General :: Transferring Files On Galaxy S4 I9500
Dec 12, 2013When I was transferring a few files on my I9500, I've noticed that I've lost at least half of my device storage.
When I go to settings -> Storage it says total space 8.80GB and available 3.75GB. I'm pretty sure I have the 16GB international model Galaxy S4.

Sep 26, 2013i bought samsung galxy s4 from 7 days and it workng good until once i was making a call and it said ( not registerd on network ) i opened the flight mode and turned it off and restored the apn settings too default and reseted the phone 3 times an 2 ith hard reset !

Apr 13, 2014I've just rooted my s4 i9500 runing official os 4.4.2, im new at this, I rooted my phone so I could get a different experience with it, like overclocking cpu to get faster performance (dont really know how to do this now that I have root access) (not thats runing slow, but just wanted to get the best out of it) Im really new at this I barely learned the process of rooting I've read I can flash a new rom like cyanogenmod (i guess is the best because it gets a lots of reviews) the thing is im not really sure how to do it and also is it worth it?
I want to get the best out of my phone (speed and goodlooks) mostlu because im bored of the original touchwiz.

Mar 20, 2014While using my Galaxy i9500 it crashes and phone automatically restarts with 0% battery percent
I tried this Battery Calibration app but it didn't work It says battery stats file doesn't exist!
I tried installing new rom but now as soon as I turn on the device it works for like 2 minutes in its real charging percent (e.g 60%) then crashes and restarts to 0%
The battery is original and It's not swollen.

Mar 27, 2014My Samsung Galaxy S4 will NOT charge all of a sudden. This started yesterday. It gave me an error message saying that creating a customized of could be harmful and to press the volume down key to stop it before it starts. I pressed the down key to stop it. My phone was going dead. So after connecting it to its charger and rebooting the phone; it would chim]e and say that it is charging but it WILL NOT CHARGE!
I have reset the s4 back to factory settings, I have tried x 3 other chargers that work fine with my wife's S4. I have also taken the battery and putnitnin my wifes s4 and the battery charges completely fine.
KitKat 4.4 :: Samsung Galaxy S4 Being Sluggish?
Apr 4, 2014I upgraded my firmware to 4.4.2 kitkat and now my GS4 seems to run abit sluggish. I get some delay when entering and exiting apps and also some delay when you hold the home button to open the task manager. Also when I type sometimes what I type takes awhile to come up and also takes some time for the phone to react to the buttons I press. Is this an issue with the new update. I have the Rogers version of the Gs4. Also if I have to end up restoring my phone, software because I used Samsung Kies in the past and found that when you restore your apps back to your phone. Samsung Kies does not restore your save data for the apps.

Apr 29, 2014I went upgrading from Jelly Bean to KitKat 4.4.2 on my Note-3 (T-Mobile), and since upgrading, the Note-3 no longer transfer data at USB 3.0 speed anymore, only regular 2.0 speed. i tried using new 3.0 cables, still the same issue, and my other 3.0 devices work in the USB 3.0 port on my computer with no problem. And on my phone, even the menu choice for 3.0 no longer shows as a third optioned. i downloaded and install Kies 3 and the USB drivers from Samsungs website, the same with there Galaxy Note-3 after upgrading to KitKat.

Now I want to see my apps. I couldn't find them. I did some research and they told me to do this: apps, menu, uninstall/disable apps. It worked for me for some apps but not for all of them. I couldn't get for example S Planner, Internet etc. back. How can I get ALL of my (hidden) apps back?
KitKat 4.4 :: WiFi Not Connecting On Galaxy S4 After Upgrade
Mar 28, 2014After upgrading my Samsung Galaxy S4 to 4.4.2 I haven't been able to connect to any WiFi networks. When I pull down the notification bar and tap the WiFi icon to turn the WiFi on it turns a dull green and stays like that for a few seconds, then goes back to being the colour before I tapped it. Other times, it turns the usual green but it doesn't connect to any WiFi networks and says "not in range" to those WiFi networks that I connected to before the update. It shows it scanning but nothing comes up. Another member of my family has the Samsung Galaxy S4 and they haven't updated there phone to 4.4.2 yet and they haven't got this problem.
I have no clue how to sort this out. I've turned my phone off and waited a bit then turned it back on many times, to no avail.

Every time I want to set a custom notification I get this list of Samsung sounds to choose from, instead of being asked, for instance, where I want to find the sound.
My friend, who has an LG G2 running Android 4.3 gets the following when he clicks on notification sound in Whatsapp:

I then thought to install an app that controls all notification sounds, kind of like Lightflow does notification LEDs. I found MegaSound and tried that. Gave it permission, went in, tried to set a custom notification sound for Whatsapp and was shown the same list to choose from.
Before I updated I was able to choose a wma/mp3 sound from my files on my phone to use.

Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.

General :: Galaxy S4 Crashes Unexpectedly Following Android 4.4 Kitkat Update
Mar 16, 2014I updated my GS4 to android 4.4 Kitkat through Samsung Kies. It seemed to be running smoothly initially but soon it began to crash randomly. When I tried to turn it on again it would crash again. At this point it was on about 40% charge so I plugged it in and it turned on with no problems. I had no such issues using android 4.3. It now dies at around 40-50% charge and won't turn on every time until I plug it in. It had crossed my mind that it could be an issue with my device battery but seeing as I have never had any battery troubles before the update, I think that the new firmware is likely the cause of my woes.
