View 8 Replies View RelatedI tried to install Swype. It installed no problem, and I can select it as an input method. All is good, untill I try to swype a word. I get the little "swype mark" blue streak deal, and it makes the noise, but no word appears in the text box area. I've tried it on the internet, handcent, and normal messages.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and have been using swype for over a week now. Last night I switched back to the standard keyboard for something and then tried to switch back to swype. Now it doesn't work. When I go to the keyboard, it's just still the standard keyboard. Any thoughts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the new version, every 2-3 days my Swype keyboard stops working. I can type normally (pushing individual letters), but swyping doesn't work.
If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.
I had wireless tether working before going to 2.2. Now it appears to be working on the phone, but on the computer it shows "Local Only". I tried uninstalling, rebooting then reinstalling... no luck with that.
Also, I am part of the Swype Beta. I had Swype resend the email when I updated to 2.2 and reinstalled. It works until I reboot my phone, then it goes into "tap only" mode. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I currently have swype and I love it, but it only works in portrait mode.. if I turn my phone landscape for anything, I always get the error "not supported in this resolution." All I want is a version that is supported so I don't get this error.
View 20 Replies View Relatedmy version of swype my Droid Eris was working fine the other. All I did was shut my phone off and turn it back on and now it seems like it doesn't track my finger frequently enough to do double letters anymore... anyone else have this problem? How do I go about fixing it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSorry if this is already somewhere on the forum. I searched and just got a bunch of complaint threads about swype. My girlfriend likes the incredible, but is leaning towards the droid x instead because she knows it has swype preinstalled. If i had it on my inc, she'd be all over it. How can i get it on my incredible?

View 49 Replies View RelatedEvery time I install the new swype beta and I restart my phone, it wont let me use it. I download it legitimately from there website with my user name and everything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA friend told me about the Swype app that works with texting. I did a search in Market Place and can't find it. Is it available for the Incredible?
View 17 Replies View RelatedAre there any Color themes besides red and black for Swype on the Incredible? My GF would like Purple or Pink.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI signed up for the beta testing a while back. Got this link in an email update from Swype. You have to uninstall swype and the old installer first. Access it from your Android phone. https://beta.swype.com/android/get/
View 10 Replies View RelatedRecenty I downloaded swype.. but it wouldn't work and kept saying the trial period had expired, and every time I try to type it just makes a noise and the border of the keyboard lights up blue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedToday my swype trial expired and the forum at xda was updated and removed the apk due to the swype developers request. I tried an uninstall and reinstall of version 1.61.37xxxx from my SD card but it was for naught.
Also the NFL mobile app gave me the "you are not a Verizon wireless customer" message on start up and I did an uninstall and reinstall of that as well and it was a no go. I remember this happened before and you just needed to get the new apk but I can't find it anywhere.
I looked around and couldn't find anything specific to an un-rooted N1. I used to have the original leaked version of Swype and it worked fine. I downloaded the Swype Beta when it came out and have been having all kinds of problems with if freezing. I've tried un-installing and re-installing and it still happens. Can someone tell me how to fix it or post a link to the original leaked version?
View 12 Replies View RelatedThis thing stopped working again, I am subscribed to the beta program, and tried reinstalling it again, but no luck.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI downloaded swype, (nexus friendly version from XDA). Ive installed it, and when I open a text field, I can use it.
I can tap the letters to type, but when I swype my finger, the whole keyboard becomes highlighted around the edges. Its not registering the swype, but I registers taps.
I've got a working .apk I found here for Swype on the Aria. Been searching for it cause I figured I'd like it best on a screen the size of the Aria's. I installed it on my stock device with no root using the Wonder Machine. Just figured I'd share.

While I still have it on my phone as an option, I switched back to using SwiftKey anyway. I'm just so use to it I can't go back to Swype.
Does anyone have an alternative to Swype that works on the Wildfire? I didn't want to spend money trying a bunch out to find they only work on non qvga screens.
View 2 Replies View RelatedQuick question,
Im ready to try out swipe, but i am not sure if it works well with the new 2.1 update, so before i go downloading it, anyone have any problems with swype and Droid 2.1?
I've got my phone up and running with sense-able 2.0 but for some reason swype is not working correctly. It never seems to make the line all the way to the letter I'm trying to type. Its like this for every letter. Its especially missing the last letter it usually ends up a couple letters away from where I end up. I was using it just fine when I wasn't rooted and on 1.5 but now its giving me problems. I've even tried playing with the settings and it doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter the update, all my music became unknown artist. And also, swype is not working.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there any working swype LITE files that are working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was prompted to update swype this morning. I did so, and now everytime I select swype it closes automatically and I get the android keyboard.
- Swype Beta is checked in Language & Input (android keyboard is selected and grey in this screen)
- Choose Input Method screen. I select "Swype Beta". It flashes to Swype. Then reverts back to Android keyboard immediately
- I have cleared cache, etc. and rebooted the phone. This brought me to the new swype EULA and activation process. Which I did successfully. I rechecked all settings.
- I have since uninstalled. Reinstalled. Reactivated. Selected. Rebooted. Etc. Nothing.
Still nothing but silence from Swype about this set of issues that are spreading like wildfire across multiple Android forums I am a member of.
Jelly bean 4.1.2 on Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ running stock android, etc
Swype 1.3.1.9274 (downloaded on 18 October, 2012)
I've searched around and found various APK's for Swype but does anyone know which is the "official" one, or latest one, or whatever? I'm looking for the best one for the DInc.
View 20 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed the latest version of Android on my Droid, my Swype stopped working (again!). When I re-installed it now it says I have to upgrade Swype as the trail is over. I looked on their web site, butI don't see any way of upgrading. Is there a way around the need to upgrade or how do I get the upgrade?
