I am using the AT&T SGH -1337 Samsung Galaxy S4. Android version 4.2.2. Unlocked to work with T-Mobile, USA. I am unable to uupdate the phone to any other build because it checks AT&T servers for updates. Since I am on Tmobile, it will never find updates. II've tried to use Kies. But it says my phone isn't supported or that the baseband isn't supported. correct direction on any way to manually update this device.

Can i udate the software once i put my at&t sim card in this ZR because the phone will come with 4.1 installed but i have read it is elligible for an update to 4.2. Ok, I have spent 3 days+ educating myself before I messed with my Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE (SPRINT CDMA) phone. My intention started out only as troubleshooting an issue I have where my sister's (on AT&T) Samsung Galaxy S4 will only send me MMS messages instead of plain ole SMS messages and it is causing duplicate thread issues...... so that is besides the point..... I RESET my phone to factory defaults and manually backed up everything else first as well as used "Super Backup" in the Play store as a double backup measure.
I followed all instructions to the letter on backing up using ADB, except that I could never locate the so-called "fastboot" file that apparently "MOTOROLA" makes vs the one that is included with the Android SDK. Using ADB and FASTBOOT from the Android SDK, I successfully make a backup (while the bootloader was still LOCKED) of my phone and I figured after I reset to factory defaults I could simply use the ADB RESTORE command and it would put my apps, wallpaper, email settings, account settings, shortcuts and placement of them etc.. all back where they were. INSTEAD I get a restore process that only seemed to restore the background live wallpaper and NOTHING ELSE was restored.
SO, then I figured, well this is a good time to try to ROOT the phone and see if I can get CWM to work, because I never have successfully done it before today. Got the phone to work finally after a variety of hybrid-put together instructions and used shabbypenguin's files and instructions that are available for my phone Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE today, though they are dated a lil bit... it worked.
SO now, I go to use ADB RESTORE, thinking now that I have SUPERUSER rights, I can successfully restore the ADB backup and get all my stuff back the way it was prior to the factory reset. NOPE. Same result as before... just restored wallpaper... no apps, no settings, no accounts etc.. just like stock or I should say now the CWM stock img. Why can't I utilize that ADB backup file? Can I extract stuff from it and manually apply it now that I have SUPERUSER rights?
Does the phone need to be BOOTLOADER LOCKED AGAIN in order for the ADB RESTORE to WORK?
I have a galaxy nexus running 4.0.4 and my boot-loader is unlocked i haven't changed anything at all on the phone so I'm wondering will i be able to get the OTA update for Jelly Bean when it is released or will the OTA update fail?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Pantech Flex P8010. I was rooted on ICS 4.0.4 and then I installed Jelly Bean Update by restoring rooted backup of Jelly Bean 4.1.2 uploaded by Zapper_Master.
After Jelly Bean I got smooth working phone. But, as other I had same issue of Wifi not working and automatic 2x Reboots after atleast gap of 6-7 hours. (I was knowing it before I installed update as others who updated by restoring zip also faced same issue. But, It was ok for me as I like Jelly Bean the most.)
But, there was way to enable native wifi tethering on this lovely phone on ICS. [URL] ......
And I followed same steps (After Installing SQLite Editor, I just backed up database & changed value from settings.db secure table on actual database.)
Line 1. softap_free_supported
Line 2. softap_entitlement_interval
Change Line 1′s value to 1 in the SQL editor. Change Line 2′s value to 0 in the SQL editor save and close or just close depending on the editor.
SUPPER IMPORTANT if the file permissions on settings.db are not rw-rw-rw make them so in your file explorer.
There was a risk of bricking phone as there is no recovery available for Jelly Bean.
I just wanted to let others know that above method also works on Jelly Bean. But, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I will not be responsible if anything goes wrong & you brick your lovely flex.
Installing JB on my rooted pantech flex manually. I can't recieve OTA updates so this would be the only way for me.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have rooted my galaxy note 8 with framaroot jus to use a mouse and keyboard emulator no to do anyhing technical or some ROM things and then i " regretfully" have updated the device to jelly bean 4.2.2 and now i am lost im not rooted and though i have the supersu app installed and stuck , it cannot be uninstalled.i have ried to use root manager to remove the file from inside , it tells me it has been removed however it is not also it cannot be opened it tels me " there is not SU binary installed , and superSU canot install it , this is a problem" tried to re-root the devise again , downloaded the latest framaroot . i doesnt work and tells me " failed ry anoher exploit if available" all of the other options are giving me the same thing.

Cleared cache, nothing. Cleared data, it got as far as letting me accept terms and in the notification bar told me I had apps to update, but then shut down again. As far as I can remember Play Store was working before I updated.

I'm encountering some problems when i'm trying to update my Hyundai T7S tablet to the official jelly bean 4.2 ROM.
I've the update from the Hyundai website (hyundai-digital .cn). This download comes in a .rar file. I knew it would be impossible, but tried anyway to flash this file from the SD-card. But to make it work this way, the update should be a .zip-file.
In the .rar file are 15 files, some of them are .bin and .img files. And I've not the knowledge what I can do with these files. Unfortunately the support guide of Hyundai can not be opened and two hours Google.
Is it possible to convert the .rar file into a .zip file and flesh this file? Or can I flash the rar-file in some way?
I have a rooted Galaxy S3 (version 4.1.1) and im trying to update it, after the file is "downloaded" my phone reboots but there's the problem, the CMM based Recovery v5.5.0.4 screen appears. After activating the phone, it displayed the correct date and time for my time zone, so I didn't mess around with settings to reset the time, as I would with any other device.
However, I've noticed that the time changes to exactly an hour ahead, before changing itself back several minutes later.
I went to settings > date and time, but 24 hour time and selecting a date format are the only options listed.
I prefer to leave mobile data off when I am at home and can use the wi-fi. Is it necessary to have mobile data turned on, so the phone can receive the time from a cell tower, or is there a way I can set an internal clock?
