As a former Eris and Android 1.5 user, the only thing I can complain about with 2.1 is that the notification bat icons no longer have numbers over them. Does anyone know if this is fixed in 2.2? Or if there's a way to get it back that I'm not aware of in 2.1?

After updating to Froyo (Manual Update.zip method), the stock internet browser crashes on load of MULTIPLE sites....including Android forums here.
It loads up a little bit of it...you see some sign of loading...than before it fully loads...CRASH, just closes itself down. This is also true for most of any other forums I visit with the phone. I also noticed a crash from other sites as well. What's the deal? I tried clearing all my history, cookies, etc. on the browser...also tried a couple of battery pulls.
NOTE:
Dolphin Browser HD does not have this behavior....but I would much prefer to continue using Stock browser (It is WAY faster now). ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE.
UPDATE:
In short, it seems most flash DOES NOT work. Whats the deal?
Was this option removed or am I doing something wrong? Now I have to slide the dumb thing off the screen to unlock...

Sometimes, just randomly while messing with an app, I get the mystery notification sound.No emails, no texts, no notification bar items just <insert mystery notification sound here> somewhat randomly. View 2 Replies View RelatedSince I was rooted I was a little scared to do OTA update. I had heard that it was possible to brick my phone if I accepted it. So I did the simple unroot method and upon reboot I expected to be able to update to Froyo...
Not the case...I have yet to get the notification again after about 1.5 hrs. I was so happy too this morning when I saw it. Worst part?? I forgot to backup my contacts...
Just updated to Froyo, and my camera no longer works, neither in camera or video mode. Tap the icon and the screen shows the white startup icon, then goes back to the home screen. I'm on 3 in the UK, and have an unbranded, un-locked handset, as sent to me by 3. The phone is not rooted.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have this phone for probably two months now. Overall I'm quite happy considering I have an old one for more than five years.
However, I have two issues that are really bugging me. I think it might have occurred after the froyo update although I'm not sure.
My first issue is the GPS. I takes much longer than before to find my location although when it does it is very accurate. Lots of time it's more than five minutes. It was much faster before. I don't know what's going on!
Second I have 4G problem. If I serf the web with 4G, I'm fine. When I turn on my tethering more than 90% of the time, it will automatically revert back to 3G even if I have good connection (two or more bars). This is quite maddening to say the least. Was wondering if anyone has any ideas. Will a factory reset.
My hero has stopped giving me the notification to connect to any pc, it still charges, but I can't access my files. It's been happening for a few months, it worked ok for the first 6 months I had the phone, I've tried numerous PCs and cables, but nothing has worked. I'm currently stuck on v1.5 of Android.I've contacted Orange, but they've just passed me on to HTC, can anyone help before I just give up and buy an iphone?!

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my notification bar is no longer sensitive to touch. All the notifications are showing up but when I go to pull the screen down it no longer recognizes this action or that I'm touching it. Every once in a while it will work again for no reason that I can tell.
When I try and press on the bar it usually thinks I'm pressing whatever widget is at the top near it. I've tried moving finger positioning but to no avail.
My phone updated last night and afterwards I've been experiencing problems. I had 6 apps in the bottom bar including the apps button and I was forced to remove one so the others would fit. My main concern is that my mobile data on off switch in the notification bar is no longer there.

View 20 Replies View Relatedsince I updated to 2.2 last night when I am on the phone I receive a text message and it plays my ringtone even while I'm on the phone. Before the update the notification would just pop out without any sound (which is fine and what I'd prefer). Has anyone noticed this, or is aware of a fix? All I can do at this point is make sure my phone is on vibrate before I'm on the phone. BTW the sound stops after I touch the notification like normal it's just annoying for it to play at all while on the phone.

I'm on my parents family plan. Because I won't be able to take my parents to the store on Thursday morning (b/c of work) I am thinking of pre-ordering it. Will I be able to take it to the store for activation/transfer my numbers and everything without the "primary phone owner" or whatever Verizon calls the main number on the family plan? Whenever I try to call them or go online I'm unable to do anything because I'm not the head honcho.

I tried changing the pulse notification light setting and doing a reboot bit no luck. I googled the problem and a few other people have reported the same problem but no solutions.
I've only tested email notifications and app updates.
Froyo: Does anyone know how to stop the track ball notification light from flashing all together? I can't figure out how to turn it off.

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I noticed that my emails from my phone were not getting sent.Today I noticed I had a bunch in my outbox that said sending.I have the sync turned on and all my other Google apps sync (Calendar, Picasa, Contacts) but gmail never updates.I can't force it to send and receive either.And I can't remove my account to set it up again without doing a factory reset.Any ideas why just my gmail is not syncing anymore?BTW I tried to uncheck all sync options turn off phone and back on then check them again without any luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy understanding is that you can use GV's voicemail service in lieu of the carrier's voicemail, even with a non-GV phone number. I have selected the option in GV to use GV as the main voicemail for both my VZW and GV phone numbers. However, when someone calls my VZW number, they receive a "your call cannot be completed" recording and the call ends. Does anyone know how I can correct this? Is visual voicemail behind the issue?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter playing with my Incredible for many many many hours, just found a really sweet trick.In the favorites widget i have people with multiple numbers(cell, phone), and when you click on that person it calls the primary number, but last night i found that if you click the actual name of the contact(right under the actual pic) a detail properties pop up for that contact and from there you can callsmsemail the person via other numbers.now back to looking for more cool things
View 6 Replies View RelatedI set up a family group in "people". When I send an MMS pic to the group it ends up sending it to all their email addresses instead of their mobile numbers. Everything looks right in their contact info and it seems like it should be defaulting to their mobile number when you add them within the "messaging" app.
It works fine when I add everyone manually since it asks me if I want to send to their mobile number or their email. I just want it to default to their mobile numbers if I am working within the messaging app. It's not a deal breaker but kinda annoying since we all send each other pics all the time and having a group set up to do it was actually really easy on my old Windows 6.1.
Earlier I tried to send a note from the "Notes" app to a contact. When my contact list appears I see a list of numbers, rather than the actual names of my contacts.

I can do that, but it doesn't send the call to voicemail. Am I doing something wrong? I'd rather not use an app for this if I don't have to.
