May 25, 2010When I turn the phone on programs like blue tooth share, calender storage, facebook for htc sense, flickr, footprints, city ID, friend stream,maps, peep, visual voice mail....are all opened on their own. I have no option to force stop. And even if i use an ap killer to end them, they come back on their own.
I've got to imagine this is effecting my battery and usage...how do I stop these from running on their own. There is nothing in settings that I can do?

Is there a "msconfig" of sorts where I can stop them from starting on their own or....?

Aug 4, 2010Anyone notice an abundance of programs starting by themselves since the 2.2 update? I open "Task Killer" and I have got facebook, voice dialer, amazon mp3, etc running. I don't even have these programs set to update. There are about 15 programs running that i didn't even open. This happens about two minutes after I kill the apps.

Jul 4, 2013I'm using a device with 512mb RAM. Now facebook uses up to 80mb, and notifications, and messages aren't even shown properly, actually only if you go into the app.
Now my question is - is there any way exept android manifest changes to prevent any facebook services? It lowers the performance a lot, and is really on of the baddest apps ever seen.

Android :: Prevent Phone Screen From Turning On When Volume - Camera Key Pressed?
Jun 5, 2010I have an activity that shows up when the phone screen goes to sleep/turns off ie turns black.
For some reason, the phone turns on when the volume buttons or the camera buttons are pressed. By turns on, I mean the screen wakes up or comes back from the black screen state.
I've tried using dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) and the buttons are disabled on the activity, but they still wake up the phone.

Jun 1, 2010When I trun my phone on, the scene changes from the scene I had chosen (the waving grass) to "current (unsaved)".If I change it to the one I prefer (saved with my name) I am asked to "save or cancel" the incorrect one.I click cancel, and all is well.But why does it change and how do I keep the scene selected that I want?I just want it to stick on the scene that I have chosen.

Using LP, I only have the option to add to dock or home screen shortcuts, widgets, folders, and wallpaper; no programs. I especially want to add programs like Jorte to my dock. Sep 23, 2010So is there still no way to do folders in all programs? Right now I'm using ShadowRom (love it) with LauncherPro and Folder Organizer as a solution but it's a wee bit laggy. I have like 50 game apps and I put them into a Games folder on my homescreen and then used LauncherPro to hide the games in the All Programs Menu to get rid of some of the clutter.

May 3, 2010Ok, I'll do my best to describe what I'm trying to do, if its even possible.
So the DI has the 7 screens that you can cycle through. The first one is home, then I swipe left and its full screen Favorites, on more to the left is full screen calendar. If I go left from home screen, its full screen mail.
So my question is, how can you make other apps/programs/widgets full screen? For example have google maps open full screen or photos or message etc. I can drag the little icon to a new page but it stays that small icon size.

HTC Incredible :: Droid Incredible Says Mobile Network Turning On
Jun 6, 2010I am having an issue with my HTC Droid Incredible. When going to Settings>Wireless and networks and looking under Mobile Network, it says "Turning on." However, it stays in that mode and never "turns on."Things I have tried
1. Restart the phone/taking the battery out
2. Reset the phone to factory settings by going to Privacy in Settings
3. Contact Verizon and have them remove and re-add the data plan
I have noticed that, when I call *228, and try to activate the phone, it says an error occurred and it could not activate the phone. I can make phone calls from the phone, but cannot do anything that requires a data plan, meaning that it is an issue with that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Sep 8, 2010after my update i noticed programs opening in the background all the time. between this, the choppy everything, and pandora never closing, i decided to do the hard reset. after that, i just had to reinstall apps. now its smooth and faster than ever. so, the issue ATK still shows apps open that were not open before. i kill them and check in 20 and sometimes things like Skype and pandora are open but i never started the app. i am thinking that the ATK isnt working. to even push this idea more, now when i surf the net, i close it with the ATK. it says its closed but when i open the internet again, its on the same page i left it on. why not my home page as before. i did set my home page.

May 4, 2010This thing doesn't seem as if though it was designed to be used in landscape at all. The desktop can not go landscape along with many other programs.
But the biggest issue I am seeing is that the landscape keyboard doesn't seem to assume the same rules as the qwerty portrait. When you are in landscape and make a typing mistake it will not auto correct. No matter what the settings. If you searching something in google or typing in chat program it will not stop suggesting words to you. No matter the settings. But the worst offending issue is that in a chat program like meboo you can not see your conversation while typing.
