" requires more battery
These are the three options I can check...the first one is checked right now.if I check the second one will it update the weather automatically or is the first one all that is required and it says the battery will be drained in the third option but what about the 2nd option.
Buddy of mine rooted his EVO 4G and added tethering app. He showed me how I could connect my Samsung Captivate to his EVO via Wifi and surf using his cell (3G) connection. To my knowledge, he was connected using only 3G (no 4G signal there). However, page loads were MUCH faster on my phone when tethered to his phone than when I use my own AT&T 3G connection.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOut of curiosity is anyone getting wildly different results from their handsets speedtests vs their actual download throughput?On 4G when I do a Speedtest using either the FCC's or Speedtest.net application I fall between 200-250K/sec, if I'm lucky regardless of server. Often less. Upload always seems to pin exactly at 1mb/sec regardless of my signal.On the other hand when I tether I consistently get 300K/sec. I'm starting to wonder if the Sprint Hotpot application caps at 300K/sec?Is there something wrong with the Speedtest app? People I can compare with here at work get better speeds on their iPhones 3G using the handset test but get AWFUL, terrible speeds tethering with their iPhones.Is there a reason the speedtests app do so poorly? Anyone have any idea if the Hotspot App caps throughput?
