Does anybody know of a way to turn your Droid into a microphone via USB? For instance, let's say I want to talk to somebody on Skype from my computer, can I use my Droid as a microphone for them to hear?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've read a lot of posts in this group regarding raw audio processing. Most of them include references by Mr. Sparks about support for this in "future releases". I hope maybe he was referring to Android 2.0? To be clear, all I want to do is obtain audio data from the microphone in as high a fidelity as possible to perform DSP against it. This is blissfully outside the realm of any DRM-laden audio output issues (I hope).
So, in short, can we get raw audio off the microphone using Android 2.0 and a Droid, for example?
I have been searching for quite some time now, and I haven't been able to find a way to actually get an SPL/db value from a microphone on android. The few threads and articles that I have found that discussed it treated it like something SO obvious that anyone should be able to do it, and were more concerned with getting their conversion algorithms correct. Does anyone know how to do this?

I installed handcent on my eris today and do not have the microphone icon available on the quick reply screen. Any ideas how I can get it to work? Is this available on the eris?

I'm working on an app that uses AudioRecord class to get input data from the phone mic. For some reason I'm unable to mute the mic. I have tried with different AudioSources (DEFAULT, MIC and VOICE_UPLINK) when creating the AudioRecord object, but there's no difference in the muting behaviour.

Pretty much no one can hear me if I call them, If I set it to speaker they can hear me fine (via top mic) but when I try to talk normally, still the same muted mic. I cant find any settings for this and I have tried rebooting the device. Anyone know what may be causing this or maybe I got a defective X?

Evo has failed on microphone. In call, other end says they can't hear me. Microphone problem is there any quick trick to make it normal? I want to change the phone but no store has Evo anywhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I record video on my htc-magic, the sound is recorded very quietly. (is also quiet after uploaded to YouTube etc.) Is there a way to boost the sensitivity of the microphone? Sound is also very quiet when using one of the voice recorder apps. Speaker on magic is fine (if not very tinny), can hear beebplayer, youtube etc. at reasonable level. Also made sure my fingers are not covering the microphone hole (next to USB port)

Is there a way to adjust this? I was at a concert last night and tried to record a few clips, and when I got home, everything is muffled as hell. I found someone else who posted a video of the concert and was maybe ~15-20' from where I was at, yet theres is clear. I doubt it was from another incredible, but I've had this issue with digital cameras too. Any way I can fix this so I can get some good clips next time i go to a concert?

I'm a little surprised at how little this is being mentioned and I'm also puzzled at why this feature was dropped since on paper it sounds like such a good thing. In Play Magazines as well you the mic icon from Ice Cream Sandwich. The Play Store has (somewhat) recently undergone a significant upgrade when Jelly Bean was at a mature age of version 4.2. It will updated again in time for 4.4 KitKat, evolving into line with current Android design guidelines featuring the sliding navigation drawer. Will Google then update the mic icon or will they revert it back to the ICS style in the future?

Noticed today that every time I get an incoming call and answer, the caller cant hear me talking. When I call them back they hear me fine, but when I answer an incoming call they can not hear me. This just started happening today.
