Has anyone found a good, reliable application that will allow me to stop other applications from starting with the phone? And yes, I've already looked to see if there are options in some of these that prevent this, but no, there's not.

I am not sure what is going on here. I posted about my battery going down quickly. I think I found out why. Applications are STARTING without my input. I did Advance Task Killer-killed all Apps-I pick the phone up 5 minutes later and nearly all of my applications are running. I did NOT start them-some of them are like BBC News, Fox News ETC. I do not want them to be running like that. Not sure why they are starting up.

I didnīt noticed if this happens to 1.6 duo to the short usage of this droid version.
Every time i starts the camera application or any application that uses the camera (like Google goggles for example), the phone aparently crashes and suddenly reboot. After the reboot, the camera used to work for the first times but about aprox 30 min. or less that the phone has been rebooted, when i try to start the camera, the phone crashes and restarts again.
Iīve tried to Repair the phone in pc Companion software and the issue continues the same.
Is there any way to stop some applications from starting on system startup? I means not killing them. just don't let them to start.

Sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds for them to just start.I have also had the HTC logo show up when closing stuff (black screen and grey HTC logo) and then the circle.

I restarted the phone and no change. Listed below are the apps i have installed on my phone. What could be causing this? It just started today. I also have cleared cache in most apps on the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn the phone on programs like blue tooth share, calender storage, facebook for htc sense, flickr, footprints, city ID, friend stream,maps, peep, visual voice mail....are all opened on their own. I have no option to force stop. And even if i use an ap killer to end them, they come back on their own.
I've got to imagine this is effecting my battery and usage...how do I stop these from running on their own. There is nothing in settings that I can do?
Seems like there are a lot of programs, when I look at my task killer that have started on their own for example
Footprints (what the heck is that anyway... wanted to uninstall but can't)
Skype Mobile
Google talk
City ID
Handcent SMS
Mixzing
Is there a "msconfig" of sorts where I can stop them from starting on their own or....?
I know there are now apps to keep the LEDs on so we can use it as a flashlight or whatever but does this kill the LEDs? I was thinking why else wouldn't HTC put this functionality into the phone? Maybe the LEDs are only meant to be on for short bursts like for the camera and keeping them on will burn it out.

If so what all does ROM manager save when I do a backup or restore point? Also, how do I delete apps I don't want that came with the ROM? View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this has been posted yet, and I don't know if this is one of those "duh" functions that everyone but me knew about, but here's a (hopefully) helpful tidbit. If you hold down the home button, a folder pops up containing all active applications. You can very easily switch back and forth between open apps this way. I have been using this function to switch between my calorie counter and weight watchers diary since neither have all the functionality I need at the moment.

Any suggestions to whats good out there? I here a lot of good things about MIUI, and CyogenMod. Also, I shouldn't have to update the radio right? Just do backups on nandroid and titanium, wipe, then flash the new ROM.

You know just some app data and pics/vids and music not the app itself. I thought the 8 gig storage was for apps.

No biggy because I still could play the games. But now I go to install Angry Birds, I can't play it because it fails. Its just really starting to annoy me. My brother girlfriend has an Inc and she installed Angry Birds just fine.Is anyone else having this problem? Should I just take it to Verizon so see how far that gets me?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am going to try to hard reset my Incredible in hopes it fixes a couple problems I'm seeing since getting 2.2. I want to back up my apps though, so I go into manage applications and pick an app, but the 'move to SD card' option is grayed out. Also, to hard reset all I have to do is from home screen touch menu-settings-privacy- factory data reset - reset phone. Or is there something I should do instead?

For example I go to an amusement park and want to make sure i get the whole day out of the phone w/o recharge, can i kill all the widgets etc and just leave it as a "phone" with calling in/out and SMS / MMS stuff, maybe browser, then turn it all back on at the end of the day with out having to start each thing individually?

So I checked appbrain, and at least two of the applications I have installed have been updated. There's either something wrong with the market, or my phone. Is anyone else having this issue?

View 35 Replies View RelatedGot several issues on my Dinc when I booted this morning. Here are all the symptoms I see:
1)None of my downloaded applications are recognized as installed-I only see the factory-installed apps in the app launcher
2)Settings->Accounts&Sync gets FC (com.htc.settings.accountsync)
3)Settings->Applications: While I do see all my downloaded apps in the list, the icons don't load for them, and when I click one, I get an FC on com.android.settings
4)Phone storage/SD Storage numbers look good
5)When I boot, the notification bar shows "Preparing phone storage", followed by "Preparing SD Storage" as it normally does, but the Sync icon only flashes for a second.
I'm running stock 2.1, no root...just a normal every day phone user. Was reading articles with the Time Magazine app prior to shutting down for the night. Had plenty of battery left, so I didn't even plug it in.
So I'm debating on doing a factory reset of froyo. My question is what about apps like shazam, nfl mobile, etc. where they were free until recently. I dont want to reset my phone, re-download them, and then have to pay for the service I already had for free. Anyone know what will happen?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm new so I'm probably missing something here but I can't seem to buy any apps from Android Market. I'm using a google apps domain which is synced to my Incredible. I registered for Google checkout this morning and I can login to google checkout using my domain.com email address. I go to buy an app and it asks to log in to my google account. I enter my info and it shows me that my calendar, contacts, and email are syncing. It takes me back to the buy button which puts me into a loop.

I know that we can't currently store apps and games on the SD Card, but is there a way we can save it on the 8GB Internal Phone Storage instead of the Phone Memory, which is only 748MB. (I looked these totals up on the SD card & Phone Storage in Settings). I have the HTC Droid Incredible, which by the way is the best phone I've owned so far. Please let me know if this is possible.
