I have over 1,000 mp3 files on my sd card but they are not showing up in any of my music players..they show up in astro and i can play them through there, but id like the ease of just having them in my playlists.

I recently bought an SD card for my Samsung Galaxy Centura, mainly so I could store music on it without taking up much of the memory. The odd thing is, when i went to play some music using the music player, only about a quarter of the songs showed up. When I used Android File Manage to check the SD card, they were all there and playable. All the songs are MP3 format. how I can get the songs to work on the music player?

I just think it's simply awesome and I really digg it, but so far I haven't found any players on market yet, I've tried Meridian and etc, and they're all good but simply don't have this function.
I installed a game from gameloft (Let's golf, great graphics btw)
Anyway I notice a bunch of sounds files were showing up in my music player I didn't want. Very annoying. I searched around here and didn't really find that much help. After some further searching around the net the easiest way I could find was as follows:
1. Open up notepad, don't type anything just go to file, save as. Change the drop down box for Save as type: select all files. Under file name simply type ".nomedia" without quotes.
2. Connect your phone to your computer, locate where the sound files you don't want are. In the same folder as where all the files are, drag the .nomedia file you made to that folder. Disconnect the phone
3. Reboot your phone, once booted open up the music player (you might still see the files there since it's cached) Go to the all songs tab, select a song. This will refresh the cache and you should no longer see any annoying files in your widget or playlist.
Before this I had to make a custom playlist and select that but everytime I rebooted I would have to select the playlist again plus if you add new songs you would have to go into the playlist.
Also if you don't know where the annoying files are, you should be able to hold down on it in the music application and go to details. This will show u where the files are located.
Having problem with my music not showing up, it only shows 4 songs out of 75. I tried using poweramp,playerpro, and the default music app but it still doesn't work

I have all my music in a folder called music. Can I limit the music player to search in that folder only?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Asphalt 5. Apparently, you have to download some stuff in order to play the game. Anyways, I did download it and my problem is, there are sound files that are showing up on my music player. Ex: (raw_000~raw_174) Oh and the sound files are in ".ogg" format. I did some research and I tried the ".nomedia" method, but that didn't work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have galaxy ace with cyanogen mod on it. The music player doesn't show id3 tags right. For example, i have changed "artist" tag of one of breaking benjamin's song to "Rock,Single", but the music player is still showing previous tag.
I have changed the tag to something different many times, but it still shows the first tag which is "breaking benjamin".
I have the Motorola Droid and am using the stock music player. I was looking for alittle help finding something better to use...am sure alot of you are using something much better.

I only ask as I think the current one that is default installed on the phone is poor, very poor. I use another app to play podcasts and even with the 'hide podcasts from default player' option ticked, they still show up in the music player.
Everytime my phone connects with my car stereo (Clarion FB275btb) it starts to stream music. It even tries to stream if the music player is closed. After I stop the music and and put the stereo into another mode it works fine. If I later get a call it acts normally, but after I end the call it starts to stream music again! Any ideas on what the problem might be? My stereo worked fine with my behold I and nokia 5310.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed my new 32gb card into my desire and transferred my music collection (about 20gb) across via my pc but when I try to play them not all are available. They appear to be on the card as when I check the contents of the card on the pc in explorer they are all there and if I check the folders using the phone again they are showing on the card.
But when I go to select a song to play from the stock player there are only 100 songs to choose from which is very strange as there should be over 2000 easily. Interestingly when I switched the phone off and back on again I had about 700 to choose from which is still not right. Do I need to do anything with the vcard before installing (for example I didn't format it)? For info I needed to set up a new folder called MP3 on the new card when I installed it and dragged them into this folder so presume that was correct?
Put a few songs on the new Vibrant--under SD folder...However, nothing shows in my music player.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCouple of Q's if anyone can help me out here.some reason, the default music player doesn't show each individual mp3's artwork that's embdeded into the files - but I installed mixzing, and that does do it. Was wondering which is the correct tag ID to use for the default music app as this is could possibly be the cause - I've looked at my mp3s and they're all tagged with (ID3v1 ID3v2.3 APEv2) - all done in 'mp3tag'.I have some of my music in folders; 80s music,90s Music etc, full of individual songs from lots of different artists so like to use the seperate artwork for whichever song I'm playing, so I've tagged them all accordingly, and as I said 'mixzing' displays each songs art just fine - but the default player seems to pick 'one' of the songs in the folder, and applies the one artwork for everything in that folder. Why not just use Mixzing I hear you say Well it's not perfect either there doesn't seem a way to re-order playlists and this is something I tend to do quite often. One other thing If I create a playlist and save it, where is it saved to exactly I can't seem to find it anywhere on the SD card!

View 13 Replies View RelatedUsing the HTC music player and it is acting strangely. When I have it in my pocket (with the screen locked) it seems to keep skipping about between tracks. I can recreate this effect by tilting it backwards and forwards and it skips a track. I at first thought it would be helped by turning off the accelerometer, but there seems no obvious way of doing that. What I have since noticed is that sometimes the player detects my headphones as a headset (a headset icon appears in the top bar) and then I get these problems. When it actually detects them as headphones, which gives a slightly different icon, it seems to actually work perfectly. It seems to be just luck as to which it recognises as, and it makes it useless as a music player.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my desire for 4 weeks now cannot not fault it except I have an irritating problem with mp3 playback.I have 16Gb memory card filled with about 14Gb of music,I just like to let the music shuffle which brings me to the problem I have is every time I set it to play music and either put the desire in my pocket or lay it next to me I can listen to sometimes 4 or 5 tracks and the music all of a sudden stops othertimes it could be 15 or 16 songs,it doesn't pause just completely stops.I have tried different music players,i.e the stock player tunewiki and 2 or 3 others and its the same.Its really frustrating while I'm on the train having to keep getting the phone out to reset the music player.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using the standard media player on my Nexus one since I've gotten it, only loaded music once using simple copy and paste method on the folder level. Problem is I've gotten new music (alot) and I can no longer fit it all on my nexus one.
Before someone mentions it, I've tried using DoubleTwist and I'm not a fan, I've had issues with slow syncing, duplicates, and as a music manager I can't determine the total size of the media I want to sync, can't choose more than all or selected playlists, no artist selections, I can't edit the file tags within the application, and some music isn't removed when I try to remove it from my library (not move to trash)... Overall I'm very unsatisfied.
Needless to say I'm looking for something else to use, something that allows me to rate my music both on the desktop and on my nexus one...and that those ratings actually sync on... this will allow me to determine what I Listen to and thus only transfer that over to my N1.
Ok non-rooted droid. Using the stock media player it will not let me play a certain folder that I downloaded. I can not figure out why it will not play any of the songs on in that certain folder. I downloaded the whole disc set of a certain artist and this is the only folder that does it. I checked and every song is 317 kbps MP3 format. I have some music that I downloaded using iMusic and it is 320 kbps MP3 format, so I have deducted the bitrate as being the issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 16gb card and I have my music in a folder called music. For some reason the music player isnt seeing all my music. I have made changes to folders names just to see if the app recognizes the changes, even removed some music, but when I load the card the music app dosent see the changes. Its like its somehow cached. I have gone in the "settings/applications/manage applications/music/" and cleared the cache, but under "settings/applications/manage applications /music player" it wont let me clear the cache. I have also noticed that certain folders have different album art thats ok not worried about that just want all my music to show. have any of you ran into this problem or know how to have it reload the music on the memory card ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can get my music onto my phone and use them as ringtones, alarm tones and message tones but when i managed to do this they won't play in the music player, it says "no music found" but when i change my music to a different folder to get it to play in the music application. I then cant use them as my ringtones, message tones etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tagged my music with my album art and also renamed some songs that were wrong but the music player doesn't seem to recognize some of the changes, I thought that it wasn't liking certain types of album art but looking at some of the files I changed it doesn't seem to pick up the new files. I've basically deleted the old music and replaced it with my new tagged music but the music player doesn't see that but sees the old files, even though they're not on the SD card anymore, they're not in the trash either, so I'm not sure where it's picking them up from. This only happens every now and then and not with all the music. I've restarted the phone and I've used an app called SD rescan and still it doesn't budge, is it picking it up from some database that needs refreshing?
