Is it normal for the Gmail last account activity to show an IP form a state that is a few hundred miles from me? Should I be worried or is it completely normal for my IP to bounce from different towers like that? It has always originated from my home state, yesterday was the only time I ever noticed I was using an IP from another state.

Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

Well it turns out that I DID have an existing gmail account and want to use that one (the email address is the same as my yahoo prefix and it would be an easier transition for everyone). View 13 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday, my GMail account totally crashed on me. I tried to log on from a computer and it says that my account has been disabled. I've sent e-mails to google and everything and I have yet to get anywhere. I'm extremely furious because my GMail account contains everything. There is no number to reach google at Tech Support or anything like that.
You would think that a company like Google would stand behind their products 110% and would have a tech support center to get issues resolved immediately. Nope, they don't. Only a stupid generated help area on the web that gets you nowhere. This is honestly making me want to get rid of this phone if I cannot get an answer...
Adding accounts was working fine but for the past 4 days I cannot add a gmail account without getting the following message "Cant establish a reliable data connection to the server"

All of my family and friends were jealous when I showed them the google voice navigation app. I also created a gmail account today when I started up the phone. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy mom wanted an Android phone and decided to go with the Droid X. She really likes the phone so far, even though there is a bit of a learning curve. The problem that is frustrating us both is that in order to sign into Google's Android Market place you must enter/confirm your gmail account. We enter her account information, which is 100% correct, and then it brings us to a captcha box. I've entered about 30 different captcha's and each time it starts to connect to Google's servers and then brings us right back to another captcha. There will be clear captcha's and I will be very careful I'm entering the correct characters and then it will still not work.Does anyone have a solution to this? Should I chalk this up as a server problem and wait and try it again tomorrow?I understand this isn't necessarily a Droid X issue as it is an Android 2.2 issue.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have wiped data and restored my apps twice with Titanium so far. It all works well, but two minor problems. First, every time I do it all of my previous call logs, and all of my previous handcent text messages also get reset. Is there a way I can restore all of these as well?
Also is there a way I can restore my non-gmail email account so I do not have to go through the whole set up of putting in the incoming and outgoing settings all over again. It isn't a huge deal, but it does get annoying redoing the path, the port and the security every single time.
I might just not be doing the correct restore as I only do the batch restore missing apps with data and not all apps with data, but I do not know for sure.
We are debugging the Sync application which we have got from the android sources. We are able to understand and trace till SyncManager. SyncManager is failing to get the account details. How it is getting the account details? Where these details are stored?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....
I'm using the 2.2 Android emulator. How do you enter your google account details? I would like to test a new app called chrome to phone which uses 2.2's new C2DM api. This seems to require being able to add google account details.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Droid was working fine until last evening when I did a battery pull, shortly after I upgraded several apps that required updates. After my Droid rebooted and loaded back up, I first noticed several error messages about app function unexpectedly shutting down. Then if I tapped on some of my more commonly used apps, they wouldn't load up (similar error messages). For example: I use Twidroyd Pro (twitter app) a lot and when I tap it, I get: "The appliction Twidroyd PRO (process com.twidroidpro) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."Similar errors I guess under the class "com." appear when I click on other apps. Not all the apps mind you. For example, my Facebook or Evernote app, when I click on them, they prompt me to enter my username & password. Others work fine. I can browse the net on it, I can "Talk", etc. What should I do next?

The trouble being he has no idea what his Google account details are. He knows neither his email address or his password. He's never sent an email from his Gmail and never set up an emergency email account for recovery purposes. I've scoured the Internet for a solution but if all you have is your phone number, there doesn't seem to be any way to reinstate your account. His phone isn't rooted as he's not that kind of user. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add the primary Gmail account to my new Milestone with 2.1.I tried all the three ways that requires you to add such account as a 1st step:
- Through the "Gmail" button.
- Through the "Market" button.
- Through "Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Google" And I tried both via WiFi and via 3G.
I've just spent a while linking Facebook details with Gmail contacts and my phone book. How should I best backup all this data now? I really don't want to have to link it all again if I lose my phone or need to do a factory reset. Is there some way of exporting all the data now? I tried exporting to SD card and then adding to Gmail contacts and this didn't copy across facebook photos.

My guess is its a linear layout in a scroll view (ignoring activity header/footer) and the headings are just hard coded.
