So I use my X to stream pandora/slacker and the droid media player through my ford sync bluetooth system. I am having two separate issues I am hoping someone can comment on.
The first is that pretty much every other time I try to stream music I do not get any sound. I have to reboot my phone for it to work. Everything is paired correctly and volume it turned up etc. This is my 2nd X and they both did the same thing. Happens on 2.1 and 2.2 leak
Second is that my steering wheel controls randomly work. Sometimes the music player doesn't skip sometimes it does. Also recently if I have pandora or slacker playing and I press the skip forward button on my steering wheel the droid music player starts and I get both slacker/pandora and the droid music player playing at the same time. I should also mention i am on the 2.2 leak.

I was thinking about installing a Pioneer Appradio 2 to control my phone on my car stereo. I can't justify spending who knows what on installation costs when all I want is to hear my Pandora through my stereo and conveniently able to switch apps. Then I thought about a possible workaround, using my steering wheel. It has Volume/Channel up/down and a Mode button.
Is there a way to integrate my steering wheel buttons into switching volume, changing tracks and switching modes while still being able to use it with my existing stereo? I have an AM/FM radio w/ CD player and also a tape deck.Is there a way to hook up a backup camera to your Smartphone via bluetooth? My current setup is Smartphone to Bluetooth to tape deck adapter to stereo. I had the car dock for my RAZR MAXX but the audio went bad on it.

I've been using my Desire with normal headphones for a couple of weeks and have just tried the supplied ones with the remote control. I use Google Listen quite a bit and was downloading a podcast with it earlier. The problem comes when I try and listen to something on the media player - the << and >> seem to control both applications at the same time, so I have podcasts and music playing together! It also creates big delays in the reaction time to the controls creating clips from both apps being played randomly. Am I missing something or is the only way to do to 'force close' Google Listen in applications first?

I do have an unused Xperia X8 which would perfectly fit as an extension for my HiFi. The X8 should be plugged to the HiFi using a normal stereo jack and should provide the music to the HiFi.
The music should be stored on a network share or/and on the MicroSD card - and in some rare cases on some cloud service.
To find a player which is supporting these things is not a problem - but I do not want to get up every now and then to change music or to skip to the next track or change my playlist. We do have other Android devices lying around as well incl. a tablet So is there a way to control another Android Device which acts as a music player - from another Android device or PC to change music, to skip songs and so on ?!
If you are on PC - that is easy - you get a Web Interface for nearly every piece of software but hey - what about the android eco system - how they play together ?!

I like Remote for iTunes but hate dealing with iTunes in general.
I play my music from PC >Optical cable > AV receiver.
Just wondering if theres a good Remote app that would accomplish this ?
(willing to install a 3rd party software on PC)
Prefer something phone/Tablet friendly.

Which music app on the market has speed control? Currently I have Neutron (paid version) installed on my phone, but this "professional" player does not have speed control, it can't even read .wpl files.
So I'm looking for a new player that have speed control and also can real .wpl files so that I can play all my lecture audios and audio books at a more comfortable speed.

Looking through the app store most remote control apps seem to be written to control the VLC player. I was wondering if anyone has come across one that can be used with Front Row so my Desire can replace the Apple Remote. Obviously there are iPhone apps for this but I've no idea if Front Row is open enough for an Andriod developer to have been able to do something similar

there is software to convert Bluetooth to IR signals or vise-versa? It would be great to have an app to be able to use the Android phones as learning universal remotes. Would it be a hardware issue? I have an Sprint HTC Hero if it matters.

Does anyone know if there is a remote control (not app) for headphones that can control play/pause/volume? I listen to music at night and on long trips and it would be great to have something like this so I don't have to keep pulling out the phone. This would be the final blow to getting rid of my iPod once and for all
Alternatively, I wonder if there is a wireless one via bluetooth but that would kill the battery...

Does anyone know if the ability to control the mp3 player via bluetooth has been developed?
This would be a great item to include as when bluetooth stereo comes out, the user could use their bluetooth car radio to controll the music.

Everytime my phone connects with my car stereo (Clarion FB275btb) it starts to stream music. It even tries to stream if the music player is closed. After I stop the music and and put the stereo into another mode it works fine. If I later get a call it acts normally, but after I end the call it starts to stream music again! Any ideas on what the problem might be? My stereo worked fine with my behold I and nokia 5310.

Before I installed a different music player into my vibrant, I could use wired headset to play/pause the default music play, or even pandora. Now the button only works with the music player I recently installed. Does anybody how to set the control back to the default music player?

I use a PC at work all day but quite often want to use GTalk to chat to people. Unfortunately my company blocks it so I can't use a browser to chat but obviously I can through my phone.
I used to have an HTC Desire that was rooted so that allowed me to use droidvnc to connect to my phone from my PC via vncviewer using USB(There's no wifi here). It then meant I could type on my keyboard which makes things a whole lot easier when you're in the middle of something.
Basically now I've gone to an HTC One X I'm just wondering whether there's any app or anything that would let me do the same thing but without rooting the device as I don't want to invalidate any warranties just yet.
I'm really after a bit of software to let me remote control my phone via USB for the purpose of using GTalk.

I am looking for a way to remote control my android device (Motorola Xoom & Motorola Droid). I assume this will have to occur via Bluetooth but I am open to any option (wifi?)I'd like the following functionality in the remote:
- Launch Music Player
- Launch Maps / Navigation
- Play / Pause / Next Track / Previous track
- Launch Voice Search
- Launch text search
The official motorola Xoom Bluetooth keyboard has physical buttons for many of these operations (maybe not navigation or voice search) but this device is far too large to use as a 'remote'
My ideal situation would be to find a small Bluetooth remote designed for something like this. I've been looking at getting a Wiimote and the app that allows you to map its keys to keystrokes. Are there keyboard shortcuts for these operations?
I also noticed many of the keyboard shortcuts require the 'Search' key (i.e. Search+'b' launches the browser). What if I got a generic bluetooth keyboard without a 'Search' key - what is the alternative keypress?

One for each would be nice lol.
If such a thing exists(?) I haven't been able to find it. All I can find is widgets to control the devices various volume levels. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be possible...
