I have a Nexus 7 2012 wifi version that I have updated to kit kat. I decided to root it but there's no way, believe me I've spent a lot of time on it. No driver available (or at least nothing works). I need to roll it back to jelly bean, then I should be able to get the correct driver and root it. So here's the 64 thousand dollar question: How can I take a device that's already been updated to kit kat and install jelly bean on it?

I heard that I have to root the device, and then find a ROM for stock Jelly Bean to load onto the device?
Best way I could describe it. On ICS the dialer would allow me to type a number and come back to it later, now when I multi-task the number disappears. I am running 4.1.2 on a HTC Desire 300, and the dialer is stock to the best of my knowledge.

I select the page where all the apps are...select xbmc app...sometimes it flicks back to main apps page other times the screen turns black/blank. I can't get further than this page....my box has worked perfectly for the past 3 months since purchasing. I can't get into the settings page as I can't get past the blank .

I of course read the woes and pro's of KK 4.2.2 after I did the update!! grin! and do not like the restricted access to my SD card folder creation file transfers etc and want to go back to JB. "A", can I go back with Odin and a stock Bell JB for the note 3, and have it all back like I did before the update...."B" What about my trip counter etc? Will that be effected?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my shiny new Nexus 7 three days ago and connected it to my gmail account. Then I tried searching the play store and it doesn't seem to be working properly - apps like iPlayer and Evernote are 'not compatible with my device' and when I search for other apps I don't get the proper, basic ones like camera, only independently made ones that are less popular. When I try to download these I get an error message - Error while retrieving information from server (RPC:S-7 EOS:AEC-O). So I tried looking for solutions on the internet - sync it, remove Google account and put it back on, I've even tried setting up an entirely new email, but nothing has worked. I've noticed my device has a permanent sync error but nothing has remedied that. This is all terribly annoying as a device is pretty useless without apps, although I managed to download Facebook right when I got the tablet. The internet works fine, and my Wi-Fi is strong.

A website I frequent recently changed to add advertisements to the right side. Somewhat annoying, but hey, gotta make money. In doing so they added a 300 pixel margin to the right side of their pages to allow for the ad. On my 1080p monitor, it's no issue, plenty of pixels to go around. The content on this page is also set to 100% wide, making it use up my entire screen very nicely. Then I view the same page on my Nexus 10, or any mobile browser for that matter, and it looks like garbage, because everything has been over doubled in size.
I get why the browser does this, to make everything easier to view and interact with. I don't care about that, I want to be able to see as much content as possible at once, I want all of my pixels to be used. So that is what I want to find out, is there any way to make any android browser display things at actual size, instead of zoomed in size? The main browser I use is the stock one because of the Desktop user agent (several sites, like Wikipedia, are so awful to navigate in Chrome since it mobile formats them) and I have tried Dolphin as well (which has a zoom setting but it doesn't make a difference). I know Dolphin has an option to add a custom user agent, so is there any user agent that fix this issue that I should put in? Or is there an app that addresses this?
Trying to root the phone. I'm not a linux pro... but I can't get the su binaries in the /system/bin folder. It won't let me mount the system saying 'Over-lap error'.
AND When I run deamon, it will start, then it will say it doesn't exist. But it's in the bin folder. Not the su though. Also, I can't connect to HTC through their software to sync or unlock the bootloader.

I recently got the new Nexus 7 running 4.3 and wondering if there's a way to block ads without rooting (I mean ads from webpages while using your browser). I had rooted my phone a long time ago and remember there was a great adblock that did the job perfectly. But I don't want to root the Nexus 7.
On my laptop computer, I use AdBlock as an extension the the Chrome browser. But extensions don't exist on the Chrome Android version (at least not that I'm aware of).
I did fine an ad blocker (forgot the name) that used a proxy, but it was a pain as you had to manually add the proxy to every wifi connection and it also wrecked havock on some websites (e.g. couldn't log into e-bay).
These ads really slow down web surfing, specially when your browser is in "Desktop" user agent mode.
BBC iPlayer switches my tablet off if I try to resume playing a downloaded programme after I've switched tablet off. I emailed iplayer support who claimed they had not come across this problem. I think it might have been since 4.4.2 was installed.

I install Kies driver in windows 7 (on my laptop) , but my computer cannot recognize my phone. the phone is charged and when the phone plug in to my computer, sometimes the phone shows the message of USB Debugging connected and connected as a media device in top of screen and shows the pic of these but after a second again this message remove. My father is getting a Nexus 7 in the next few days and since I'll be using it a bit I've decided to put a custom ROM on it. I'm going with Paranoid Android because of the whole tablet UI thing, but I was wondering if it has a multiple user system, since I didn't see it listed in the features. I noticed an option for it on my Xylon ROM on my Galaxy Nexus and I'm not really sure how it works... Does it just change which Google account the device is linked to? Ideally it would be cool if I could set up a different launcher for each account.

When I restarted my phone after a day for some other reason, I realised that my Sound Search app wasn't there on the home screen anymore and was neither in the widget list.
I tried to download an apk but it just says that this file already exists, so I'm not sure what to do!!
I have a very serious problem as I cannot reboot my galaxy nexus as i tried to update my phone to JELLY BEAN. I watched the tutorial video on how to install jelly bean on my phone on youtube. Furthermore, I downloaded this ROM ''CyanogenMod 9.0''
But unfortunately everything messed up and phone is not rebooting now.

I tried to load Cyanogenmod on my galaxy nexus. unfortunately I had copied one of the nightly update files instead of a stable version. so the install did'nt work and I did a factory reset from recovery mode. Now the computer doesn't even recognize my phone any more, when I connect it via USB. and my phone is stuck on the google screen when I try to turn it on.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have rooted my galaxy note 8 with framaroot jus to use a mouse and keyboard emulator no to do anyhing technical or some ROM things and then i " regretfully" have updated the device to jelly bean 4.2.2 and now i am lost im not rooted and though i have the supersu app installed and stuck , it cannot be uninstalled.i have ried to use root manager to remove the file from inside , it tells me it has been removed however it is not also it cannot be opened it tels me " there is not SU binary installed , and superSU canot install it , this is a problem" tried to re-root the devise again , downloaded the latest framaroot . i doesnt work and tells me " failed ry anoher exploit if available" all of the other options are giving me the same thing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot make double space-period to work on neither the Nexus 4 nor 10 (both with stock 4.3). I just do not know what am I doing wrong. What I did so far on both devices was to go to Settings, Language & Input, Google Keyboard English (US) settings button, Advances settings and checked the Double-spaced period. Based on some old threads for other devices I found here I also tried clearing both cache and data for Google Keyboard (under all Apps settings).

I did notice, however, random reboots ever since. I thought it might be some new apps, but even uinstalling them didn't solve the problem. Then I switched to Action Launcher, and after a few hours of use, the reboots started all over again.
Now I'm running only the original launcher, no troubles at all. How to solve this issue with third party launchers?
