I'm using a device with 512mb RAM. Now facebook uses up to 80mb, and notifications, and messages aren't even shown properly, actually only if you go into the app.
Now my question is - is there any way exept android manifest changes to prevent any facebook services? It lowers the performance a lot, and is really on of the baddest apps ever seen.

If I create a no-gui application that extends and android.app.Service class, how do I get it to register itself so that the application starts when the phone boots up?
I need some way to have it always launch when the phone is turned on, how can I do this?
I know how to get a service to start & communicate with a real application, but I can't get it to start when the phone boots.
I have an app which will start multiple separate services which perform an action and then exit. I don't want them all to run at the same time (because this may bog down the OS).
I have the code for finding the services and starting the services, but does anyone know how I can make sure one service has completed before the next starts.
Due to what the app does it will have to start multiple services and the actions the services perform have no GUI and may take tens of seconds or minutes (hence why I'm using a service so the user isn't just shown a blank screen every time the next service starts).
If there is a way to prevent programs from starting up when turning on the DrINC? Without Rooting.

When an app gets permission to access your Google account's Android services exactly what does it have access to? Is it authenticated to access all your google stuff including gmail?
For example, I installed Changelog Droid from the play store and it wants to access my Android services. I understand it probably only needs the permission to access my play store account to analyze my installed apps, but what else is open to it if I give it the permission?
I'm looking for a messaging app that can integrate sms, whatsapp and maybe even facebook chat into a thread style similar to WP7.

I created a Login in Android but I need to store all the data in my server (PhP/MySQL).
After an OTA upgrade to 4.0.4 on my Nexus S i started getting shocking battery drain from Exchange Services regardless of sync settings on my corporat email account.
To try and stop it i disabled Exchange Services but I cant see where to start it again? I have no Exchange Services app listed any more and cant even sync Outlook mail manually.
I've rebooted the phone and removed/readded the account but I just get a "cant connect to server" error.
I am currently using the aid version on my s4 and the only down side I have with this phone is that it doesn't have good memory. So I wanted to set up the cloud services for my back ups to save some space.

The problem is that none of the google services appaear to be able to connect despite the presence of a working internet connection.
Even the Playstore display the famous "no connection...retry" message.I have tried to rebbot....factory reset...checking if the time is correct.
The host file in the etc folder display only the line 127.0.0.1 localhost line.what i have to do?

Also my Play store was missing from the phone so I installed the one that comes with Lucky Patcher (modded one) but that didn't work. Tried un-installing Play services and re installing it (downloaded the apk).
I am running android 4.0.3 on a Samsung galaxy s2 from vodafone and will like to have a light firmware. What processes or apps can I remove without affecting the way the phone functions (i.e. google partner setup). Is it possible to create a program to remove all unwanted processes without flashing a new ROM.
I'll also like to increase the connectivity speed to HSPA+.

since i updated to 4.4 my phone is encountering some crazy problems. One of these is: my nexus 4 does not work with my wifi (any other device works fine). Play store, google+, gmail, maps, google now, nothing is working the only thing that i can do is navigate in the internet. I have already tried clearing the app data/cache, uninstalling and then reinstalling from the market, and clearing phone cache/dalvik from recovery. It still has the same problem, any fix possible that doesn't involve formatting /data?
