How To Start Making A Game
Apr 1, 2012i am trying to make a game for android but am finding it difficult. For my app i have made the menu screen, sound. But to make the actual game i am not sure where to start.I am not sure how to start making the game. I have seen some tutorials but they seem to be very confusing with all the coding.
I was wondering is there not some sort of graphical layout i can use to make the games a i did to create the buttons using the xml graphical layout in eclipse.It is for my final year project and i do not have much time left or i would have done it in flash.

Dec 9, 2009I have little doubt that the battery problems would be solved by bumping out of cupcake. I actually like Touchwiz, but it seems to be causing a ton of problems. Once we get 2.0 from Samsung, I don't think we can rely on it to fix the little things. It's time to bump it up to stock ourselves. I'm no ROM cooker, but I'm willing to try. Now that we have persistent root, what next? How do we start making ROMs for this thing?

May 8, 2010I've had my phone a few days and have noticed a crackling when making regular calls at anything above around 65% volume. This seems to happen only on louder parts of speech. It's pretty frustrating when I'm in public and need the volume louder.

When dialing numbers, it has the haptic feedback for each number, and when you press send it vibrates for an outgoing call. Any one know how to turn these off?

Sep 28, 2010I thought some of you might find this useful.Making A Backup of Your Sense Scenes with Titanium Backup.Taken from Titanium CAN Restore Layouts - Sense "Scenes" - xda-developers and an entry by joel.bourquard:You can backup the Sense "Scenes" by filtering for System items (MENU -> Filters) and then selecting the item named "[DESKTOP] HTC Sense 1.00".Note that after restoring such system items, a reboot is needed for the changes to take effect.In Titanium Backup, about 99% of the phone's useful data is included in the list of items. You just need to pick the right ones.Usually you use Batch mode to backup all the *user* apps, and then you backup most green *system* items one by one.
For restoring you don't need to do it one by one: just open MENU->Batch, scroll a bit and use "Restore missing apps + all system data". That should pretty much do it in 1 click - or a few more clicks if you don't have the Donate version.
HTC Incredible :: Network Busy Error When Making Calls
Sep 23, 2010When trying to make a phone call nothing happens for about a minute then a message pops up saying network busy try again later. It happens overtime I am in this area of about 90 miles!
I have full 3g bars.
Under -80 db signal
Can receive phone calls fine.
Can use the internet fine.
Tried reboot.
Tried prl update.
Tried factory reset.
Tried downgrading to stock 2.1
Had Verizon send me a new phone. fixed the issue for about a week then came back.
Verizon has not heard of this problem.
Other Verizon people even with an incredible doesn't have this problem.
Seems to be getting worse. It used to only happen in the Toledo Ohio area. Now it doesn't work for most of the Ohio area.

Jun 3, 2010I wanted to know why certain apps just start up on their own. To clarify, I'm not talking about apps that start up on boot up. I referring to ones that start at random. For example, every so often Pandora will start playing even though it was on pause. This has happen when I'm in another app. So there is no way that I pressed on the Pandora app to play. In addition, when I try to kill apps that are running in processes. Their will be some that I have not opened that day or in a while. I going through Astro and try killing apps that I don't need to use on a regular bases. Does anyone have any ideas?

Jul 28, 20103rd time this has happened a mp3 auto starts and it is the same mp3, The Police, "message in a bottle". The only way i could stop it from playing was to "unmount" my SD card. I have not played any mp3's on this phone.

May 1, 2010Google talk service starts running as soon as the phone is on, even though the app is closed (with ATK). Anyone know how to prevent it from starting up with the phone? I dont really use gchat on the phone so I dont want it to run unless i open up the app.The same occurs with google voice (which i only have set up for voicemail). This one I dont care too much if its on since at least its useful for voicemail.

Aug 25, 2010So this is my 3rd back cover for the phone. And every time about after a month the letters on the back cover start falling off. and for me the T has fallen off each time! My friend just lost his letter too H. Just kind of pissed about the quality of this back case, very cheap. Cant wait to get a Samsung Galaxy if it ever comes for verizon because I'm not too happy of the HTC quality. This shouldn't be a problem and never have i had a phone with this issue.

Nov 9, 2010So by now most people are aware of the IQTest Hack. If not, it's a common hack. Usually you get it bc you clicked on a link you shouldn't have. Suddenly your contacts all start receiving a message from "you" I use eBuddy on my HTC Android. It is the ONLY way that I have logged into Yahoo IM in more than 5 years. I rarely even log on. And I have NEVER clicked on any link within that program (therefore within yahoo IM) And yet somehow, ALL of my contacts were contacted by "me" this morning with a similar conversation (only this jerk hacker said I'd give them $20 if they could beat me) So, what does that mean? I've already changed my yahoo password. But if I've never clicked on a link to give them access, how did they get in in the first place? Did they hack my phone? My Yahoo account? Or eBuddy? Secondly, I've been reading that when you are the victim of this hack, it's not just the messenger client that is affected, but your PC as well and that you should at least change your password AND run anti-Malware but this is my PHONE. Could a hacker have actually hacked into my cell phone? How can I tell? What do I do? I have TONS of private info stored on my phone so I'm stressing here.

May 12, 2010So I just hooked up a aux input on my car stereo and after a couple of days I noticed that when I unplug the headphones it automatically stops playing the music. This is awesome! I just unplug it when i get to work and i don't have to go in and push pause or stop. I love it. Question is... is there an app that will automatically start playing music from the player? So i could just plug it in and have the music start and then stop again when i unplug it. I only use the headphone jack and listen to music in the car.

Aug 27, 2010I recently had my DI replaced due to a tech issue, but before I switched over I backed up everything using "My Backup Pro".
When it backed up my contacts, it backed up EVERYONE - including 550+ people I follow in Twitter. I did not have these as visible in my People (phonebook) list, just in Twitter. When I synced with my new DI, My Backup Pro installed every contact to my People list, as the app must have thought it was all part of my phonebook. I tried to make the list invisible like I had it on my original phone, but that did not work, so I deleted each Twitter contact manually from my People list. They no longer show in my People list (though are available to be made visible from Twitter).
This did not solve the problem. Any app that accesses my contact list (even Search People) displays the FULL list which includes my Twitter contacts. There is no long-press or menu options available to hide them.
I am willing to clear my contacts and upload the list again, as they are all backed up to my Google account, but I am afraid it would sync with the server and delete what is saved there.
Any advice on how to clear my contact list of my Twitter followers, or start over with my Google-saved contacts?
Android :: Animation.start - Or Animation.startNow - Does Not Start The Animation Immediately
Aug 30, 2010I have a strange issue - from time to time the animation that should fade out my control (ImageButton) does not kick in immediately. I am using the fadeout animation to hide it and then in myListener on its end (onAnimationEnd) I put new resource as the image on the button.
Somewhere in my app code:
Animation a = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(this,R.anim.fadeout); a.setAnimationListener(new myListener(location)); buttons[location].setAnimation(a); a.startNow(); // regardless if its start() or startnNow() it will work in most of the cases but not 100% reliable I actually can see in debug Log when its late, happens after few more clicks
Then in myListener.onAnimationEnd(Animation a):buttons[location].setImageResource(R.drawable.standard_button);
Seems there is a rule that the every 4th or 5th animation does not start ...
