I finally updated my nexus after seeing it in my notification column. All seemed okay so let it get on with it.But when I thought it was ready I cannot get further than the four moving coloured circles. I have tried to factory reset and delete cache but has made no changes. I have been in contact with google play who now say there is no more actions that can be done so will need replacement.

I am trying to get a friends Nexus 7 up and running. I recently rooted it and installed the custom recovery using my Mac with this guide while the tablet was on 4.3. All was well, but then my friend was given the option to install the 4.4 Kitkat update. After the update, the tablet has been unable to boot - it simply hangs at the startup animation. I am able to enter the recovery boot loader, and enter options to restore from a .zip, however I have no way of accessing the tablet's memory from my computer to put the original operating system back on it- although I think it could be done from Terminal, I am not well versed in command prompts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince few weeks my battery life get drained by my screen. My screen brightness is on his lowest and still draining like 20-30% battery life each hour. Sometimes my screen even drain in stand-by mode... Every other draining apps/things are off.
And then we have random reboots... My nexus 4 just reboot without any reason. Sometimes its reboot in stand-by mode and sometimes when I use my phone. But both without any reason to reboot...?
I recently got the M8 upgrading from the Galaxy Nexus. I am a design student, and I HATE, I mean HATE the current clock set up with that damn weather icon and how it all looks uneven. Are there any widgets/apps or anything which I can change this?

Is there anyway I can change my current clock or SOMETHING. I do know that I can add a new widget page and have a new clock, but I can't make this my default lockscreen. Sliding across on the lockscreen seems pointless to me - i want this visible when i double tap my phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I received an OTA with 2.2.1. After unpacking and installing the update my phone rebooted as normal. When booting the Nexus-logo appears, but afterwards the display remains black. There are indications that the phone boots up as normal, as I can hear the sounds (ex emergency-call) when pressing the display. The display works perfect in boot-menu (rescue etc)
I've tried to do a factory reset and pulled out the battery several times to try to reset - all with no luck.
In addition I've placed an update.zip on the sd-card in order to perform a new manual update, but after choosing recovery, my phone restarts and the screen turns black. Any idea how to solve this?
I updated my Droid Maxx to 4.4. The change I first noticed is that the home key takes you back to the home screen instead of just leaving an app and returning to the screen I was originly on. This is definitly new. Is there a way to turn it off?

Been using my iPhone 4 for the past few weeks and finally broke the Evo back out to compare it for a few weeks. When I turned it on I got the notice for update so I did it thinking maybe it would help with the random reboot problem I had been having. Well after the update it sticks at the white HTC screen. I have tried all the basic fixes, held down volume/power, clear storage, recovery. When I clear storage it reboots and hangs at white screen again, if I do recovery I get a picture of a phone with a red triangle with a ! in it. Any way to re-flash the phone or something to get it working? I assume If i can get something on the little SD card but how do I do that when the phone won't work? I'd really like to not have to deal with getting it replaced.

You can't tell me they can't force the OTA to override the leaked version. I would think they would force all the phones to update to their version of the OS. Therefore, if my phone bricks after the OTA then they are just being jerks right?

View 2 Replies View Related I'm suddenly having trouble opening up audio attachments/files. Running a Nexus 4 - OS 4.4.2. I get my work voicemail as e-mail attachments in .wav format. Up until today I was able to just tap on the attachment, and it would download and start playing. Now it says "No app can open this attachment for viewing". If I go into the Downloads and try to open it up, it says, "Can't open file". Same if I try and open up a mp3 that's in Downloads. However, opening a PDF or Excel file from Downloads or straight from email works just fine. If I go into the music player I can open up the .wav and .mp3 files from Downloads just fine.
I tried restarting a few times, and also tried clearing the app cache with no luck. What should I try next?
My phone working fine three months back after upgrading android 4.3.
Now suddenly no sound during incoming call and outgoing call also phone ring not working, i tried many option but its not working also i went to LG service center they are saying its android problem i am getting disappoint with google and LG service don't know what to do.
I'm having problems with my nexus 10. It wont play any videos when I'm running cyanogenmod for android android 4.4. It can't play any videos online or files. I tried another ROM for android 4.4 and it still won't work. It works fine on android 4.3 or any custom Roms for it. I'll include a video for it in the next post.

While connecting Nexus 7 and PC (Windows) via USB cable, after taking a screenshot on Nexus 7 (using Power + VolumeDown), a png-file of Screenshot is saved, but its file-size is zero (of course, png graphics is not shown).
Once USB cable is unplugged, the png-file gets correct file-size, and png graphics is visible.
I hope taking screenshots while connecting Nexus and PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSome issues are correctable through doing a factory wipe. Other issues can be corrected through reloading the image from Google's own factory image repository. However, some things (in particular the battery drain issue) seems to be an issue within 4.4 itself, and the only solution I've found has been to revert from 4.4 to 4.3.
So I'm posting this thread and asking the more knowledgeable users here on AndroidForums to post clear, concise directions for acquiring and flashing these devices back to the Google "factory image".
The reason I'm asking for the community to pitch in is that the instructions I've seen are kind of scattered, are not necessarily up to date, and they can and do vary depending on whether you're doing this with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, or with Mac OS X, or with Linux.
I was able to re-flash my Nexus 4 in Lion back to 4.3, but I had to do editing of bash shell scripts and even then had to issue the execution of the appropriate shell script from the exact right spot or else it couldn't find the command, or couldn't execute the command. The directions on Google's site were incomplete, and the ones I found on various message boards seemed more like an author's "best guess" than authoritative "you can trust that this will work" workflows.
So I made the mistake of attempting to root my new HTC one V without knowing what I was doing. I currently can't get past the bootloader screen. I've attempted installing the RUU for my phone with no success. I've resorted to extracting the rom.zip from the RUU, renaming it PK76IMG.zip (required for hboot to recognize it) and putting it on my sd card. Everything works fine up until the end when it says "hboot version is older! Update failed"

I clicked yes and now cannot access the app. I see it under settings/app/downloaded/ or all, but can't launch it. How do access it after its hidden? I have read threads on this subject but it seems like it does not apply to my phone seeing how I do not have a menu key to click once in the apps drawer.

Since my Nexus 7 updated to 4.4 I have noticed that whatever I am watching on Netflix (for example) instead of creating a small square on the lockscreen with play/pause (like in 4.3) now fills the entire screen, looks distorted and the play/pause does not always display properly.

Been googling this all day and none of the answers I've found have worked.
Every time I open Gmail, at the top it says "account sync is turned off"
How do I get it to stay on? Or is this a glitch I'm just gonna have to get used to/wait for a fix.
google nexus 5. I am wondering how to set up multiple accounts on the gmail app. I have been trying and cannot find an option to do so like in the stock email app. On the playstore it says that thw gmail app can manage multiple accounts but I just cant find the option
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 5 has been great but many of the widgets freeze regularly especially any with a clock or weather. I've did re-installs on them and it continues to happen. The clock and/or weather will update for a while and then after a few hours will freeze in time. I have everything stock still but did try a few custom launchers including nova & apex to see if it occurred with them as well and it did so I went back to stock. I did a hard reset and they began working for a few days then back to the same issue today. I've tried everything I can think of. The problem is consistent and with every widget no matter the developer. Those for sure affected are HD Widgets, Beautiful Widgets, PolyClock (a world clock), and RetroClock. I'm assuming this is a kitkat compatibility issue but do not know for sure.
I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10. The 7 hasn't been affected at all but the 10 has it intermittently. All 3 devices have updated to 4.4.2
This is very annoying as widgets are one of the primary thing that sets Android apart from iOS for me.
When I try to start the device normally it gets stuck on the loading screen with the animation.
I go into that bootloader mode and try to restore it to wipe/restore it to factory settings but I get this: [URL] .....
I must have done something wrong when trying to root the phone...what I've done and why wiping the data isn't working.
