HTC Incredible :: Taking Back Battery Cover Off?
Nov 21, 2010
Does anyone ever have trouble taking the back battery cover off? I just got my phone on Monday, and ever since I put the cover on I've wanted to take the cover off to see if I can find where the SD card is (which if anyone could point that out for me that would be great). However, when I get where only the part where it has the slit open, I feel like I would break the rest if I keep pulling that is how good it is on my phone.

The clear plastic on my battery cover (over the camera) has a crack going right through the line of sight for the camera. Anyone know of a good place to get a (hopefully cheap) replacement rear cover/battery cover/phone back?

i thought i am the only one to have this irritating problem of backcover in mini pro but i found out there are lots of problem with the same problem .is se going to solve this type of manufacturing problems. the sound which is produced by backcover is totally irrating and shows the quality of the materials used and this squeaking of back cover is too much out of control while you try to use hardware keyboard

Hey all. I noticed in the top right hand corner underneath my battery cover on back it says the word void. Surely this is only meant to show If I have moved anything. Only had the phone 2 weeks.

The xperia x10 has a battery which is not user replaceable, now the problem is I have a SE k790i for past 3 and half years and 2 months back the battery was malfunctioning i.e. not giving perfomance and also it had become fat due to which the back cover was not fitting to its place. I m interested in x10 mini but if same thing happens with x10 mini in which the battery is fixed into the body of the phone if it goes fat then either the phone has to break or the battery(which will lead to leak) in both cases the phone will be damaged . . . considering I live in India where temperetues are upto 45 degrees in summer is it a wise option to go for the mini ?

Does anyone else have a problem with the back cover not being tight on the sides? Sort of makes a "popping" noise when I press on the sides and it drives me crazy! Actually, almost where ever I press, it makes little popping noises, as though the case is really loose.

So this is my 3rd back cover for the phone. And every time about after a month the letters on the back cover start falling off. and for me the T has fallen off each time! My friend just lost his letter too H. Just kind of pissed about the quality of this back case, very cheap. Cant wait to get a Samsung Galaxy if it ever comes for verizon because I'm not too happy of the HTC quality. This shouldn't be a problem and never have i had a phone with this issue.

Does anyone have a problem with how the battery cover fits? If I squeeze the phone on the opposite side of the volume button towards the bottom of the phone, the case squeeks and flexs inwards. Being the OCD person that I am, I am constantly sqeeking the case and I am pretty sure that I am going to break it soon. I want to take the phone in and have it replaced but would like to just have the cover replaced rather than the whole phone.

I have to say that I am VERY impressed with the Incredible so far. I am curious on something though. I noticed when looking inside the battery cover, it looks like there's a part of it, inside, that looks melted. It goes from the camera hole to the charging port hole just on the cover itself. Can someone check there cover to see if it's just a manufacturing thing?

Since i got 2.2 it is taking much longer to CHARGE my battery. Before the update, it seemed to gain about 1% every minute, so about 1.5hrs to go from 15% or so to full. I thought it seemed longer lately, so at about 11:20 i plugged it in with 17%. At 1am, it was at 66%. Usually it would be close to or at 100%. What gives?

I've noticed that Google maps is always taking up a big portion of the battery in the battery menu. If I freeze it with titanium would that make a significant difference? I use it seldom enough to go thru the trouble of unfreezing it when needed if it's worth it..

I just got back from having my headset speaker replaced (i think it blew) and when i got my phone back, the back cover is really loose. I pointed this out and they offered to put a new cover on. The new cover did the same thing and they said that it must have been like that when they got it in. I saw the guy struggle to take the cover off when he went to pull the battery and check water spot. Does anyone else have this problem and how do i fix it. It takes absolutely no effort what so ever to take the cover off now. The slightest bump or slide and its off.

I've only opened it once while on the phone with sprint activating it. It felt really hard to take off and put back on. Is there any tip on best way to remove and replace the cover without feeling like it's going to break?

I lost my battery cover (or someone stole it) from my birthday party. I cannot seem to find one online. I called HTC and they dont have one available, but maybe I got the wrong rep? I called ATT and they were no help. There is an HD Mini (somewhat of the same phone) battery cover on eBay but it doesnt have the metal connections since the battery cover of an Aria is part of the antenna. Please help me find one! Even if I have to buy an extended battery (with battery cover) so be it. I just need my phone back.

Just came from twitter where HTCPedia had this article about the black, yellow and red insides of new phones. and they said the antenna was located on the back of the battery door and if you had it off you would have no signal haha im just a little amused i guess by that because i dont really understand how this works i mean if it doesnt connect somehow when the door is on and im a little worried the signal might not be the best what if the battery door gets loose or something idk what do you guys think From Black to Yellow and Red. Finally got my replacement EVO yesterday was all excited until I just noticed the battery door cover does not fit tight! There is a gap along the whole right side. big enough for dirt and dust to get into the phone. The build date is 7/05/10. Also, the camera lens is not centered in the cover hole. There no red showing on the bottom of the hole and a big red gap on the top of the hole. I cannot believe HTC lets phones like this out the door! Where is the QA/QC?

I took off the battery cover today when my phone wouldn't turn off. It was in shutdown mode for about 25 minutes, so I just pulled the battery. This is the first time I've taken the cover off. I've spent over 45 minutes trying to get the cover back on correctly. What a piece of trash! All the connectors are still there, but when I put the cover on, it not longer has a "smooth" feel, but its clunky since the top left side (near the volume key), as well as the top right side straight across. No matter what I do, those parts of the cover will NOT stay down. I've tried connecting the cover every different way, as well as pressing down on each connector after its on to see if I can find a lose spot. No luck. 45 damn minutes and I'm about to throw it across the room. Seriously, I love this phone but if something this stupid is going to happen, I may as well switch phones because this is the most frustrated I've ever been with a cell phone.

Is it just me, or does anyone else's battery cover come off way too easily? I'll accidentally slide it off when pulling my phone out of my pocket all the time... and sometimes it gets pulled off in my pocket so I take the phone out and the cover falls on the ground I really don't want to put a case on my phone just to hold the damn battery cover on.
