I'm trying to add the primary Gmail account to my new Milestone with 2.1.I tried all the three ways that requires you to add such account as a 1st step:
- Through the "Gmail" button.
- Through the "Market" button.
- Through "Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Google" And I tried both via WiFi and via 3G.

I have a milestone with an att sim. Everything works except the phone update says it cannot connect and gmail will not let me add more than 1 account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to have a factory reset a couple of weeks ago and did not realize at the time that it made a difference which Gmail account was entered first. I really need to set a different account as the 'primary', but the only option for doing this seems to be another factory reset which will be a real PITA since I just got everything reloaded and the phone is running pretty well. I saw some instructions on another part of this forum which said that you could delete the data from Google Apps, but that is not an option and the other options (e.g., clear cache) are dimmed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to sell my HD2 running Android. However I cannot get it to reset the gmail account that I entered on it. These are things I've tried. Its a windows based hd2 running android so the correct section was a little confusing. Also I didn't flash it and of course the person that did isn't around compounding the issue. I need to maintain the flash but if I can't I can't .
1. data reset, several times
2. deleting the account ( I get an error saying, " This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults").
3. Going in and clearing "google apps" which doesn't exist.
I have read the threads that come with putting in the title above, but I have a special question.Does anyone know of a procedure that I can go through to not only change my primary Google account on my DROID but also have it transfer bought app info from the old account to the new account?I have bought well over $10 worth of apps, an I would like them associated with the account through my domain as opposed to my current account (just a regular GMail address).Any ideas here? Or is what I remember reading in the past still true - bought apps are locked to one account and cannot be changed?

His solution was:
1. Setting > Application > Manage Application > Clear Data from Google Storage

Apparently this worked great for people with G1s. Am I missing something...or will these instructions just not work with 2.0?
I am unable to use Gtalk, gmail, Maps, Market, Email (all pre installed) using GPRS/EDGE (Vodafone Live) on my Milestone. But All of these works with Wi-Fi connection. I installed Meeboo Messanger, this is also not working with GPRS/EDGE.
I called Motorola Customer care, they are saying that I have to take a DataPlan from Vodafone and should ask Vodafone to activate all GPRS/EDGE settings on my mobile. So I took a DataPlan (200 Rs. 100 MB), Vodafone People are saying that all available setting are already activated on my cell. But I am still unable to use any of them above. Every time no network connection found error is coming.
Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

I also run my own domain, and have just migrated my domain's email and calendar to Google Apps. I would like to set my phone up to sync everything from my Google Apps account rather than the random Gmail account I signed up for when I got the phone. Is there any way to achieve this without doing a Factory Data Reset? I am willing to do the Factory Data Reset if I have to, but if I need to go through that process, are there any procedures I should follow to backup important data before hand? Also, will the reset take me back to 1.5?

the next button is grayed out.the only way it will let me proceed is if I remove the https:// and then it try to connect.but it then says :" unable to open connection to server"Any help for what is more than likely an extraordinarily simple problem?

Yesterday all my contacts and my google accounts, to which they were synchronised, disappeared. Just like that, out of the blue.
I tried to add the google account again, but I keep getting a "can't establish reliable data connection" error. It is not a network access issue because internet and email (imap, not gmail) work fine, plus I tried with two different SIMs and with Wi-Fi, but to no avail.
I read about people deleting some files from their rooted Android and/or hard resetting their phones, but these fixes don't seem to always work and I'd rather try something else first.
I must say that, even though I like Android, I am getting very annoyed at how unreliable and buggy it has proven compared to my iphone and blackberry. Is it too much to ask to have a phone that doesn't reboot every other minute and that doesn't delete your contacts?
When i initially set up my evo i used a gmail account witch i no longer desire to use. I would like to switch to a newer gmail account that i set up. I thought this would be fairly simple but it turns out it isnt. From my searches people say you have to reset the phone. I would really like not to do this. I saw this on the G1 forum
Settings>Manage Applications>Gmail and then hit clear data to delete the e-mail address. Next time you open the app it asks you for your login, which would be your new email address.
Every time i tried setting up a secondary account, i get the " cannot establish a reliable network" and tells me to try again later. i am sure i have a data connection as i am able to go on the browser and everything.

I've sent e-mails to google and everything and I have yet to get anywhere. I'm extremely furious because my GMail account contains everything. There is no number to reach google at Tech Support or anything like that.
You would think that a company like Google would stand behind their products 110% and would have a tech support center to get issues resolved immediately. Nope, they don't.
