View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that Google maps is always taking up a big portion of the battery in the battery menu. If I freeze it with titanium would that make a significant difference? I use it seldom enough to go thru the trouble of unfreezing it when needed if it's worth it..

do you think it would work for the Ally?
this isnt the same as all the others, i rooted my phone and was able to download apps for a few minutes, after that all my apps would sit at "starting Download" i would wait hours for it to work but nothing ever changed. i paniked and reset factory settings on my phone so i only have stock apps and SU, the catch is it wont let me delete SU so my warrantee is void. also when i try to reboot recovery it looks like it will then goes black and starts normally. is there a way to remove SU or reboot recovery another way? i would be fine if the market started working again please help.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI dropped the Dual Clock widget on my home screen then deleted it from the home screen. When I go to Settings/Applications/Running Applications the updater for that widget is active. I have not found a way to permanently get rid of the Dual CLock update service upon reboot. I know how to manually stop it from running but don't want to have to do that every time my phone starts up. What a pain. Since it's not an app it cannot be deleted.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI use my Ally mainly as phone/email device and do just about 10 mins of browsing web a day. Under this kind of usage, battery level goes to about 50% after 12hrs from unplugging the charger. With some more browsing, it can get down to 33% easily in 12 hours. I guess it will be dead by 18 hours this way. I wonder how you guys batteries are doing compared to mine. I wish it lasts a bit longer than this.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning with about 45% battery after 2.5 days on standby and i installed the updated while charging the phone. after the update successfully installed it started charging again at 49% and its taking a lot longer to charge. im guessing this maybe a good thing..before this i got 3-4 days without charging (many emails on phone, texts, a few calls) and i had gps off and htc sense for facebook off, now im going to see how long it lasts with those two things on, since this update addressed the issue with facebook for htc sense.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince i got 2.2 it is taking much longer to CHARGE my battery. Before the update, it seemed to gain about 1% every minute, so about 1.5hrs to go from 15% or so to full. I thought it seemed longer lately, so at about 11:20 i plugged it in with 17%. At 1am, it was at 66%. Usually it would be close to or at 100%. What gives?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone ever have trouble taking the back battery cover off? I just got my phone on Monday, and ever since I put the cover on I've wanted to take the cover off to see if I can find where the SD card is (which if anyone could point that out for me that would be great). However, when I get where only the part where it has the slit open, I feel like I would break the rest if I keep pulling that is how good it is on my phone.

My friend worked with me doing all this:
1. Flashed a root file to get root access | All fine
2. Checked root access | All worked
3. Flashed CWM recovery | All
4. In CWM, we flashed Cyanogenmod | Not fine
5. After, we factory resetted | All worked (CM)
6. We flashed gapps | All fine
7. CWM was stuck in a bootloop, after taking out the battery the screen turned to colored dotted lines
8. Phone has a blackscreen and somtimes gets the colered dotted lines
The only thing i want now, is to use my phone as intended, I just want it to work.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and the battery drains way too fast. I looked up online how to keep it going more, but even with those tips, it still doesn't work. I went to Battery and checked what is draining the battery so much, and according to my phone, its the brightness. take a look: 94%??! That's insane, and that does not sound normal to me. I tried lowering the brightness, even to the lowest possible, and the percentage does not change at all. Why is the brightness taking up THAT much battery, and how do I fix it so it stops taking up that much?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got the upgrade to Froyo yesterday AM.Twice during the day it unlocked and I had a msg "Loading" while my icons loaded. Then this morning it did the same thing, but it didn't have the name of the program under the icon, plus my buttons for "Phone" weren't there. So I pulled the battery and it was back to normal.I've never really had these issues prior to the upgrade, but if rebooting is a part of the process then I'm curious if there is a way to reboot without having to pull off the case, separate the back door and pull the battery out. Anyone know?

I am a budding developer in Android platform..while I have developed some small tools on Android, the project which I am on now demands a unique requirement.. I want to keep the phone running my application always on and must boot up automatically when a charger cable is plugged in. I know this question has been asked many times and there are many threads for this. But to no real answers..
I had managed to do the auto boot on power insert by editing a script called "battery-charging" in /system/bin in a version of Android I used earlier.
I managed to get the same effect in another device (a Samsung phone) by editing /system/bin/chargemon
Forum rule says I cannot post the external link ... this is how I did achieve what I wanted earlier...
Code:
echo "echo skipping chargemon" > chargemon.script
adb pull /system/bin/chargemon chargemon.backup
adb push chargemon.script /sqlite_stmt_journals
adb shell
$ cd /sqlite_stmt_journals
$ su
# mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system
# cat chargemon.script > /system/bin/chargemon
# chmod 755 /system/bin/chargemon
# reboot -p
'
But I have been handed over a phone running Android 2.2.1 where I could not find both "chargemon" or any file regarding battery charging status in the /system/bin or in any other path.
I just have to edit the script which executes the battery charging animation graphics when the phone is switched off but is powered up to allow the phone to reboot.
which file to edit to make the phone reboot instead of just showing battery being charged..
Has anyone out of no where receive a low battery message with the red blinking LED when you know your battery is at like 70%. Then after rebooting your phone find your phone to be back up to 70% power?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSeems there might be a trend towards phones coming with non-removeable batteries.
Is there a definite way of rebooting one of these phones if it crashes or freezes on the odd occasion?
Is this normal?
Often at night before I go to bed I'll plug it in to the charger, and the 'charging' icon doesn't appear. I left it overnight, and sure enough, it didn't charge.
I powered off, rebooted, and it is now showing the 'charging' icon. This has happened before.
So I was out on my motorcycle and had about 60% battery left on my Vibrant.Figuring I wasn't going to need the phone for a few hours I powered the phone off, calling myself saving battery. When I turned the phone back on I was totally surprised that the battery was down to 38% immediately following powering up.This happens every time I power the phone down-I lose about 20% consistently. It also happens when google maps shits itself and either freezes the phone (necessitating a battery pull reset) or causes a spontaneous reboot. Is this normal? I've had my phone for a bit over two weeks (so out of my remorse period) and my besides this my battery works and lasts rather well, considering how much this phone has going on.

View 3 Replies View Related1st time poster so sorry if this has been discussed.I just got my LG Ally and have never owned a cell phone with such terrible battery life!I am coming from a Blackberry which would last me all day and night.I am lucky if my Ally gets me to noon w/o the 10% warning coming on.I go to settings and check my battery usage and I really don't know what to make of it.Yesterday it showed 93% battery use was from the Android system.Today it shows 81% is the Whoopee Cushion (app).I did use the Whoopee Cuchion app for about 3 minutes earlier today so why is that taking up 81%?I guess what I'm asking is - there anything to conserve battery life?Do I need to turn something off?Change a setting?I did take the advice of a friend and installed Advanced Task Killer but I have noticed NO difference in battery life since then.Any help would be greatly appreciated. And please keep it simple.like you're explaining it to a 5 year old.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a new battery for my Droid, and the battery came 60% charged. So I did the battery drain until it powered off. I then put it on the dock to do a full charge, and now the phone is in a constant boot loop. It reboots up to the home screen and mounts the SD card. It stays on for about 5 seconds after mounting the card, and then reboots. I tried just plugging it into the charger w/o the dock, and still does the same thing. I have also tried pulling the battery, putting it back in and charge. Same. I have even tried doing a power down from the home screen within the 5-10 seconds the home screen stays on, but no luck. It turns off before it completes the shutdown and reboots again.
