HTC :: Sync / How Can I Use Evil Eris?

HTC Eris :: ActiveSync Not Downloading All Mail After Evil Eris Flashed
Jul 31, 2010I am not sure if there is a hidden setting somewhere that has been reset or this is a flaw with Evil Eris, but whenever it synches with Exchange 2003 it only downloads 100 emails and stops and says 100/179 and is not showing any emails from the past three days.
Also, a few days ago, it got a synch error and said it was out of disk space and I checked my SD card and saw it was very low so I deleted a bunch of MP3s and freed up 6.5 gigs of space but it still doesn't work.
Are the emails actually saved on the SD card or on the phone? When I have the USB plugged in can I browse to their location?
My send/receive setting are:
Mail size: Entire mail
Download frequency: Every 5 mins
Download past mail: 14 days
Include file attachment: Smaller than 2MB
Reply with original text: Checked
Always BCC me: Unchecked
This is my work email and it's critical that it operates properly when I am on call.

May 7, 2010I'm currently running Aloysius V9 but am wondering about EvilEris 2.0. Has anybody ran both of these Roms and if so, what do you think about them? I really like most of the features included with Aloysius but if EvilEris is noticeably faster I could deal with losing some things. I know its been touched on before but if you have experience with both, could you pease post a quick comparison.

Jul 14, 2010Just rooted my v3 leak phone today Yay me! Well anyways I installed Evil Eris 3.0 and it works great and all but I wanted to try live wallpapers so when I flashed the live wallpapers.zip after installing Evil eris a lot of the icons, pngs, user interfaces, etc. are messed up. So I swiped the phone, installed evil eris, and flashed the live wallpapers.zip again but have the exact same problem. Can any one help?

Jul 27, 2010Trying to get a2sd working and tried multiple times and can't seem to get it to work. Here are the steps I took. If anyone has the correct way or steps to get this working i'd love to get a2sd working on evil eris 3.0.
1. flash evil eris 3.0 to my phone (EvilEris3.0 zip)
2. flash kernel update (ee3kernel-signed zip)
3. after doing kernel update w/o rebooting; partitioned the sd card; then clicked select sd:ext2 to ext3
3. downloaded a2sd and placed it onto the sd card (dtapps2sd-2.7.5-pf4a signed zip folder)
4. flashed a2sd (dtapps2sd-2.7.5-pf4a-signed zip folder)
5. rebooted
6. waited for the phone to turn on but it just stays black. for 20+ minutes and nothing happens. Today, I recently flashed evil eris 3.0 rom back onto the phone and would like to start out from scratch and have someone post up a guide that works since the one on xda doesn't work and every other page i've found in google can not get a2sd working on my evil eris 3.0. Please help me find a solution to get a2sd working on evil eris 3.0.

Mar 26, 2010I downloaded evil eris 2.1 to the download fold and then moved it to my sd card. Then when I go to reboot by pressing the power and the up volume button it goes to a screen with a exclamation point inside of a triangle with a phone under it. What does that mean? Feb 16, 2010I've searched the forums and looked at the Sticky above, but it doesn't seem to answer the question. We have one staff member here that bought a Droid Eris (Verizon) and unlike the Motorola Droid, I can't get this phone setup via Active Sync to our exchange server. I setup his account on my phone (M Droid) and it worked perfectly...messages, contacts and calendar all synced up fine. I go back to his Eris, and it says the account cannot be created at this time. All the settings are the same etc., so I'm a little stumped. I called Verizon and they said to wait for the new 2.0 upgrade that's supposed to be coming, but they weren't sure if that had been addressed or not. Am I missing something, or does the HTC Droid Eris not fully work with Active Sync with MS Exchange 2003?

Jan 1, 2010Has anyone been able to sync their Eris in Vista? I have yet to get HTC Sync to even see my phone. The only way I know that I can even see it is by doing a USB mount to copy files over to the MicroSD. I did some Googling and it looks like others are having the same problem. Just wondering if anyone found a work around. I have yet to try it on one of my XP machines.

While I'm on the subject of gaming I have also downloaded the snesoid light and find the music and gaming a little sluggish. Is this just how it is or is there anything I can do to sort that? Would the full paid version work any better?
HTC Droid Eris :: Gmail Contacts Gone - Eris Wont Sync Contacts
Dec 15, 2009I logged in to my gmail and needed to send email and it wouldn't suggest contacts anymore. I went into contacts and all of them gone except the ones that only had email field filled in. The groups that i created are there but no contacts.
I went into my phone and google contacts are there but they won't sync, errors out with "sync is temporary down".
All this creates another problem for me, I have phone contacts and google contacts in my Eris. Phone contact are synced to PC and all is good but I need my google contact in my gmail so I can email people and I have no way of putting them back to gmail and don't even know how to back them up.

Aug 27, 2010I have xtrROM 4.0.4 installed and its working great. I do have an issue with my Gmail coming in late though. I had a reminder from my Google calendar yesterday at 1pm, and I got the email for it today @ 4:30pm. I saw when 4.0.6.1 came out it said on a post here "fixes the Gmail Sync issue". Is this the issue I'm seeing? Since I have everything running how I want, is it worth upgrading to 4.0.6.1? Do I have to do a full wipe and reinstall everything? Or can I flash right on top (after a NAND backup of course)?

Oct 17, 2010I just Flashed to KaosFroyo V37 from White Widow. So far the Froyo seems to be much faster and smoother than WW. My only issue is that I cannot get Ford's Sync to pair with the phone on this ROM. It has worked on every 2.1 ROM that I have used. It gets to the point where you enter the PIN into the phone and then the connect process crashes.

Jan 9, 2010So I added a few contacts on Google today, and noticed that they hadn't gone to my phone, I checked in Settings>Data Synchronization>Google and noticed that Contacts were actively syncing that moment. So I waited. Contacts continued to sync for twenty minutes, so I turned the phone off, took the battery out, put it back in, and the contacts still just keep syncing but never finish. However, no real data is being transferred, I suppose it's somehow stuck, but can't figure it out. Workaround? Fix?
