Alright, I've looked around but haven't ever found anything concrete for this.Is there a way to keep my ringtones/notifications off of my default music player?I tried adding a text document called .nomedia as I'd read in a different post with no luck.

I've downloaded some custom ringtones and notification tones onto my SF. However, they all end up in the music player. I don't want to hear my ringtones and notification tones while I'm going through all my music... Does anyone know how to get keep these custom ringtones and notification tones out of my Music Player?

At first, I was able to set ringtones for when people call me but I tried to do something on my memory card so that I could get ringtones as my text message alert so I put everything under "notifications" "alarms". Then I realized there was no ringtones anymore. Okay so now the only way I can set a ringtone is through the music player thing. I've reformatted my whole memory card thinking that would help but it didnt.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the droid eris and I have tried MULTIPLE apps for ringtones and they either stop working, do not set or just suck (all scratchy). I went to verizon today thinking maybe something was wrong with my phone and they suggested that I use Zedge. I downloaded it don't like it much (hard to find what your looking for)
Anyways.. Does anyone know wtf is going on? Am I doing something wrong? (Tried assigning the ringtone/notification with the app and through settings)
I am using the stock music player. Why does it also play the ringtones that I have added to my SD card?

when open my apps gallery is running and set current gallery image to imageview and playing one audio file through media player if i come out of my aps even it is running. i tried to give mp.stop() and mp.release() in destroy method but it wont work for me

I love my Evo, however the music app will play EVERY song it finds, including my ringtones and YouMail messages. Can I make it just play the songs in my songs folder (and sub-folders) on my SD Card? I only want it to search my songs folder, not the whole phone or the whole SD Card.

I like the notifications of my emails, but not the fact that it shows the email body and subject. Is there a way to only show that there is a new email but not what or who? I have an app locking gmail to keep emails secure but people can still read them from notification tab.

When I go to change the notification ringtone in the settings, the ringtones that I have on the SD card don't show up, only the stock ringtones show up. I have tried the main settings, Handcent SMS settings, and the defualt Messages settings. Nothing works. I have uninstalled and re-installed Handcent but that didn't help either.

For example, if you're using Moboplayer to view the pics and vids you've shot with your camera, and you have a game like Dragon's Lair that has hundreds of mini 3 mB vid clips on your device to play the game, when I try to view my personal videos, I have to filter through the 800 some odd game vid clips just to look at my home videos. To add insult to injury, if you use a backup like Verizon that backs up only your newest movies and pics, it also downloads these hundreds of vid clips as well as photos of the uniforms on a game like Home Run Battle.

I am going to play music using the music icon mind you not pandora or google listen at an event for a little over an hour and a half and when the phone (Moto Droid) is silenced it still interrupts the music a little whether it be a text or a phone call.

But I digress- I'm having 1 problem in particular and after reading up on forums, and numerous google searches I've reached the end. I concede!Whenever I'm using my hero to play music in the stock player (and I believe Last.FM too) & I receive a notification- be it IM, text, email or anything else- my phone remains silenced after the notification is over. So I'll get a text, the phone will silence my music to play the notification (short beeps, long beeps, full ringtones,) I'll check the notification & my music player still remains silenced (edit: while its still playing- & when I hit play it continues where it was paused @ not where I was last listening to it.) I have to pause & replay whatever song is on or wait for Last.FM to move to the next song or skip the last song to hear anything. This is happening no matter how I'm listening. Cabled headphones, bluetooth stereo headphones, the speaker.

The issue: I downloaded a ringtone and now it is showing up with all my mp3's (500 or so) in the Play Music App.
What I need: I do not want the ring tone to show up in the Play Music App but I want to keep the ringtone because I use it to identify when my girlfriend calls.
What I don't want to happen: I do not want the ringtone deleted because I still need it to function as a ringtone for one of my contacts.

The procedure is given on page 75 of the manual. But it doesn't work.When I try it, I get a screen that says to press Menu and touch "Get friends" or "Accounts". But pressing Menu does nothing.I've gone through and activated sync for all accounts (and run sync multiple times), and my contacts DO all show up when I select "Contacts" from the home screen, but the manual's procedure still fails as described above.

I tried to email myself a ring tone on my Fascinate and it comes through, gives you the option to preview it, but no option to save it to the sd card. Does anyone know how to do this? I ask because I have friends that swap ring tones around and it is now impossible to do this for me.

I've tried putting them in /media/audio/ringtones as well as the .nomedia text file solution, but unless I am doing something wrong, or it just works differently with this phone, the files still appear in the Music Player app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a SF about a week ago, and am loving it! I rooted within 30 mins of leaving the store, and wanted to downclock the phone when the screen is off. I've been reading a bit, and apparently the Fascinate downclocks automatically to 100MHz by itself? Can anyone confirm this for me please? I tried setting the screen off profile on SetCPU to 200MHz, but noticed my phone freezing up in standby mode. Nothing would wake it up, except a battery pull. I tried bumping up the speed to 400MHz, same effect. I noticed the problem became worse and worse since I've installed it. I had to stop using SetCPU. The problem went away after I stopped using it. I was using SetCPU 2.00 I believe.Also, another question. Is there anyway to set custom ringtones for individual contacts? I don't see the option anywhere.
