Samsung Behold 2 :: Bluetooth - Starts To Stream Music - Even When Music Player Is Closed
May 10, 2010Everytime my phone connects with my car stereo (Clarion FB275btb) it starts to stream music. It even tries to stream if the music player is closed. After I stop the music and and put the stereo into another mode it works fine. If I later get a call it acts normally, but after I end the call it starts to stream music again! Any ideas on what the problem might be? My stereo worked fine with my behold I and nokia 5310.

May 10, 2010I notice that if I use bluetooth headphones, I can only use them with the default music player, which is a big drag since it kind of blows. If I delete the music player in the adb shell, will that fix the problem so I can use a different music app?

Dec 8, 2009I had my Droid connected to my car's AUX via typical cable/jack. Various songs were skipping. They weren't skipping the day before, just since yesterday.
It only skips when it is connected via jack or Bluetooth to another player.
If i just listen to the Droid without connecting to anything else, it doesn't skip.

I wanted to pair it with my new Legend, but for some reason when I press Scan for devices in the Bluetooth setup, my PC shows up, my neighbor's Nokia shows up, but the headset never appears. I thought that Bluetooth devices were pretty universal; shouldn't my Legend see this headset and pair with it without problem?

Android :: Promising Music Player App - Astro Player Nova
Oct 12, 2010Early this morning I d/l another music to try out. It's called Astro Player Nova.
The Nova is a beta app but looks to have promise. It contains several features that I look for and even includes the ever-elusive equalizer!
I use a combination of my Eris' stock player, Cubed (3) and Zimly to accomplish my desire to create playlists, queue songs and have an easy to use interface.
The stock player creates playlists the easiest of any app I've used that can do it, while I love the way that Cubed handles music selection and queuing of songs. Zimly has the easiest and slickest interface of any app I've tried. In fairness to Zimly, I recently found a way to create playlists and queue songs in the app. These features aren't as easy to find or identify in Zimly as within the stock music player or Cubed, but they exist.
Well, I am trying the Nova from Astro and it looks VERY promising! This app allows playlist creation, provides queuing of songs and...wait for it...Wait for it...IT HAS AN EQUALIZER!
This product is still in beta so I'm taking it through the paces, including the equalizer. I have an aux input in my car, I use wireless FM xmitter in my wife's car and I wear headphones when exercising, so I should be able to reasonably assess how useful the equalizer is.
One nice feature of the beta app is that it has a option to send feedback to the developers right from the app. This is nice for those of us who don't have a problem with apps transmitting user data.
I will update this thread as I use Nova more. Also, I'm interested in other opinions from new users.
HTC Hero :: Music Player Locks Up / Fix It - Set Another 3rd Party Player As Default?
Oct 26, 2010The audio/music player on my HTC Hero locks up immediately when it starts. As a result I cannot preview any sounds or play any music unless I stream with pandora or something. I have installed another music player app, which is fine for music, but the default player remains the one that locks up, so if I click an audio file to preview it, that app comes up and locks. Is there a fix for this? Can I somehow set another 3rd party player as default?

Aug 10, 2010I cannot get files to transfer via bluetooth, either to another phone or to my car kit (ie/ contact lists, v cards). when i called for help i was told 1 - check with your network provider. (uhm, bluetooth doesn't utilize the network...) 2- the upgrade to 2.1 has caused many of the products to be unable to sync to other devices (well, the speaker works, i just can't transfer files. oh, that is odd - not a helpful reply) and 3 - try a factory reset. (how about, no. every time i've tried that nothing is fixed and i'm back to square one and having to reload all of my programs and data).it's been determined that my settings are correct. has anyone else found this issue and been able to overcome it?

I only ask as I think the current one that is default installed on the phone is poor, very poor. I use another app to play podcasts and even with the 'hide podcasts from default player' option ticked, they still show up in the music player.

Jul 2, 2010I have purchased a 23gb sdhc micro sd card. On my computer and phone the total memory is recognized. When connected to the computer I can transfer my selected music across to the phone (htc legend). No issues and no errors.
Everytime I dismount the phone and then check these files the phone only see 4-5gb of the music (9gb orignally added). If I then try and reconnect to my computer only the 4-5gb is present the rest has been erased! This is happened with 2 micro sd cards. Really confused - can anyone help?

The odd thing is, when i went to play some music using the music player, only about a quarter of the songs showed up. Media :: Music Manager And Music Player App
Aug 9, 2010I've been using the standard media player on my Nexus one since I've gotten it, only loaded music once using simple copy and paste method on the folder level. Problem is I've gotten new music (alot) and I can no longer fit it all on my nexus one.
Before someone mentions it, I've tried using DoubleTwist and I'm not a fan, I've had issues with slow syncing, duplicates, and as a music manager I can't determine the total size of the media I want to sync, can't choose more than all or selected playlists, no artist selections, I can't edit the file tags within the application, and some music isn't removed when I try to remove it from my library (not move to trash)... Overall I'm very unsatisfied.
Needless to say I'm looking for something else to use, something that allows me to rate my music both on the desktop and on my nexus one...and that those ratings actually sync on... this will allow me to determine what I Listen to and thus only transfer that over to my N1.

Motorola Droid :: Music Using Music Player
Jun 20, 2010Ok non-rooted droid. Using the stock media player it will not let me play a certain folder that I downloaded. I can not figure out why it will not play any of the songs on in that certain folder. I downloaded the whole disc set of a certain artist and this is the only folder that does it. I checked and every song is 317 kbps MP3 format. I have some music that I downloaded using iMusic and it is 320 kbps MP3 format, so I have deducted the bitrate as being the issue.

Dec 10, 2009I have a 16gb card and I have my music in a folder called music. For some reason the music player isnt seeing all my music. I have made changes to folders names just to see if the app recognizes the changes, even removed some music, but when I load the card the music app dosent see the changes. Its like its somehow cached. I have gone in the "settings/applications/manage applications/music/" and cleared the cache, but under "settings/applications/manage applications /music player" it wont let me clear the cache. I have also noticed that certain folders have different album art thats ok not worried about that just want all my music to show. have any of you ran into this problem or know how to have it reload the music on the memory card ?

Jun 17, 2010I've searched for a solution to this but everyone just says to buy another music player,which I really want to avoid having to do.I've installed a few games that put sound effects on the SD card.The music player adds these to the playlist so I'm getting random sounds effects mixed with my music.I cannot find a way to tell the music player to JUST USE THE MUSIC FOLDER.Is there something I am missing or an add-on for the stock player?

I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.
