Samsung Moment :: 2.1 - How To Custom Ringtones
Apr 12, 2010I just joined the rooted 2.1 family and was wondering how would I do custom ringtones? I'm using RingTone.... When I save the file as a contact ringtone, it still plays the crappy default one.... I know I'm doing it right but what keeps getting it back to default?

Nov 23, 2009i cant figure how to put assign custom notification ringtones on my samsung moment. i have the ringtones in a folder on the sd card and i was able to play them thru the music app and assign the one i wanted for the ringer but i cant get the one i want for sms to work. i have had my moment for less then 2 days (and charged it six times) and i tried searching but came up with nothing.

Nov 12, 2010How do I get my custom ringtones from rooted media folder to show up in selection menus?
I am rooted and have successfully copied .ogg .wav or .mp3 ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones, notifications or alarms folders. I can even play them from those folders on press.
My hassle is I am not able to select these as my tones. They don't show up in the menus. I want them in the root because if I am connected to my pc and an email/text/call comes in that is assigned a Custom tone on sd, then my tones revert back to a default tone and I have to reset them all when i disconnect from pc

Jun 25, 2010Is it possible to store custom ringtones on the device itself (nexus one) rather than on the sd card? t5hat would eliminate the problems resulting from a mounted sd card. when I have the sd card mounted and someone with a custom ringtone calls I don't get any ring at all.

Sep 26, 2010I recently upgraded to JH7, and realized that I can no longer use my own specific audio files as ringtones anymore...its only letting me use the stock ringtones. When I go to Settings > Sound and Display > Voice call ringtone , the only ringtones I can choose from are the ones that came with the phone. It's the only thing that pops up. Theres nothing for me to click anymore that lets me search my android system for audio files.

Aug 28, 2009I received my Galaxy today after much waiting around for O2 UK to make it available. I've been perusing both the Galaxy and other Android device forums and it seems that there's a huge amount of difference between how to get custom ringtones / notification sounds working between different phones.
Has anyone got it working on the Galaxy yet? I'd love to replace the standard sounds with Zelda ones.

Mar 6, 2010So, got this new "awesome" phone I've heard so much about and I'm starting to get really irritated and about to throw it against the wall.I've read tons of posts on this forum and others and can't get new rintones loaded, and advice? I've used the sync feature in Windows Media Player to load music, and when I go into the Music Player on the phone, they are all there, but show unknown artist, unknown albulm, whats the deal? I deleted them and re-loaded, same issue. I deleted again and did drag and drop and they dont show in the medai player at all.

Sep 12, 2010Totally new to "smart phones" and feeling pretty dumb right now I have managed to download a bunch of sounds (mpga) and saved them in my "sounds" folder on my Captivate. And following advice, have gone into my Contacts, scrolled down, and assigned a file as ringtone, then hit "Save". When viewing the contact, it shows the file as being assigned as their ringtone. And then when the call comes in.... Rings as default. Whats going on? Do the sounds have to be in the Ringtone folder? If yes, how do I do that? If no, what am I doing wrong?

Jul 30, 2010Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere else but I've searched the website for quite some time and I can't seem to find the answer. I picked up the Captivate the other day and so far I love it but is there a way to assign custom non-Samsung message tones? I mean for texts and emails, calender alerts. When I open the apps and go to settings then change alert tone only the Samsung preloaded ones show up. I can choose any ringtone for calling, just not messaging. I downloaded several apps such as SMS Pop-Up and Chomp SMS to see if that would give me the option to choose any tone but no such luck. My last 2 phones have been a Blackberry Bold 9000 and a Backflip and both those phones had those capabilities. Anyone have any ideas?

Nov 18, 2009I am new to the Sprint and the Moment scene and was wondering if someone could maybe explain how to organize my ringtones and music better than how it is done now. I can connect the phone to the pc just fine and mount/unmount and copy files and such. What is bothering me is how the songs list in the player and under ringtones, seems all list the same in both places, I made a playlist, but I don't want my songs listing as ringtones. Anyone know how to do this better? Also, how to make it read the song tags info as well.

Samsung Moment :: How Is Custom Rom Community For Moment?
Dec 26, 2009I've been eyeing the Moment and have toyed around with it and the Hero at the Sprint store. Why is it that people seem to prefer the Hero to the Moment almost 2 to 1? It seems to me that the specs are better, screen is nicer, and the UI can be customized to be as "pretty" as the Hero. Is there something I'm missing?
On a similar note, how is the custom rom community for the Moment? I know there are a number of roms available for the Hero, but I can't even find anything in development for the Moment. I'm not even clear that it can be rooted yet (definitely want to do that so I can install to the SD card).

Jul 19, 2010I've been getting annoyed at being unable to assign my ringtones to my gmail synced contacts. Something that was a non issue on my old faithful G1.Samsung, it seems, has seen fit to screw with the contact management making it necessary to have a contact in the phone memory proper to assign a custom ringtone.I have found a simple solution. Download Ringo Lite from the market place. It will allow you to assign ringtones to any contact on the phone in a really simple manner and the app is free. It has other features like assigning rings to sms messages and stuff but I don't care about that or need that. But for setting ringtones it works just dandy.

Settings/Notifications: Use system sounds: ON
Set your ring tone as custom ring tone which is .midi file. Please note that .midi is default extension for custom ring tones for Android 4.4, .mp3 can't be set as ring tone (at least, on my phone).
For incoming Viber call: do not answer and wait for other party to hang up.
Ring tone continues to play even after disconnect, the only way to stop it is to exit from Viber (or to terminate Viber using Task manager).
Samsung Moment :: Where Phone Stores Media?
Jul 11, 2010On my Gallery, where my phone stores media ( pictures, videos etc ), there are a lot of albums, like " Camera pictures" "Camera media " all pictures" and when I take a picture, it puts the picture into ALL 3 albums, this is annoying, is there a way I can make it to where I just have like one picture and one video folder? Seems like a waste of space to have the same things in 3 different albums.
