LG Ally :: Google Canceled Email / Now Phone Does Not Work Right

Well as implied by the Message Google killed the primary email adress on my Brother inlaws phone. We Know our options but were wondering if there was a way for you to get rid of your primary Gmail without having to data factory reset. He wants to not lose all of his Apps and all that. If there is No way to do this besides wait on Google to get back to him then I have ways of getting him Mostly back. Just curious for some ideas.... Has anyone evef heard about goggle shuttin down anemail withnout probable cause?

I ordered password manager for dolphin browser HD2, they pulled back the app refunded my money and said this,"Thank you for using Google Checkout. Anyone have a better explanation than the canned response from Google's legal team.

Yes, I have looked around the forum for the answer to this question but no one has the same issue as me (as far as I know)Okay, when I try to set up my school email on my Hero, I get an authentication failure and it says something like " Authentication failed. Please verify your username and password."I have tried using the settings that google has on the website and the school doesn't have anything about setting up an email on a phone ( any phone).I tried changing the server to imap.grcc.edu and I had to confirm the certificate but then it gave the error again. I also tried taking the @email.grcc.edu from the username and that didn't work either. I am really frustrated right now. And no, I do not want to forward it to my other email. I like to keep my school and personal emails separate. Sorry if I sound a bit mean but I know that's what some of you will ask me.

The audio/video works perfectly if I watch the recording on my phone, but when I email the video to my gmail account and save it to my computer, it opens in Media Player and there's no sound. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a Samsung Moment.

I love my lg ally but out of nowhere the ringer won't work. i've doubled checked that all the ringertones have been set && that the ringer volume is turned up on everything but everytime my phone gets a text or call it won't ring.

I have searched and read and followed all steps I could to the T. I cannot seem to get Apps2SD to work. I am using Drellisdee's recovery as well as Trident's Velocity 3. I have formatted the SD card to 0mb swap with 512mb Ext.3 and FAT32 for the rest. I have an 8GB class 2 (I know it sucks) SD card. I tried using Drellisdee's recovery and the one included with ROM Manager. I have verified I have the Ext partition through Titanium backup. it shows that I have 102 out of 159MB free on my internal storage and 220 out of 480MB free on my A2sd partition. If I long press on an app on Titanium backup I am not allowed to move it to the SD (The option is grayed out) and when I install an app the internal space goes down. It doesn't seem to matter if I install the app from a backup or directly from the market.
I have tried re-flashing the recovery and ROM multiple times with no luck. If anyone could help me I would be VERY great full.

Hello! I'm trying to set up my wife's droid 2. She uses outlook at work. I have outlook webmail set up on her phone. She is able to receive work emails but can not reply or send an email on her phone. It always says message not sent. Is there a setting I'm missing?

The Kindle app doesn't work in Velocity 0.3. It worked fine in stock ROM. I can download a book but when I try to read it, I get an error that it can't open the book. This happens with books I have on my archive list as well as new downloads.

I've been searching and still cant get my school email account to work? First, is my incredible capable of having multiple email accounts attached to it like my blackberry had been? The emails i really need to get to work are one from comcast and the other from my school (university of pittsburgh).

I have been using raptor with a2sd set up, the newest kernel and turbo 4. I decided to install nfl mobile so I can watch the thursday night game tonight and it doesn't work.... thought it was an a2sd issue so I reformatted my sd card and flashed a fresh raptor. It worked. So I updated the kernel and it still worked. Then I isntalled the turbo4 and it no longer works... bummer. I'm figuring that the JIT is worth more to me than the nfl mobile app so I am going to leave it alone. I did find during this process that my phone seems quite a bit faster without a2sd. I have the original sd card which I'm sure makes a difference, but I think I would have to stockpile apps before a2sd would be faster than internal memory even with a faster card.

I have an Xperia X10i with Android 2.1 in it.I have enabled contact sync between my gmail and phone contacts. Whereas contacts sync from gmail to phone works like a charm but it does not happen the other way round.That means any new contact created in the phone does not get synced with gmail.Is this a common problem? Has anyone found any solution for it? Does an SE moderator or staff care to drop in and enlighten on this issue.

I am having a very, very annoying problem that I hope someone smarter than me can help me with!
I have two email accounts setup under my Email on my Ally. So, when I select the Email button it takes me to a screen that has both of the accounts (which were working fine a couple days ago). The issue is happening on both accounts (one is yahoo and the other is my work outlook).
If I click on one of the accounts it takes me to the Inbox for that account. If I then subsequently select an email to read it takes me into that email. However, after a few seconds it automatically sends me back to the prior screen (Inbox for the account). Then, sometimes, it sends me back again to the Accounts selection screen.
I have changed the email refresh for both accounts to 5 minutes, so that should be long enough for me to read an email without it kicking me out of one. I turned on my wi-fi to connect to my home network yesterday, but have since turned off wi-fi (thinking that might have been the problem) and it is continuing to do the same thing.
On a side-note, if I open up my Gmail App (which is not an account in my Email app) it seems to work fine. I am at wits end so hopefully someone can give me some insight!

I have had my Ally for about a week now, and I'm absolutely loving it! I previously had the enV 2 from LG, so there is a lot of familiarity there. One thing I have not yet been able to figure out is how to create a signature for my email. I have the default g mail acct (I created one specifically for the phone), but I also added a hot mail acct and a private domain web acct. On my enV 2 I was able to figure out how to set up the signature for that typical "Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone" at the bottom. I would like to do the same for the additional email accounts but can't find a setting for it. does it just not exist, or am i looking in the wrong place?

Anyone else have this problem? You read an email (or delete an email) from Aol. Ally syncs to check for new emails, and the emails you have read or deleted pop up again as new emails. Extremely frustrating and inconvenient, and was wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if there's a solution. Spoke to LG tech support and their solution was to delete the Aol IMAP account and add it again as a POP3 account, then select the 'Delete From Server' checkbox. (and they're supposedly working on a fix. this problem cropped up after i installed an update in August.) This solution seems to have solved that problem, but now it takes forever for Aol to sync with my Ally; and it drains the battery. I set up GMail to sync up with Aol, but it's not instantaneous. Sometimes i don't get new emails for 30 minutes or more. Not good for business. And the Aol mail mobile web page is slow.

I have the free yahoo account setup but sometimes when I delete an email a few minutes later it will appear back as a new email. I delete it again and it does the same thing comes right back.
What do I need to do delete email for good from my phone?

I'm trying to figure out how to email an invoice I created with Google docs on my phone. From my desktop, you just click share, and you have options on how to send. There is no share button when viewing Google docs on the phone though. Has anyone figured this out?

The email account that I use on a regular basis is the email account that my high school set up for me. It is not an account that is organized with a bigger company such as google, yahoo, hotmail, etc. When I tried to set up my email account on my Droid ally, it asks me for a lot of detailed information about my server and then said it could not connect. I used to have a Blackberry Tour and it did not require any information other than username and password to set up an email account so I know my school does not have any restrictions on this type of thing.
Does anyone know what I should do? The Verizon store had no idea.

so this is really starting to piss me off, there's a whole list of things that piss me off about this ROM.
It will randomly restart Text Notifications NEVER make sound no matter what i do. Home button does not work, neither does the search button.
I've tried rebooting, re flashing, downloading other things. Still to no avail. A little help please?

I have google voice and use it for every phone call I make. I heard that there were issues with several gvoice updates, so I haven't updated google voice since 0.2.8 and it is working just fine- every call connects, no problems. Is it worth updating to the newest version of google voice with push? For those of you with 2.1 on your Eris- does google voice work for you?

I have an app that does some polling every 2 hours. I set a repeating alarm that starts a service but I have noticed that if I use some task manager (e.g. TasKiller) to kill my app then the polling will not be performed from that moment on. I know this because I store the time of the last poll, I have also checked the server logs and there are no requests received from the client after I force close my app. Is this the way alarms work or should I look somewhere else for a crash or smth? because if alarms really get canceled then how should we implement the polling?
I'm also interested in what happens with a running service if it gets killed from another app (I assume all task managers are using ActivityManager.restartPackage() to kill other apps), does it get restarted?

I've experienced the following problems in 2.1 and had hoped that it would be rectified in 2.2. FYI I'm using a UK unbranded SIM free SGS and the stock alarm with the smart alarm feature turned on. When I set the alarm for the morning and then cancel it later on (e.g. I wake up naturally an hour before the alarm) I find that despite canceling it the alarm still goes off at the initially set time.
First of all, I was simply unchecking the green alarm symbol in the "clock" application. Then as this was failing to cancel it, I would long press the set alarm time until the option delete would appear and completely deleting the time altogether, yet the alarm still goes off. I have also noticed in 2.2 that the alarm date does not seem to be as intuitive as it was before. Previously I recall setting the alarm the night before by scrolling the time forward past midnight to the morning and the day would follow suit.
However, a couple of time that I have used the alarm the alarm has tried to enable itself for the same day as being set. However, as the clock is being scrolled forward this would often show as time to alarm 6+ days and hours. Don't recall seeing that on 2.1? Finally, is there a dedicated place where more smart alarms can be downloaded and incorporated into the smart alarm feature? I know of Zedge, White Noise and others but most are not true smart alarm sounds. Often just screen shots or clips of noises, which do not segway nicely into the start of the alarm loop when the track has completed.
