Motorola Droid X :: Phone Slow Very Slow

I got my x on launch day no root no 2.2 all stock .well i've been noticing its getting slower don't have much installed only about 10 apps. The browser will start and then stop when u tell it to go somewere then after a dew sec it takes back off. Text message when u bring it up it takes about 10 sec to load then another lag to start typing and there wont be any old messages in box and when they do finally come up u can't scroll threw the old ones.

I installed Froyo earlier today manually. I am trying to see where this speed increase is because right now,as it has been all day,my phone lags,it takes forever for my icons on my home screen to come up when I exit an application,and I don't notice the browser being faster.it seems less responsive to touch(not like that with 2.1)and it has locked up a couple of times. What is going on?I thought froyo should make it run smoother?and I have done a couple of battery pulls already.

I recently rooted to froyo and I installed the kernal to overclock between 250 and 12500. I use setcpu and even with it set at 12500, the phone will still act slow sometimes. For example, with a live wallpaper on, if I click to look at my apps, it stutters. If I take the live wallpaper off, its fine.

I am on stock motorblur 2.1. Just yesterday the phone started lagging hard. I took the battery out, it wouldn't turn on and would freeze at the M logo. Found out that now it will only boot up if I pop the battery out, put it back in, wait 10 minutes then hit power. My Settings physical key stopped responding period today. and I cant do a hard reset because in order to do that it restarts the phone and it freezes at the M logo. I tried to hit HOME and POWER when turning on but it wont even enter that service menu. It still lags like hell when I get it to even boot. No physical damage or anything. been working for weeks now perfectly.

I don't know what has happened with my phone recently. I had flashed ss4.8, ss4.9, lfy 1.9, and now cyanogenmod 6.1 RC3. My phones internet browser has force closed constantly on every ROM I mentioned above. Its never done this before. I can't even hardly load or scroll through a web page and it force closes almost everytime I use the internet for more than 5 mins. The phone itself has been horribly slow too no matter what kernel I use. I noticed something about JIT in the cyanogenmod settings, could this possibly have something to do with it? I have no clue I'm just shooting in the dark but my phone has been almost unusable.

My girlfriend has a Droid...but hates how incredibly slow it is and complains of the battery. We all know that a ticked off girlfriend is bad news, and this phone seems to perpetuate it. So what are some steps to speed this guy up a little and make it run longer? I'm not above rooting and flashing ROMs

So with the last few ROMs I've had installed, I've tried moving apps to the sdcard. I figured it would be a good thing, even if I wasn't running out of room. Every time I move more than just a few apps to the sdcard, my whole phone starts getting laggy. I just moved all of my apps back to phone and the "lagginess" is gone. I currently have UD8.0 installed, but it has behaved this way with LFY and Pete's BB ROMs as well. So it doesn't seem to be a ROM related.

Has anyone downloaded the swype and seem like your phone runs extremely slow when it is running. When i have the swype app running then my phone is very slow, meaning when i just hit the home bottom takes five seconds to get there with all icons showing. I return to using the stock keyboard and the lag is gone. Anyone else getting this?

I've read a couple of reviews on the Moto X and they all say that at times the phone felt sluggish and that the shutter speed on the camera can be slow at times. I know that "at times" doesn't mean it's a slow processor but vs. the incredible which is being touted as the phone that blows through any task with ease I was wondering which phone has better performance.

I'm sitting next to my girlfriend in class right now and we both attempt to look at our internet banking. I was able to pull mine up, then hers up before her banking home page would even load. I tried the google homepage and it seems to take even longer than most other websites. I would think of all sites to go slow, google.com would not be one of them. Anyone have any ideas as to why my browser loads pages so much faster than hers?

I looked for a while on this because I'm sure someone else already asked it but does your droid charge super slow on every single charger besides the one it came with?
No matter which charger I use (besides the stock one) it charges incredibly slow. Hooked up to my computer, other wall chargers and the slowest one is my car charger. I even have a couple wall chargers that just straight up make my phone start doing weird stuff. Like I'm randomly hitting things on the screen.

I've had Eris since last Christmas, so I say it's been almost 9 months or so. The biggest complain I have with this phone is how ridiculously slow the phone is. I was getting really tired of all the lags that the phone had. The major lags that made me very impatient were: 1. Phone dial lag 2. GPS lag (I had to wait 25 seconds for options to pop out after pressing "menu" button while the GPS was on.) 3. Whenever phone call comes in, it shows the digits first, and 7 seconds later, the names appeared. None of these problems were solved even after getting the phone replaced twice. I called the Verizon to see if I could get a replacement with another phone, however even after 5 attempts with various of speech techniques (even I've gotten upto a point where the rep offered me to switch to another phone) the answer was "No, you are stuck with that phone regardless whether you like it or not. I know there are many talks of multi-touch on the Droid, and I don't doubt it's existence but does anyone else notice that the touch screen keyboard is really slow?For example, I'll try to type something really fast and it'll only catch about 60% of what I type, which makes everything gibberish. It can't keep up. Not that I type extremely fast or anything. I can also see the keys I press popping up to let me know what letter I'm pressing but it still doesn't read it at times.

Is anyone else seeing slower push from Gmail? Its taking 20-30 minutes for me to get my email on my droid over the last 2 days. I haven't downloaded any new software but have gone to getting email within minutes to getting email within 30 minutes if I am lucky.

Anyone else noticed the gmail delivery from the Droid sometimes takes days? It doesn't always happen, and doesn't seem to matter the domain to which you are sending, even other gmail accounts. For example, I sent an email on a Friday, and it wasn't recieved until the following Monday. A friend of mine, another Droid user, sent an email to me and I didn't get it for three days. He too says he's noticed delayed mail delivery from the Droid. I've also noticed that sometimes the gmail icon opens a state of gmail from several days ago. I have to refresh the screen to get to 'current' data, even though I used gmail daily on the Droid.

I am having some weird issue with wifi tethering, i have 3-4 bars of 3G but no way to get online through wifi, but when i hook up USB tethering it works just fine, anyone know what could be causing the problem, also when i do get wifi to work its either very slow or it loses internet access, at the moment im using wireless tethering app off the market, ive tried barnicle wifi but my computer cant find the signal for some reason, i have tried different wifi channels, somewhere i read to set the MTU to 1200, but that doesnt help either, anyone know a solutition so im not stuck with usb

Anybody having web page loading really slow on the droid 2 compared to the X? Try engadget.com it just stalls at 75 percent for a while then finally finishes, really slow, maybe I will try a factor reset, anybody else?

All day today my market is loading slow and will not download or update my apps.Twice i got a server error message. I have petes froyo rom. Anyone else having problems. As Also my temperature weather is not displaying in the clock app which is used when my phone docks at night. Also the news and sports have not been updated since yesterday.

I've noticed on my DX, often if I try to go to a website, the market, or google maps, it'll take a REALLY long time to start working. Even when my 3G light is on, and the down arrow is black, it just sits there.Sometimes the website will say no data connection available, but this is even when i have wifi turned on!I thought this was JuiceDefender so I uninstalled it, but I'm noticing I still have the same problem. I don't want to show off my DX to iPhone friends and have it's not working this time.." moment!

I've just installed Bugless Beast 0.7.5 yesterday (loving it so far, OC'd to 800mhz), but the wifi tether is running very slow. I'm using the Wireless Tether for Root Users app, and I'm getting terrible speeds.Speeds I'm getting are: 634kbps down, 106kbps up. Is this normal or is something wrong with my setup?

Since the 2.1 update, the Market takes FOREVER to open anything. Whether it's just as the app opens, when I go into Downloads, or if I click a new app and try to look at screenshots. I just don't remember it being this slow.

right now i am trying to transfer 2.85 gigs onto the droid, its going at 315kb/s. is it cause of the new froyo leak or is something else wrong? im using the stock cable with stock memory card in my stockings.

For the past couple weeks I've had the problem of the phone taking a long time to turn off. This started shortly after installing the 2.1 update. Tonight I turned the phone off and nearly ten minutes later I finally heard the shutdown sound. Sometimes it takes 3 minutes, sometimes later. I have found that if I don't hear the shutdown sound I can press the power button and the screen will come back on then it will shutdown.
Is anyone else having this problem? I'm not really sure what would be causing this problem because I've checked it before and haven't had any extra running services other than the keyboard and voice input services when it was turning off.

It works and all, but it's kinda weird. It's like the Droid has a diff way of putting together picture messages (like w/ .gif files and such). There's usually a pause, then it starts, but each transition is slow and then after it shows, you then get whatever messaged was typed in. My g/f sends me stuff from her LG Dare, and it's all put together as it should be. It's been this way for both the stock messenger and Handcent. Is there a preference option I need to tweak?

i've had my droidx since it came out. Its always worked great. but for the last two weeks or so it has been VERY annoying. App for chatting like AIN or trillian do not connect long enough or well enough to talk to people. My service is also lagging as well as wifi. And my market is very very bad with loading. Any suggestions? I do not have an automatic task killer. And i do use juicedefender, but on days i leave it off i have the same problem.

I'm Running 2.2, CyanogenMod 6.0.0, using a Chevyno1 LV 1.0 ghz kernel with FRG22D.My home screens take forever to load after i do anything, from checking a text message, to reading the news on an app. It takes about 4 or 5 seconds to have all my widgets and icons load up. I'm OCing it to 1.0 ghz and it still loads slow. My phone performs fast overall except for this. I have five screens on my Launcher Pro home, and each one has just one widget. Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Can I clear any caches?
